.PFX cert import into Desktop Central will not accept password
I have a 3rd party .pfx cert with known good password, as I've imported it several times elsewhere, including the opmanager product. Desktop Central is saying "invalid password" (private key backup password). So thinking my original password might be too complex, or too many characters, I re-exported the cert including private key and provided a simple 9 character password. Even the short no special character password is being rejected by Desktop Central on this .pfx cert backup. I'm very good
New false positive for patch 100672 (MSWU-1150) on Win 7 SP1 and MS Office 2010
It looks like patch 100672 (MSWU-1150) was released on December 8th. All of our Win 7 SP-1 / Office 2010 workstations had been showing that it was installed or not needed. Suddenly this morning we have 68 machines (out of a total 180+) that are showing that they require the patch. On one of the affected machines, I tried manually installing the patch and was told it didn't apply to the system in question. Anyone else notice this behavior today? Thanks.
Foxit reader after update asks for administrator account
Hello! after last update of Foxit reader it asks our users to log in as administrator when opening PDF documents. Foxit is updated, everything is installed, restarted, but still asks for administrator password for the first time when starting foxit or opening PDF document. Error when submitting Help Desk request from client
When our users try to submit requests from the DC agent to our ServiceDesk software, they receive a "your request could not be sent" message. In the TO: address field it says Help Desk, but I never could find the way to specify the ServiceDesk email account. Is there a place that all of this gets set? I know that mail works on DC, because I get reports from it every day. Thanks, Dave
Cannot continue patching
I am using manual patching by selecting single or multiple computers and trying to patch, previously when I have the "draft download failed", I click on it and remove the failed patches and continue deployment and it successfully continues patching with the already downloaded patches, now its not doing that, it always displays draft download failed even I removed the failed patches. What is this problem. I am on the latest service pack and this problem appears on the newer version. Regards

Is there a way to deploy surface pro 2 and 3 firmware with desktop central? Since it comes from windows updates, we were hoping we could force this particular one, or prevent it.
Problem of Deploy software through HTTP path
Hello, I have try using the Desktop Central deploy some software like Acrobat Pro, MS Office(no test yet) allway not success. For the target system is locate in a remote office and manage by the distribution server. I'm choose the HTTP path to do the deployment. I have create a ".zip" package after refer Office Package and HTTP Way and upload to DC server. The package setting please check follows pictures it is refer by this topic . Service Desk Plus to Desktop Central Prompt
Hello, we have Service Desk Plus and Desktop Central setup on the same server and both are using https: for their URL's. Every time we go from SDP to DC it does not automatically bring up the window for DC. We get prompted in IE11 that only secure content is displayed and we have to hit the show all content button. Once we do this the DC page comes up but just trying to see how to get around this. We have also added the https: url into trusted sites in IE but are still having the same behavior.
Auto Patches Initiating Deployments Outside of Window
I have Automated Patches setup. It says Next Run Time : Today at 8:00pm and Current Status : Suspended. I went into the Policy and added an exception PC which needed to be skipped tonight. After saving it immediately started pushing patches at 10:00am. Why did it start pushing patches? The next run time was not until 8:00pm. Thank you, Cassie L Levett
Server patching with desktop central
Hello, We are trying to move our server patching from wsus to desktop central. However, we like that fact that we could start the update process directly from the servers manually. How can I get a similar behaviour with Desktop Central ? In other terms, I want to log on a server, execute something that will start the update process. Thank you for your help
View patch jobs or configurations from other technicians
We have a technician that has configured and running a patch job. Other technicians who are logged in are not able to view the patch job(s) or view the status of running patch jobs. We are looking under the 'Configurations' tab and then selecting 'Created by All'. Also on the 'Home' tab there is a 'Configuration Summary Report'. Can that also be made to reflect all Configurations instead of just the logged in technician?
Declined Patches still showing up
Since version 9 has come out, all the applications that i have set up to decline patches have started to show up as needed patches for the clients. Is there some feature or option im missing to stop these patches? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance.
Dynamic groups being used for scheduled restarts
I am trying to create dynamic groups that holds all of our user and use that group to to run scheduled restarts. When I go to add this dynamic group to scheduled restarts it does not show up. Wondering if this just is not possible or if I am going about it in the wrong way. Please advise.

What am I not getting? Patch jobs very unstable
I have hundreds of machines to patch. If I create a job to install all the patches, and a single patch fails to download, the entire job fails and I am still stuck with hundreds of unpatched machines. I cannot take the time to go through and create individual jobs for each patch, or for each system. Creating a blanket job to patch all the systems is the easiest way. Ladies and Gentlemen, I was trying to upgrade the computers to Adobe Reader XI, but only on the computers that currently have a version of Adobe Reader. Patch Management information is not the same as in Configurations
Good Morning We have a customer which has a lot of issues on his Desktop Central, On of these issue he is having is regarding Patch Management, The Missing Patches section always is showing that the computers are missing about 1052 but this number never changes. At the same time on the configurations the number shows that about 80 to 90% of the patches were applied successfully. Client has the latest build with is 90087 and everytime we upgrade his issues on the application do not get fixed.
PostgreSQL to MS SQL Migration
Hi I've started a migration of our Desktop Central database from the supplied PostgreSQL database to MS SQL server. If you have all the patches downloaded and ready - e.g. like a software deployment, then option to deploy immediately to a number of boxes works fine. But if there are patches to download - and the job has to wait until the Download In progress has finished, then the patches job is not started straight away, the boxes have to wait until a) MANUAL service restart b) MANUAL cfgupdate run c) up to 90 minutes for refresh. Segregate servers for patching
Hello, I have a question regarding Manage Engine's Patch management abilities. We have a group of 20 servers that would require us to approve any and all patches that are deployed to it. Can Manage Engine segregate those servers from the workstations that can all be automatically approved. I know that WSUS is capable of this, but it would be best to keep a consistent patch management system. Thank you.
How to remove empty workgroups from Branch Office list
We are standardizing on workgroup names and will eventually have only one workgroup per DC branch office. I have noted that the remote office/workgroups combinations remain even after all PCs have been removed from the remote office/workgroup. Is there a process to run on the server that deletes these unnecessary combinations? patch scan problem
When trying to deploy missing patches I am receiving the message "No data available Reasons: The computer is not scanned for identifying the vulnerable patches. scan now" , even though it is displaying 180 missing patches for the pcs I am trying to deploy patches for, and the scan status has finished today successfully, when I try to scan again the page remains on scanning and is not finishing scan. I have the latest DC9 SP.

Restrict access to Desktop Central web console to internal LAN only
Hi, Is it possible to restrict access to the Desktop Central web console to internal LAN users only ? We don't have a requirement for it to be accessed outside of the internal LAN. We still need MDM to work Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can go about this ? Regards Jonathan
Push Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013
I am trying to silently push out Office Pro 2013 to remote office computers. I followed the two guides for Deploy Office 2013 and Deploy via HTTP. When I push it to a test computer, I get "Pre-installation has failed: The system cannot find the file specified." I used the OCT and followed the instructions. Attached is a screenshot of my software deployment and the contents of the 7zip file.
Setup static ODBC Data Source
Is there a way to use Desktop Central to setup an application Data Source (ODBC) driver? My application needs one on each computer it runs on and in the past I had to go to each PC and manually set it up. The drive is a simple MSSQL database source.
Desktop Central reporting wrong DNS servers
When doing as asset scan or a custom report looking for the DNS setting of machines Desktop Central is reporting old DNS addresses that are no longer in use. Checking these machines they have either static or dynamic addresses and using ipconfig /all on either they report the correct DNS servers. Where would Desktop Central be finding the old addresses? What needs to be done to correct this issue?
Active X remote control not working after upgrade to 90087
I upgraded to 90087 over last weekend. Remote control with Active X was working before this update. Now it is not. You can connect to computers but the desktop never shows up. If you click on Show Desktop it does not show up either. All active x settings are the same as before. It does work with java. Thanks Mike

Reason to connect - turn off
Hello! Since upgrade to 90067 we are required to enter a reason for connecting to remote computer. As it is annoying, and those reasons are not important for us, it would be awesome if we could turn it off, so far I was unable to locate that option in DC. Can you give us option to turn it off? IE 10 Not Installing
When trying to deploy IE 10 via computer, the package gets sent and the user gets notified as designed. They click install and the client shows it is installing but eventually times out. When I look at the user machine, the installation .exe shows up in the task manager, but the CPU is 0 and the memory is at 1500K and does not move. The task eventually times out. Please build in installed application detection
Currently if you modify an existing software deployment, DC will attempt to reinstall software that is has already installed previously. This forces one to create another group or targeting so this doesn't happen. Support has told me the best way to detect if an application has been installed is to implement a pre-install script which is OK but it would be better if some kind of facility could be built in to check for some common conditions such as the existence of a file, existence of a registry
