Usage column in Scanned Software (assets)
How reliable is the Usage column in the Scanned Software section of assets? I have some users reporting "Frequently", other with "Rarely" and a lot with "Not Known". Is there a way to get the date the last time an application was used?

Hi All, This query is related to data archiving and version upgrade. Version : 8.0.0 Build 8016 We are deliberating for version upgrade. Before we upgrade, would like to archive old data. Is there any impact on archived data after version upgrade? Concern here is, once we upgrade, if we are not able to retrieve archived data, there are some issues. ServiceDesk integration
Hi, I have an intention to interact with ServiceDesk Plus in such way: I want my custom application to receive notifications from ServiceDesk Plus events (changing request status, assigning tickets to technician, etc). I can use existing API and ask for requests at regular intervals, but it's not seem like a perfect solution. Can you advise me some other ways? Thank you in advance.
Initial product installation
Is there a guide for the initial installation of servicedesk plus? I am having trouble finding the correct sql download/setup to get the product up and working. We are needing to use the trial to find out if this product will fit our needs.
Scanned software not detecting iis
Hello When I check the software tab on my server asset I find that IIS is not shown in the list. Is there a reason IIS is not shown now? The server is 2008 R2 x64.
Service Desk Plus with IT Project Management release 8200 is not what is availble in service packs?
I have Service Desk Plus enterprise edition installed and up to date with Patch 8127 and I recieved the notification today to Updated to 8200 to get Project Manager. Problem is when I go to get the service pack, it looks like 8.1 release 1 is what it is pulling. Is there an issue getting 8.2? I need to know as I do not want to step backwards.

Subject Field - Number of Chars displayed
Hello. The subject field is limited to displaying only the first 30char of the subject line. Is there any way we can make this show more? We want to be able to show a little bit more info in the subject line rather than having to mouse over every request to read the description. It would be much easier to see at a glance what each request is about. Thanks
AD Authentication Service Desk Plus
Hello when setting up AD authentication to allow AD authentication and import requesters, I want to setup a service account for this, what privileges does this account need? Not keen on granting Domain Admin privileges if it is now necessary. Michael

Hi, we are evaluating the software and we want to know if this is possible because this is not working for us. We create a formulary where the client creates an incident. After this a technician categoryze this assignin a category, subcategory and element. With a businness rules based on this fields we want to create many rules to assign the request to differents technicians. We create test rules based on this idea and is not working it don´t assign the technician. Any idea? Is this possible?

Built in Administrator account
Hello, can the built in Administrator account be updated to a different login ID and enabled to support AD passthru authentication? Right now, when I open SD+, I'm logged on automatically with my Windows account, then I must log out from SD+ and log back in using local Administrator.

Requester View: Clicking the top category for Service Catalog produce an error

I've set the value of the settings below to No: Admin > Self Service Portal Settings > Combine incident and service templates listing for the service In Requester View, when they hover on the Service Catalog shortcut at the top bar, the categories are "clickable", while the Issue Catalog doesn't. Clicking one of the top categories link will produce an error (see below). To prevent confusion to clients, is it possible to disable the "clickable" function? HTTP Status
Email Command REQUESTERE-MAIL not working
I currently have the email command parsing working. I can specify many items including REQUESTTEMPLATE, PRIORITY, etc. But one that doesn't work, an important one, is REQUESTERE-MAIL. My scenario is that I can creating a web page (the web server, email server, and SDP server are all internal, on-premises servers) that takes a request subject and request description and creates an email and sends it to SDP. I am going to create this email object (in C#) and specify the FROM as being a known requester.
Lost template? When use Show Incident / Service Request templates for technician
I believe that this option is available in version 8124 can be improved. If I, as administrator active this option, I no longer see the service template until I add myself to the group which was defined in the "Associate Groups to Template". Another idea is that many technicians are requester too, then I imagined that when activate this option the template stay as "requester mode" for technicians that aren't in the "Associate Groups to Template" because these technicias may need this template as
Replace Asset (workstation) whilst retaining relationships
Hi, I want to be able to replace an asset in ServiceDesk Plus whilst retaining the previous CI relationships. Specifically: If I swap a users workstation I would like the relationships that applied to the previous workstation (e.g. local printer) to apply to the new one. Is there any way of doing this? software licenses asset allocation
Hi, I have a product that we have purchased 600 licenses for, when I add the licenses into the assets so that I have 600 licenses listed that is fine. when I select site A, I see 600 licenses available, if I allocate 15 licenses to the workstations in that site, the available license count drops to 545 correctly. when I select site B, I see 600 licenses available again, not 545. How do I add the licenses so that when I allocate to different sites, it comes off the total number of licenses ?

Hi, SDP is recently implemented in our Windows environment. Scanning of Windows machines is successfully done but only for few which have internal issues. However, I have SAN storage devices (FAS270 & FAS2050) with SNMP enabled. How to scan those devices? Regards, Majid

HTTPS redirect doesn't work with mobile view

When viewed using mobile devices, it still managed to display the http version. I can, however, browse manually to https when in mobile view. We are on v7 of Service Desk Professional. When conducting a network scan, all of our CISCO routers and switches scan in as unknown workstations. I have specified the correct community string, and our monitoring suite detects them fine using the same string. Any ideas?

I am trying to add a custom field in the Service Desk forms customizer. I would like to create a new field about the size of the default description field with uneditable text populated in it. I am trying to put a notice on the form. I can seem to create little ones all over the place but nothing larger like the description field. Anyone have a suggestion?

Is it possible for servicedesk to send email notification once a request is assigned to a group on a certain site?
Im one of the technicians who receive requests from servicedesk. whenever someone assign a request to me, i get a corresponding email notifying me that a request has been assigned. that's the case with technician, right? This is our setup: our servicedesk is based in India. If a request should be resolved by another team, lets say windows group, the servicedesk analyst will assign it to the windows server group site (lets say Jakarta). The jakarta windows team will now pickup request from that filter
Email command subject
I understand that in order to send an email command, I have to use @@SDP@@ as the email subject to indicate that this email is a command. But how then do I actually give the request an actual subject or title? When I use @@SDP@@ as the subject, "Not Provided" is automatically used in the resulting request. Thanks.
User-created Templates
In what table do user-defined incident templates exist? I created a template called "Test Software Dev". It's not immediately obvious. I looked in the Templates table but I don't see it. I see other templates like "FileAttachmentKeyTemplate", "ConversationMigrationTemplate", and "UnInstallAgentTemplate" but not the one I created.
Adding groups from Active Directory
I need to have my groups out of Active Directory show up when a technicians sends a replay for a request. I have done a scan and made sure that it was checked but the do not show up when trying to respond to a request.
