Opmanager EE Installation
I'm having trouble installing Opmanger EE 5.6. I'm trying to install both the NOC and the Probe on the same server and only one will install correctly...the second install will break both installs. I install the Central server first on port 443. I can access the server by https://localhost and I have a probes tab. There is nothing under the probes tab or anything under the Maps tab. I am unable to Add any devices from the Admin Tab because I get a: dms.topo.actions.addnode.dmsName.notSpecified The

We are testing this product and have found that when the system sends emails out we get: This is an acknowledgement mail for your request. Your request has been created with id 10. The title of the request is : Test Help ticket. The status of the request can be tracked at http://HOBBES:8080/WorkOrder.do?woMode=viewWO&woID=10 . on hold jobs
chaps just done 2 service pack upgrades to get to 5001 with out any installation issues - thanks :-) but now im up to 5001 all the onhold jobs are not showing in the open requests view. My technicians need to see onhold/open on one screen and not have to keep going to all requests to find onhold requests with all the closed requests. It used to work great in SD4+ As a suggestion would it be possible to have an option on the setup of different status to have show in open requests or similar???? Ive

Opmanager Milestone 4 Issuses
I have now installed the new Milestone 4 release and it starts to look more like a complete package. But there are still some more issues to finish. 1. When trying to copy back already collected data back to ..MySQL\Data from an earlier version, it seems to be impossible. Even running all the fix db scripts gives only lots of java-errors and its impossible to start the OpManager server. Only solution is to reinitalize server & re-discover all the device again. 2. Requester and Assignee
Hi, I have imported the users from the Active Directory. Then I opened a Requester and converted it to Technicians. But the problem arises when I tried to revert that. That means, what if i want to convert a Technician to a Requester again? I did not find any solution to it. Do i have to delete the Technician and create the Requester again or wht? Purchase Order - Approval + Approved
Hi, I am using Version 5 of ManageEngine ServiceDesk plus. I have created a Purchase order and saved. I tried to send this PO for Approval by clicking on "Submit for Approval". It only opened another window where i have to specify the email address of the person whose approval we need. Now my question is whose email address should come here i.e. a requestor email address or Technicians Email address. I tried with both the options but whenever i click on the link which comes via email to either requestor/technician,
Custom Reports
Hello, Thank you for releasing the new upgrade path... I have installed it and we are up and running. However, Why isn't completed date in the Custom Reports? Can we add it? This should be in there! Survey after Upgrade
After we upgraded, when the system sends out a survey, it doesn't make the survey link a hyperlink in the e-mail. We use Outlook 2003. This worked before the upgrade. Any suggestions?
Windows NT scanning Problems
HI! I Am very pleased with the new version 5! But there is one thing I cant get right. When I scan for an Windows NT workstation, I almost always get these errors: FAILURE : One of the WMI components is not registered properly. Please report the problem to the system administrator, with the Error Code - 1.133.504.222.281. or: FAILURE : General failure while performing the operation but in some workstations, there is no problem with scanning. its the same language on the workstations and same servicepacks
Issue with Service Monitors not showing in Server Map
Hi I have been adding new servers to opmanager and have decided to trial using WMI rather than SNMP for gathering system stats. Am able to add the server in fine... set its type through the password section, monitor resources etc, and the services (eg web, sql ports) are auto discovered upon adding the server. However, I have been finding that servers that do not have SNMP enabled are not having their green status dots showing up in the detailed view for the server map, nor are they showing any services
database Locking
There is a DTS package which contains only one process as select * into temp_tbl1 from (select * from openqyery(linked_ser,'select * from act_tbl1)) where temp_tbl1 is my table at my local machine while the act_tbl1 is the table at the remote site from where i need to pull the data.... when ever i try to execute the package the whole local database gets locked for the time the package is executing. i can query the tables and views but i cannot look into their definitons can some one pls help
Restoring gives an error in the restore.log
Version : 5.0.0 Build Number : 5000 As part of testing, the database was backed-up using the following batch file cd c:\AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\bin call sd_service.bat -p call backupdata.bat call sd_service.bat -t Some changes were made to a request in Service desk. I stopped the service using sd_service.bat -p then the database was restored. (restoreData.bat) The restore appears to have worked as the recent changes were not there and there are no obvious problems. However there is a .....data_restore.log

OpManager 6 Scheduled Report Bug
We started using the Scheduled Report feature in Opmanager 6 and noticed these two bugs. 1. When creating a scheduled report, if you leave the Generate Reports to all Devices in this Business View unchecked, the scheduled report will still default to a business view. 2. When a scheduled report is created for Volumes with the least Free Space, the report is generated with the same information as the Volume with the Most Free Space. Error importing active directroy
I've just installed the new Service Pack for Active Directory, but I'm still having problems, The error message that I get is: No response received from workstation. HI Advent Net, Well i just recently tried to update to the latest released and no joy. I updated to SP12 then to the new 5.0 upgrade. When i tried to start the server again the java applet did not load. After checking to see if the service had started it had not. So i tried to start the applet to find it would not start. Processing Imported Log Files taking foreever
I've imported 20 (10 are 500Mb - 10 are 1.9Gb) syslog files into Firewall analyzer and it is taking forever to process the logs. Under the Import File Status Window - 6 have Imported Logs Completed, 4 have Generate Reports and 10 have Processing Request under status. It has been 4 days since I imported the log files; why does it take so long to process these logs I'm running Win2k3 SP1. Thanks.

Is it possible to have pass the user and password via post or get? We have the link to our kbase and help desk on our intranet and don't want the user to have to login in again.
Report Viewing Errors
We are evaluating NA (downloaded yesterday) and am interested in purchasing but have a problem when trying to narrow down the time window. We have a spike everyday @ 0945 so I ran a report from 0930-0950 (see attachment). However, when I click on one of the protocols, it shows no data available. I tried 0930-0945 and the same result but 0930-1000 gives me details but no data in the volume view up top.
How can i set a temperature monitor on a intel processor?
Hello. I'm so sorry if this has benn answered before, but i looked this up in the whole site and found nothing about it. I'm interested in monitoring the cpu temperature of a intel processor in a windows 2003 server. Is there a mib file that i can load in opmanager or something like that? I found some mib files in the intel webpage, but they are just for switches and stuff. Thank you.
Logging into web console problems
Hi Have upgraded to V6 of opmanager, and cannot log into the web console properly anymore. I can get to the main screen fine, and log in and get to the home page, but when I try and click on any link or tab, I get thrown out to the login screen again. This happens in IE6 on XP SP2. When I use firefox, it all works fine. Have set security to low etc and allowed cookies and all the usuall stuff, but still not working. Any ideas? Thanks David
My Request on hold
You have My Open Request My Overdue Request and so on But how about my Onhold request, the only way to show request onhold is to choose (all request), how to fix this?
Filtering OnHold Requests
Hi, first of all good job on this new version 5! One point though.... We are now struggling with the OnHold Requests since there is no option to filter by them. In the previous version these were at least shown in the Open Request (basically they are open requests....) Could this at least have the same behaviour as before???? Or create a OnHold requests and a My OnHold Requests on the Filter? Best regards Jo�o Silva

Update Problem
HI, I'm currently Using version 4.1.0 but If i go to Advennet Update Manager I can see SP12 is Installed, maybe he's not installed correctly, I tried to uninstall it without success, and if i try to reinstall SP12 he sais the SP12 is already Installed. perhaps I cannot upgrade to version 5. Wake On Lan -- script
Hi, I would like to once-a-week turn on desktops in one of our remote locations, at around 11:30pm, in order for them to run virus scans and updates. I know that OpUtils includes the wake-on-lan feature, but is there any way this could be added to OpManager so that we could turn on some of our lesser-used machines? Thanks :)

Is there any way that managers (as requesters) can view the reports? I have copied the links to the various reports that they would need to see, but on navigating to the location, it asks you for a username and password.
Successful Upgrade from 4112 to 5100... but
Firstly, many thanks for the release of the upgrade: I have applied to my Test server but; The MySql migration log throws some really scary messages around unique constraint violations and not null columns containing nulls but appears successful ?!? Has anyone else encountered the same issue? Other (non-imps) Issues Also, can we lose (or at least make optional) the mandatory "Quick Create" section on the Requestor Home Page? NFA- Drive space
I am burning 10gigs a day with NFA. Have you come up with a solution to offset this burn rate or be able to offload the data to another server and still be quickly available for reporting?
IP Groups practical Limit
This is a great Product! I've been testing it for about 20 days and will be getting it for our ISP. I was wondering what the implications of adding IP groups are? For example if we created a group for every IP address (about 4000 ip's) would it make the reporting much slower? I've been testing it on 3 ghz 2gb ram 100gb drive Windows 2003 server. Would it run faster with mulitple processors or if I ran it on a Linux system similiarlu equipped? Thanks, Obetwo

OpManager 6.0 - problem with NLB cluster IP addresses
Hi, I've got two Windows Server 2003 boxes. Each has its own IP address, plus an NLB IP address on the same interface. When I discover the devices, only one device's interface appears on the device snapshot page. If I rediscover the second device, the interface graph disappears from the first. If I rediscover the first one, it disappears from the second one. etc. etc. etc. :) The IP address that gets used for the graph is the NLB IP address; is there any way I can alter the database to force the
Server Half-Down?
I'm having a problem where occasionally the problem we are having escapes OpManager's notice. This is what generally happens. One of our servers is rebooted and hangs during reboot, but OpManager can still ping the server, so it doesn't show any errors. When I attempt to do tests on the monitors, they report back that they couldn't communicate, and yet the view of the server shows green. If I am telling it to connect (say to CPU) and it can't and is giving me red, shouldn't the status notice just

1) What is the recomended hardware to monitor 2 routers, 3 interfaces in total transporting about 200 mbit/s We are currently using the free version of netflow analyser on a pentium IV 2.0 GHz but generating reports is extremely slow (2 hours to generate 1 report), seems to be coused by loads of write operations by the Mysql daemon. 2) Is it possible to get information about the followed AS Paths, we are currently monitoring an internetexchange port and 2 transit ports, however it would be helpfull
Cannot monitor SQL2k
Hi, I've read through the different posts in here, and done everything that peaople suggest. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem. When adding MSSQL monitoring in OpManager 6.0 I do not get a response from the server when testing them. I've started the SQLAgent service that has been suggested. Does anyone have a similar problem? I have a SQL Server and we want check the SQL Information. We have activat SNMP and al is running if we Check Memory and other things. If we want Monitor SQL Function than we became this Message: The Monitor did not respond to the test request . Monitor Name MssqlInfoUserConnections Protocol SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.4.1.1.2.1.16 The Server is in a other Subnet (195.125.1.....) The OPManager is in (192.168.100...) If I Check a Server in the same Subnet than all is running fine. Can you help me?
