Cisco still not working
I am still unable to get syslog messages from Cisco devices running IOS or CATos to show up. The cisco devices are correctly configured to send syslog data, I have verified this by installing Kiwi syslog daemon on the same box as log analyzer. When I run kiwi I see syslog messages, when I run ELA I do not see any data from the cisco devices. I have followed the instructions in this forum,, but something is not working in ELA. Thanks, Gene
Linux admin client / business views?
Hello, We'd like to setup business views for OpManager. From what I've read, we need the Admin Client to do that. The problem is we don't have all the rpm's loaded on our Linux box and we don't have don't have any x-client software. Is there any other way to configure the business views? Can we install a windows client/server and somehow connect to the Linux box? We have lots of PC's that we could do that on. Thanks, Frank
OpManager Server will not start in Fedora 3
Every time is try to start the server I get this error. "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." Then every thing starts to shutdown. I am running Fedora 3 and the latest version of opmanager. Corey
unmanaged devices turn back on?
no other administrator turns my devices back to 'manage' but yet every wed they seem to reenable? (rediscovery is turned off for these devices)
Removing OpManager 6.0
HI, I installed OpManager 6.0 on my windows 2003 enterprise machine and then uninstalled it. Now when I install 5.6, it installs successfully but at the end error come �Unable to start OpManager as a service� . In services Manage OpManager service is in automatic and started state. When I try to run OpManager client, it says �check if server is running�. I believe that version 6 is not uninstalled completely and it has still occupied the system, because when I again tried to install 6 it installed
AD Store on primary DC missing info and speedometer
As shown in the following screenshots my secondary DC has the requested info and speedometer shown while the promary DC does not have all the requested info. Both use the same admin account in domain\username format. Both have ntds.dit files on the "C" drive. I've done refreshes/rediscovers several times and the AD dashboard has been installed for 2 days now. Any idea why the N/A under used disk space and the lack of the speedometer? chris
Contact Number Wrong
We are just trying to demo this system at the moment and have imported our users from active directory. When a request is created the contact number displayed is the users mobile number, rather than their desk phone number, is there a way to change this?
Free Edition + Windows monitors
I installed the free edition (Linux) accidently selecting the trial period version. When the 30 days is up will this revert to the Free Edition, or do I have to re-install? Second, I remember a few versions ago the option to use Windows WMI, as well as to monitor Windows services (RPC, Print Spooler, SNMP, etc..) but I no longer see this option. I remember there was the ability for Opmanager to query the server and then I could select which services to monitor. Has this been removed or do I need
Monitoring Exchange services
Hello! I've been deploying the Application Manager at vmware machines and have faced the following problem: i have an exchange server. it works in a proper way, but when i tried to add mailserver monitor, i could not specify any ports where exchange services were running: the system shows red warning ''the service is not running" :( snmp is enabled on the exchange server, the server is online and I can monitor memory, disk utilization, etc. , but I can't view any information on exchange services.
Time Format change
Was wondering how you can change the time format when you have a look at the comments and bnotes added, at the moment it is set as Year/Month/Day I would like to change it to Day/Month/Year
PDF Reports
I've been looking at the PDF files of the reports in SupportCenter. In my opinion, their not very presentable for distributing. They appear to be just the data table headings and data in a table. Is there any way of making the PDF files look just like the web page screen? This would be more useful in a business meeting environment. Thanks
Disk Utilization
Hello, Disk Utilization isn't reporting the correct number. For example, the SNMP graph for one server is showing 100% full, but is really 80% (85% using df). Migration from WUG
I am trying to migrate from WUG and I have a number of SNMP Monitors. When I copy the OID frmo teh Services.inf file into the custom services and assign to a map the service does not get the desired result. I use the WSTC informant MIB Is there a easier way to migrate the OIDs and how can I set up a VEndor specific monitor using WSTC informant?
Customize Infrastructure Views and change device type
I'd like to find out if it's possible to customize the Infrastructure Views to remove certain links such as Firewalls, UPS, and add my own links? Also, for device type, I'd like to create different icons for different desktops such as MCE2005, Tablet2005, rather than grouping everything into Windows XP. I did create icons and added new device types, however, they fail when I try to enable WMI monitoring until I change the type back to Windows XP. Any help would be much appreciated.
Adding attachments to an existing ticket not working.
I understood that the newer 5.0.0 build 5003 to have the option allowing requesters to add attachments to an existing ticket. I have not be able to find this option as a requester or the setting to enable this option for requesters. As a technician I can attach files and would think this option can be made available to requesters. Please advise. Danny
Mass deleting monitors
Hello, The Quick Configuration Wizard allows me to add monitors to multiple servers (although only one at a time), however I can't find out how to delete monitors from multiple servers. I have a resource monitor that I want to delete from a few hundred servers. Any ideas?
URL encoding for attachments
A user submitted an attachment to a ServiceDesk request through email. The file included an ampersand in the file name. The link to the attachment within ServiceDesk did not work until I changed the URL encoding for the ampersand. Is this a known bug?
starting problem in Opmanager installed in Redhat AS 4
Guys I already installed and used the opmanager on my FC4 but I want it on my AS 4 I try to start the StartOpmanagerServer.sh and got this error, try kevins suggestion about the libs.so something and change the port no of mysql but still got this error inside addon check Unable to start Mysql daemon Unable to create database Exiting OpManager so what will I do to solve this problem.. thank guys

Possible new feature - auto assigning technicians
Hi there, We have been using SD+ now for a few months and are really pleased with it. One thing I am starting to find though is that technicians are not assigning the tasks to themselves before closing, so when I report on closed requests I keep finding lots without a technician assigned. Would it be possible for SD+ to automatically assign the current technician when they enter a resolution? Also it would be really nice to have a button on the "Enter resolution" screen that will have the info and
interface speed does not match (ver 5)
Hello, I just installed version 5 and exported data from my Cisco routers 3825 and 2821 running ios 12.4.4T1. I only enabled netflow on interface gigabit0/0. I see Two interface index 1 and 12 in netflow analyzer. Does anyone know why? It displays the interface speed is 1Mbps instead of 1000Mbps. How can I fix this? Thanks Phong
Reload previously created data
I installed the application and it ran for a few days, then it stopped logging all together. I de-installed, re-installed. Now I can't see the original logs that were created. They do exist in the archive folder. Please tell me how I can get this data back into the application. Thank You, John Tompkins
Custom OID not working
If I specify a formula in a custom monitor, such as... (.1.3.6.1.4.1.1234.1.40.1.4)/6000 The monitor doesn't work. Note that this is on a table OID, which works without the formula.

Display folder permission - should be set like the articles
Hi there, while working with SC+ we managed to get used to the simple file structure of the knowledge base by re-ordering our data. However we would like to not display one folder including all subfolders and messages (opt.) inside. So that we have one are for our technicians to post their current data of service of our machines on site (like a logfile for our machines status, repairs and other stuff related). Currently It is possible to set the post invisible, we would like to have the same option
Error messages/warnings when installing patches
Hi there, whenever I install a Patch (5006 or 5007 today) I get a somewhat tricky warning displayed in the DOS-box. However the installation runs seemless and it says 100% installation of patch completed. Just wonder if this could affect some parts of the software at another point? (Inside SCPostProcessor?) access limitation
There is a feature for limiting access to technicians for contracts, PO's etc., but there is a requirement for data segregation within assets, requests etc. We do not want all the requests or assets seen by all the technicians.
WOL not working
The WOL feature does not seem to be working for us. When OpUtils was installed and upgraded to SP2, we were able to utilize the WOL feature to wake up computers one at a time. However, when we created a full list of IP addresses and did a batch WOL command, this feature then stopped working. After that, we lost the ability to do a WOL to single IP addresses. The only way we could get this feature back was completely uninstall and reinstall. Any help???
Notification of specific traps
Dear Support, I'd want OpManager to execute a system command automatically whenever an alarm is raised in the network (that is send a notification) according to a specific trap received (maybe based on trap OID...). Is it possible? Thanks.

Is it possible to customize the groups (server, printers, wireless, etc) on the Home page Dashboard? We have various different product grouping and would like to see all the servers associated with a single product grouped together. One Suggestion for NULL Interface
Hi, In my Cisco router I using rate-limit command on my subinterfaces, for all my clients group. I using MRTG and graphics from MRTG and NFA are identical with 40-50 Kbps differents. I understand where is the loss this 40-50 Kbits. This is the dropped packets (in NetFlow - destination interface is NULL). In MRTG I display traffic that clients received, in NFA I display traffic that router received for this clients. I HAVE ONE SUGGESTION: Added option in IP Group Management include or exclude NULL
