Category/Sub-Category Clarification
If you use sub-categories, can you report on the main category which includes all it's subcategories? Example: Category: Network Subcategory: DNS Subcategory: WINS Subcategory: Routing Subcategory: VPN Is it possible to run a report showing all tickets in the Network category, which includes DNS, WINS, Routing and VPN sub-categories WITHOUT having to explicitly adding those sub-categories to the report?
SC+ slow to update, e.g. on sorting requests, searching
Hi there We have SC+ on an external server (i.e. third party server). We are finding that SC+ can be quite slow. For example, select all requests and sort by Account (by clicking on Account column) - this can take ages. I know that this depends on our internet connection speed etc, but I was wondering if there are any recommendations or best practices for e.g. optimising the SC+ database. Our backups are now up to 200 MBs and presumably this will get a lot bigger. Also, is there any other way of
Adding notification profile to multiple devices
Hi, To make life easier I wanted to created multiple notification profiles for several types of servers. I created one called mail_servers, so after that I would be able to associate it to multiple exchange servers at once. So I select the profile called mail_servers, but when I have to define the criteria for this profile, I cannot select the exchange monitors? I'm able to go to the device itself, add the profile, edit the rules overthere and it will work. This way however, you still have to edit
Cisco Switch 3550-48 ports down
Hi, Recently install OpsManager. Created 8 switches and 2 Routers. Switch 3 shows error on ports: "SW3-38..170 Ports 8, 12, 18, 20, 23, 29, 30, 35, 41, 45, 48 are down Trouble Switch Feb 16,2007 10:26:26 AM. I checked all data ports physically and all PC and Printers are up and running at 100MBS on the troubled ports. There seems to be no problem with the network. Switch has SNMP protocol running. Does anyone know why I would receive port errors in OpsManager. Thanks Chris

When doing AD authentication at logon, is there a way to set the domain to a default setting instead of choosing it each time without using the "Remember Me" function?

Problems with importing from Active Directory
we have two issus with importing users from AD: * When importing users from AD, users with non-english characters in the login name are not included (non-english charcters in common name seems OK, but we only have this for one user) * In the AD-tree not all OUs are expanded. I have a Dell 2724 managed switch that I added into OpManager and when I try to add a monitor it prompts for a password to use for Telnet. This switch is not capable of telnet. How am I able to monitor this switch or is there not a way?
Monitoring problem using TELNET
Hi, When I have used the previous version of OpManager 5.5 I haven't had a problem with monitoring resources using telnet connection. With the new one 5.6 I am not able to use Telnet based monitors for Solarise. I put correct values for login and password but didn't work. I saw message TCP INCORRECT CHECKSUM using Ethereal. I am doing a eval and we need to save the backup file by a specifiy name. Is it possible to change the name of the file being backed up by tftp. I want to use the hostname or IP as the file name. Hi @ all, we've downloaded the trial version of the Netflow Analyzer 5.5.0 Build Nummer : 5503. I have configure various Router to send the sflow traffic to the Netflow Analyzer instead of our other sflow software. But I still have 2 problems : 1. How can I delete Routers which doesn't send sflow data anymore? 2. In all report graphics i can't see the actual 10 minutes. Hello, I installed NetFlow Analyzer on a linux platform without graphical interface (debian) I had to install it with the "-console" option at the end. Once installed I can see that mysql is loaded and netflowanalyzer is launched, but I cannot access the web portal. It seems that it doesn't open the port. Notification when PO Created
I'd like to be able to set up a business rule to notify a supervisor when a PO is created so that we don't have to manually check every day. The only option I see is to notify the owner when the PO is overdue. Can you tell me how to set this up? Thanks! Looking forward to the new version!
Time Spent field required
Looking at the 6.0 demo, it appears that Time Spent is not an option for requiring an entry to close a request. Correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm right, can that please be added. We need to track time spent on requests and this would be aided if every completed request required a time spent entry.

Custom Mointor Error
every time i click on Add Custom Monitor, i get a web page that just displays message 'Error'. I have noticed many previous posts that relate to this exact same problem and opmanager support has suggested that this is a bug and hence the file 'opmanager_graphInfo.xml' needs to be sent and edited by support. Am i required to do the same thing?
Daylight Savings Time update?
The USA has changed the dates on which daylight savings time is applied. DST will now start at 2AM on Sunday, March 11 and will end on Sunday, November 4. From what I've been reading, older versions of the Java runtime environment will be impacted by this change. Is the Java version that SD+ is running on already patched for this problem, or will we need to apply some sort of patch manually? Please advise, since the new DST period starts in less than a month. I am not able to see my Active Directory performance counters in OpManager. I have tried executing the command �wmiadap.exe /f� on the domain controllers but without success ( I still get the status N/A). All other performance monitors are working OK. Any idea of what is going on or how to fixit? Screech

I have tried to configure a linux host running on debian 3.1 stable without success. I had tried while changing parameter in the file /etc/syslog.conf first. Restarted the deamon # CONFIGURATION LINUX OPENMANAGE *.* @192.168.1.61 This wasn't working so: # CONFIGURATION UNIX HP&CIE *.emerg;*.alert;*.crit;*.err;*.warning;*.notice;*.info;*.debug @192.168.1.61 not working again... So I moved to syslog-ng apt-get install syslog-ng (I had debugged the script file because of a error relating to kernel (/etc/init.d/syslog-ng)

URL monitor fails w/error code 200 even when set to ignore
I have a URL monitor that the server Applications Manager resides on can hit fine. When the AppMan URL monitor tries, it comes back with an error 200 code.
