map database to different location / migrate database
Hi, Today i've got a message on Netflow, the server disk space is only 1GB. I believe Netflow is saving the databace as default on disk c:. I would like to change this setting to a second disk on the server. We added a disk D: with lots of room. Please, let me know how to tell netflow to start saving information on our new disk. SNMP - ifTable - Monitor specific ports
I am monitoring a Cisco 2600XL switch via SNMP. Can you tell applications manager to only send alerts when a specific interface is down, instead of sending an alerts when any interface is down. For example, the switch has PCs on ports 1 to 23, and the uplink on port 24. I only want to monitor port 24. I dont care when a PC goes down. Thanks for your help. Andy
How can i add Lotus Domino Service Montors ?
We've installed OpManager 7 Premium Edition and added a Server for testing OpManager with. On that Server SNMP ist activated and also the WMI-Service is up and running. We miss the Lotus Domino Application / Service Monitors for this server. The SNMP Agent for Domino is running and if we do a request with a mib browser on a workstation to that server the request is correctly answered with information about the domino server. How do we have to activate / Add the Lotus Domino Monitors to the device
Custom Reports
I am trying to create a custom report that shows all tickets for the current day that were "resolved" - we set the status to resolve and then it auto closes after 24 hours. The issue is that there is no "resolveddate" field like there is "completeddate" so if I do the report based on the "completeddate" it doesnt show anything from the current day. WMI for MSSQL not showing any values any more
Hi, I am using OPManager build 7102 premium I monitor my MS-SQL-Server and it worked fine. However with our last Patchday we installed a lot of hotfixes from Microsoft. Since then all my WMI-monitors show N/A. WMI is working. When I test my credentials, I get the message, that it works. SNMP also works. I also get events from my windows-eventlog. But No SQL-monitors any more. I tried WMIADAP /F on my SQL-Server. But I am not able to restart all MSSQL-services since the maschine is in use by all users.
Deleting Requests
Is there any way that even if requests are deleted that they are kept in a table?? We are an American company that needsto abide by SOX compliance and SD+ is used for financial systems access and permissions granting etc, and of late there are requests that seem to have just disappeared, there are 2 admins, myself and another of my staff who I have worked with for 3 years, and she is adamant the request was not deleted by her! Trouble with SLA
Hi I am evaluating the Application Manager 8 and I can't seem to find a way to do a few things. Neither I found anything in the forum .... so ... I thought I would ask or put them in as an enhancement request. One I can create a new SLA but i can't delete it. Where or how I do? and Two And in this situation ... what we can done? Is correct? The scenario is : I have an user X with a role manager. Then I assigned to him only a group monitor. Then this user accesses to appmanager, He logs to the aplication.
Contact conversations show incorrectly in client portal
Hi, We've upgraded to 7007 and are testing the client portal before we allow our clients access to the system. We've discovered that the contact conversations of requests show all entries as being from Support. This is obviously incorrect as some are from the clients themselves! Is it possible to fix this as it's very confusing for clients who aren't familiar with the system, and makes the system look quite cheap :( Andy

ITIL Change Management
Dear all, I am currently evaluating SD+ Enterprise Edition for my organization and will like to know your comments on ITIL Change Management. Basically, I feel that this module is not really comprehensive enough. The controls were not strong and proper workflow is not established. Let me highlight some of them 1) Once a Change Request is raised, depending on the Change Type, if it's Major, Approval is a must. For this, any person with admin rights is able to close this change request without Approval.

Hi, We are OpManager system and I'm trying to get a Cisco Catalyst 2960 monitored. OpManager doesn't seem to have much support for this switch although it's a VERY popular series in the Cisco Router family.. Can anyone tell me how to get the Catalyst 2960 running with OpManager? Problem with importing asset list
I am having trouble while importing a list of servers from "csv" file . I have created a product type called servers and i select it in the asset tab and here i use the tab import from "csv" file . The result should be that the imported server list is under the product type "servers" but the imported list is not stored under the "servers" product type and are displayed as product type. Health Alerts confusing JVM Heap and CPU thresholds...
-- NEWBIE -- I've been running the Application Manager for a couple of days now and there is a continuous alert for Health stating that my JVM Heap is > 90 bytes. Of course my JVM Heap is greater than 90 bytes so I tried to find out how to reset that threshold (not an easy task in itself). I finally found a page that allows editing some of the health thresholds but it does not include an option for setting the JVM Heap Size (even though there is a message about it at the top). Tasks - email notices do not include request ID in subject
Hi, We are using the "task" feature along with our request. When a task is assigned to a technician it assigns a task number/id to it. This task ID is inserted in the subject that is emailed to the technician. If for some reason the technician "replies" to the task email it opens a completely new request. Is there a way to embed the ##requestId## in the subject of the email? Another option would be for Service Desk to file all Task replies with the orginating request. Thanks, Jerry
Run various show commands against a device
I want to use DeviceExpert to run various show commands against a set of devices. All the devices are cisco and are different model numbers. After running the show commands I would like the output to be saved as text files with the name of the text file containing the version number, the name of the device and the date/timestamp that the file was created. I don't want a PDF like the option currently provides in the custom scripting section. Is there a way to do this and if so can you please specify

If you name an IPSLA monitor and delete it, you cannot reuse the name later. eg If you name an IPSLA "test", you cannot reuse "test" again, you need to use "test1", "test2" etc which gets a bit frustrating if you have done this over a few weeks especially as you have to close and reopen the window and retype all the settings again Also, if you set up a "WAN Monitor" on a device that does not support it you still get a message that it has been done, it still shows up in OpManager but obviously never

My company is getting rid of sql2000 servers which our current SDP is on. I need to know if I need to do anything special when converting to sql2005? Is it just backing up the data in the app then restoring it into a new sql2005 db? Or is it not possible?

SDP 7.0.0 Build 7018 crashing with SQL Server 2005
Hi, I'm experimenting a serious issue with SDP 7.0.0 Build 7018 and SQL Server 2005, from time to time SDP queries are going into suspended mode in the SQL Server and then the SDP server is no more functional. The actual workaround is to stop the SDP service, restart it and kill all blocking process on SQL Server, is there any other way to fix this? Regards, Patrick.

Hi there, I have been searching around to see how I can resolve this issue but I am having no luck with this at all. I am running 7.0.0 Build 7017 I had an issue where Symantec was blocking ports ICMP 0 and 8 and other ports from SQL server, this is now fixed applying/newer version of Symantec I was given to update on the policy the client computers which took the Symantec firewall off as the server firewall gives the protection. On the server it is configured to let the SQL server scan all clients.
7.0.0 Build 7018: asset association prevents update
I would like to submit the problem described for a bug fix. I am observing a problem where an asset will not allow update. The system pops up a message indicating 'Kindly select an asset' when I attempt to update. Further, the edit resource screen does not display the radio buttons 'Associate to Asset' and 'Assign User and/or Department'. The section below where the radio buttons should be displays the user and department information. The source code for the page does not include the radio buttons
Test drive SDP 7 beta
Hi, We did test drive SDP 7, 1st off all to see if ssh was working. I'm very pleased to see ssh is no supported in SDP 7. While running a scan on a Windows Dell server returns all expected information, a scan on a scan on a RHEL Dell server, only returned basic information on the hardware, and no information about the installed software. With regard to the hardware: the Dell service tag and model info are missing Note, we don't have the Dell mib installed on the Linux box, according to Dell the service

J2EE Webtransaction with Websphere
