Processes and Filesystems monitoring

Processes and Filesystems monitoring

Hi,

I have a problema here about monitoring Linux processes and filesystems.

I configured the snmpd.conf on each device correctly, got the OIDs correctly and everything was perfect until now.

To add a monitor with an OID i have to go to linux templates, and each process OID will be diferent on devices (the OID on each process will be made by the "Proc process" order on snmpd.conf)

It would be solved if i could add a monitor individually on devices without adding them on the device templates.

The only solution was making the same snmpd.conf file on all devices, with processes and fss, but i was now allowed. It would wortk because, even if the process don`t exist on the system, the OID is still created.

There are other monitoring softwares (not mention names, unpolite) that get automatically the filesystems that i configure on snmp configuration file. i think they get running rocesses too so i can select and configure tresholds.

Thanks for the help, i don`t want to make generic monitor names, so everyone needs to search what process of filesystem the alarm is talking about.
