I was requested by my manager to provide a report of the site availability and bandwidth usage per site - remote sites connected over the WAN. On each site I monitor the router (primary and backup line), the LAN switches (ports versus the router + server ports if are) and servers (if are): - Availability - I was looking for something similar as for the servers but there is no availability reports for routers and switches. I monitor the routers using the loopback IP address. I was thinking to add on each router the LOOPBACK as interface - should be fine since this one should be up disregarding if the site is working on main line or backup line but there isn't a way to get the report just for these specific interfaces; - Bandwidth usage - the only way now it to run a report of the usage on all interfaces and take out just the needed one, but I need to rename all primary and backup line descriptions to include the router name because in the report is missing the column with the router proprietary of the interface;
I encounter also another situation when a specific monitor is deployed on several devices (servers, routers, switches, etc) but i cannot have a report on that specific monitor for a list of selected devices: - Router Temperature; - Windows Server Temperature; - NETWORK APPLIANCE specific monitor; - VMWare specific monitor;
Can you consider some custom reports where more options are available like: - ROUTER AVAILABILITY - based on the ping on the LOOPBACK interface - the old data type version 6 was not bad either with MTBF and MTTR parameters; - CUSTOM REPORTS - select more devices (router1, router2, etc) for which the report will run like CPU load, temperature, or any monitor available for those devices, etc; - INTERFACES BY TX/RX - have the posibility to place a filter containing a specific word based on which different interfaces will be part of the report (containing a specific word: MPLS, backup, primary, secondary, lookback, etc.);
