in IP Address Manager as I create the subnets to scan. I set "view per page" pull down from default of 25.. to something else like 100... and as it scans it resets the drop down back to a default of 25.. this happens in other tools where there is a default "View per page" also john gartley
Unable to add devices "Device not reachable"
Hello I have confirmed that i can reach my devices with ping and SNMP, I have also added the correct SNMP credentials to the Credential Library. But when I try to add a device I get the error message "Device not reachable" when trying to add the device. I also tried to Discover Devices but it returned 0 devices. It wasn't me that installed our OpMan but I have no one around to ask at the moment. I might be missing something fundamental here :) I checked the log file and it only shows the discovery

Test monitor fails while snmp request using MibBrowser works
I'm evaluating OpManager before buying it, and I have some performance monitors problems for Linux servers. I have the "Snapshot view displays "No Data" for CPU, Memory or Disk utilization" problem, I've checked the "Troubleshooting Snapshots and Graphs". When I use the Mib Browser, set up host and snmp community, and request ".1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.11.0" using "UCD-SNMP-MIB.mib", it works fine and I get the answer. Hello. Why if i set interface monitoring interval less than 300 sec ( i set 30 sec or 60 sec), interface traffic graph not displayed?
Linux software list, Map,issues
when i scan linux machines, there is nothing listed down in the installed software page, can you help me if i am missing something while scanning, linux box snmp is enabled , flavours are : redhat, debian, sco, sun please help as i have posted this many times, i do face loads of issues with Opmanager, like my system hanging and yahoo messenger pops up ,bla bla bla but firstly i want to sort this out i tried as you said, snmp is configured but doesnt fetch details Loading MIBs .\mibs\RFC1213-MIB Done.
Problems with opmanager 7
Opmanager 7 appears to stop monitoring devices after a few days, the 'availability distribution' graph goes blue (not monitored). This is only fixed by a reboot.
How delete alarm recognized
Hi, I download OpManager 7.0 and I want to compare with MOM, but I had a problem. When I clear or delete an alarm, when this alarm is reproduced, I want just receive only one mail for this alarm, I don't want only this alarm returns one second time. Thanks, for any response. :cry:
Graph on switches are not displayed
Hello, I am using Opmanger 7.0 (Build 7002) to monitor my switches. I can see the switches and the snmp string is good. Error packets are recorded. If I look at traffic analysis ther is data (time intraffic outtraffic) But the graph is not displayed (red cross) In the interfaces list Rx Traffic and Tx Traffic Errors are NA If I look at another switch some graphs are displayed some are not. What should I do to trouble shoot this? Skipper (NL)
SNMP queries not working
Hi Just installed the free version of OpManager on Linux. I got it to detect the machines on our network and added 10 of them to monitor. I am unable to get the s/w to report on the performance through SNMP To isolate the issue, I ran the LinuxAgent from Adventnet on one machine with 8001 port option. I then tried to query from the OpManager ( Setting the port to 8001 through the admin->SNMP Parameters form ) It doesnt connect. Is there something more I need to do ( please be aware that I am a complete
switch reporting critical errors constantly
I'm trying to configure all my equipment into opmanager and a strange thing happened when I started doing my switches. They are HP 4108's and everytime someone turns off a computer or disconnects from the network I get a critical error that a interface is down. I could see this being important on a router, but this is common on a switch. In the Log on the switch itself nothing is listing as a error so why would its be reporting it as a critical error, and how do I get around it. I like to see green
Trial teething troubles
We are running a trial of Opmanager and have a few queries 1. I have set up some business views but when I hover over the links I get the a pop up "No interface object associated with this link" What does it mean and how can I resolve it to show link information and details. 2. Our switchs and routers can't run port mapping as the error bridge-mib no associated comes up. How do we associate the bridge-mib with the devices. 3. How Can I Add Monitors for Dell Poweredge - I have the MIBs
Sorry - I'm really new to the SNMP thing. I've got the Dell server MIBs and can import them with the MIB browser, but after import when I click on Maps in OpManager to see my servers, click on one and add a monitor it doesn't show the new stuff. I don't know what to do. Any help appreciated!
SNMP fails - OID implemented into the MIB
This product looks sweet - but I'm just having a difficult time getting it to work over SNMP with my Windows 2000/3 servers and custom MIBs from Dell. If I discover a device with WMI it reports processor, disk and memory statistics without issue. However if I try and use SNMP nothing works. If I open up the MIB browser and send a request that fails also. Driving me crazy! Of course my community string is the same in the SNMP agent service on Windows as it is in OpManager. OpManager and SQL 2005
Hello, Having some difficulty with OpManager's SQL Services and SQL 2005. I can add the pertinent SQL 2005 monitors with no issue, but all statistics show N/A and after a period of time the device snapshot page appears to drop the monitor(s) completely. I've tried removing and rediscovering the server to no avail. SNMP and WMI are both working correctly on the machine. Having no issues monitoring a SQL 2000 server on the same subnet. Any help would be appreciated.
Mailflow Checking
We have 1 Mail Gateway Spam and Viruschecking Server in the DMZ and 1 Exchange Frontend Server and also one Exchange Backend Server. Now we monitor the Mail Traffic over this Servers every 5 min. We have a Tool for this Process. This Tool send automatically a E-Mail to a ext. E-Mail Account. This Account replays the e-mail automatically to our Mail Server. Our Monitoring Tool checks if the E-mail is arrived or not. It's possible to check the E-Mail Traffic also with OpManager Msp. Ed.?

How can i send alerts to a Pager with OpManager? And can i send also a Control Message if everything is okay to the Pager for example every Day at 8pm?

Where are the event logs?
Hello, I have been trying out OpManager, Event Log Analyzer, and Application Manager, trying to see which one will be the best fit. I am having a hard time locating the event logs in app manager and op manager, what screen do they show up on? I have enabled windows event logs, and have rules set, but no logs are being collected, and i'm not sure if I am looking in the right place. thanks

Hi The Probe page on my MSP 6 install is empty. The probes are in the conf\probes directory and show against the customer in the custormer page but do not show on the Probe page
OpManager 6 using MySQL > 4.0
Hi I've been using OpManager 6 for a few weeks and as well as the built in reports have been writing VBA macros to query the database. I've discovered that a query (using the max() function) wasn't displaying the data it should be and a google search revealed that it is probably down to the version of MySQL being 4.0. I've tried to install MySQL v 4.1.22 on this server and have set it to use a different port. My plan was then to point Opmanager system to use this server by modifying the database_params.conf

Advice regarding opUtils
Hi, Currently evaluation OpUtils. Configured a Dell Switch Stack to monitor which has in total 96 ports across the 2 switches (48 in each) Yet, in the Switch Port mapper, it says I have 306 total ports, 240 being used (when there are actually only 32 in use across the stack. Can you advise on this? Also do you plan to add Dell PowerConnect switch support in soon? It would be really nice to see port numbers/unit numbers as opposed to "EthernetCSmacd" in the Ifname field. MAP LINK ALREADY EXSISTS (ERROR)

Op manager with HPUX and Catalyst 3750
Hi opmanager support, I want to integrate opmanager to my network but i need to now if it's works fine with my devices, I installed a 30 day evaluation opmanager 6.0 build 6016, and started to tryed but i found some issues that i want to resolve before I integarate to the monitoring system, 1st With the catalyst 3750, the backplane utilization bar is always showing 0%, so I think that is not working correctly 2nd With HPUX servers using HPUX 11.11 OS the CPU Utilization is showing -1% and Memory

Hi, I'm evaluating your tool Op Manager. I have installed it successfully. I configured maill server and I made a test and it works. I insert a device that's a SUN server and opManager see it. Additionally I inserted one INFORMIX service and it's well configured I monitored by OpManager. But when I take down INFORMIX mail alert wasn't sent and it's shown in OpManger . I considered to create a profile to send this message previously. Thanks for your help.

Hi, Im looking for a monitoring/alerting package that will monitor everything from ping times & availability of a server, to service status on a server, uptime, disk space, ram usage etc, as well the ability to email and sms alerts on outages. Ideally the package would support agents on remote machines as the monitoring server and the monitored server will be on seperate networks/domains/subnets etc (ie my server will be at a co-lo centre and the client server being monitored will be on the otherside

Devices not showing in Opmanager 7
I've been using OpManager 6 for a while now and just replaced it with OpManager 7. Because there aren�t many devices to monitor I manually added these devices back in. Hi, I am currently testing OPManager for feasibility usage in a LAN environment. In the previous OPManager 6, you can select WMI to use for the MSSQL monitor. However, in 7.0, there is no indication of WMI or SNMP used for the MSSQL monitor. The environment does not allow for usage of SNMP which is why this will be of concern to us.
