Hello, I have a problem (is it a problem?) with the index for the network interfaces at the servers. Every NIC has the same index: 65539. Is this correct or an error? thanks for answer
Memory utilisation shows 0% for monitoring AIX using CLI
Hi I am using OPmanager 7 for managing my AIX servers, but the graph for memory utilisation always shows 0 %. 1) I am using a non-root account for monitoring my AIX servers. I am able to get the output of the following commands /usr/bin/vmstat 1 3 /usr/bin/df -k | awk '{x += $2} { y += $3 } { z += $4 } END { print x,y,z }' But for svmon -G I get the following error: $svmon -G ksh: svmon: 0403-006 Execute permission denied. Integration with Service Desk Plus
Hi, I recently integrated out OpManager with Service Desk Plus and it is working fine. I created a notification rule which in turn created a ticket when a trap is received from machines in our server group. Let me take a Power Supply going down as a test case: It creates 2 separate alarms when the trap is triggered. * alertPowerSupplyFailure * alertRedundanyLost and 2 seperate alarms when the power supply is plugged back in: * alertPowerSupplyNormal * alertRedundancyNormal However in Service Desk
Modify Infrastructure View - Delete Unwanted Categories?
Hi, I have all custom infrastructure views, but you cannot see any of them without clicking 'more' on the main page. I want to delete all the ones listed at default (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, etc). I'm sure this is possible without a hotfix or patch. I looked around, but I couldn't find which html or XML file these were listed in, so I'm guessing they're pulled from the backend? Oh, and if I try to delete them (well, the ones you're given a choice to delete), it says " No Infra Structure View
Nasty bug: Unable to fetch Managed Object details for...
Just lost 50+ servers in side of OpManager, how do I recover from this. Built up a new category under "Infrastructure Snapshot" called it Sun. Moved all my Solaris computers into the new category. Changed the template for "Solaris" and did an apply to all. All of my Solaris systems moved back into the Servers category. Then to make things even worse, when I try to access any of these servers I get "Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object : testserver-foo" Any ideas?
CPU/Memory/Disk bug with Infrastructure Views
None of my devices are showing the memory, cpu, or disk utilization graphs/snapshots. However, if I move these devices out of my custom Infrastructure views and into the default "Switch" or "Router" views, all those utilization graphs work perfectly. Why is there ANY correlation between the name of your infrastructure view and whether or not a device displays the correct monitoring info? SNMP works fine, the monitor are pooling the info. It's just the graphs on the device page that show "N/A". ????
Two Questions in One
Hi, Two questions here. We have a number of Juniper (Netscreen) SSG-320M firewalls, these are currently unsupported in Opmanager. I have the mibs from Juniper but cannot load them as they are in *.mib format and I cannot see anyway to do this. Secondly we would like an email alert should someone do a config change on a Cisco switch or router I have tried to set this up but it does not work either, no email alert received. Interface Alarms
Hello, I'm running OpManager Build 7200 and we just recently added some Dell Switches to it. One thing I'd like to disable at the moment is the Alarm messages that pop up when a link is down. I've looked at a few posts in advance and disabled the SNMP trap processor "Link Down", both versions, I also looked at the Interface Templates --> Ethernet but did not see an option that corresponds to this. The exact message I'm getting is "(SwitchName) Port Link Aggregate is down". Any help would be appreciated.
Don't want alarms for every downed device or interface
I don't want non-critical devices to display an alarm when they are down or not responding or "Probable device failure" or anything like that. The only time a non-critical device should display an alarm is if the hard drive is full. So ideally I would like all the Desktops to only display an alarm if the hard drive is full. How to monitor a DLink SRW2024 Switch backplane
Hi guys, i'm new and i excuse for my poor english, however i'm trying to monitor the backplane of my dlink switch. The SNMP is enable, there is the blue star,but the type is unknown and in the schedule of backplane i read 'No data available '. How to disable ALL alerts Temporarily?
Is there any way that all service/server alerts can be easily disabled temporarily without goin g into each and every device and removing an alert profile? This would be tedious and time consuming to have to remove them all one-at-a-time and then re-enabliing them all.

Monitoring ServiceDesk
We'd like to use OpManager to monitor our ServiceDesk Plus system. Specifically some of the internal pages. I have tried passing the parameters extUsername and extPassword in the URL monitor but it does not return the internal page. How can I monitor a specific url in ServiceDesk? Thanks

InterScan for CSC SSM
Has anyone tried to setup InterScan for CSC SSM in OpManager? If I look in the web interface, Log Settings I can configure a syslog server. We also have Firewall Analyzer, could that be used instead? I'm a n00b...and want all the logs where I can see them in one interface.
opManager showing Services showing down .
We are running the latest version of opManager and about ever 3 weeks opManager starts showing all services on all servers as down. The result is about 350 emails to our admits. The services never actually down down, and a server restart clears out the problem for another 3 weeks... Ive searched for similar problems but found nothing. Performance Monitors not applied to Custom Template
Hi I have created a custom template to use for our Dell Servers. I have applied the Free Disk space in MB and Partition Details SNMP monitors to it but the problem I have is that they are not automatically associated to servers that use the template. If I add them manually to the individual devices they work fine. Is there any reason for this? Thanks for your help

Downtime Scheduler Fails with URL Monitors?
I have the Downtime Scheduler setup to Unmanaged Services for our nightly maintenance and that is working fine. However, I have URL monitors poling our web servers and their associated databases for a simple report. I need to add these tot eh Downtime Scheduler, but when I did OpManager unmanaged them on que, but did not release them with the maintenance time was finished? This caused them to be off line way longer than expected and caused some headaches! What is the process for scheduling downtime

How to add an APC UPS for dummies?
I swear, I must be dumb, because I have searched and read and read, and none of the previous posts help me. Can you give a dummies guide to adding an APC UPS in Opmanager 7? It's a SmartUPS 2200 RM. It is connected to a server via USB, and that alone. I have SNMP enabled in the APC console. Please give me the dumbed down steps. I see responses like, "Open up mib broswer and add it". Easier said than done. I know very little about SNMP, and am new to OpManager, we just bought it.
Poor performance and problem with java.exe
Hello I have a problem to get OpManager to run stable. First, the performance is at all times poor. Meaning: it takes long to change the view in the browser window. Second, after a week or so java.exe climbs to 100 % CPU. At this time nothing works, no alarms, no browser connection etc. I need to get this fixed asap, as a monitoring system that needs another monitoring system that checks if it is running is not really appropriate :-) Third: If someone has an easy description on how to get everything
