Migrate OpManager
Hi, I´m going to migrate OpManager to another server, from a phisical to a virtual server, from 32 bits to 64 bits, with RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB. My idea is to make a full backup and after use to restore it into the new server; i shouldn´t be having any troubles at all doing this, right? OS Processor Queue Length alerts on Domain Controllers
Hello, we are testing the OpManager product to see if it would be a good fit for us. I've noticed that all of my domain controllers have a high number of OS Processor Queue Length hits. This inspite of the fact that the CPU utilization is less than 5%. I searched the forums here and read through the other posts on this issue. I decided to run perfmon on my domain controller which had a queue length of 34 and watched it realtime for a few minutes. From what i can see, the OS Processor Queue Length

We have been evaluating VoIP monitors on build 8812 and have a couple of questions. 1. MOS value The MOS value is always reported as an integer value (4). Shouldn't it be reported as a decimal value (i.e. 4.3)? 2. Dashboard missing information. Some widgets not showing data.
Hi. My dashboard view has multiple widgets and some of them are missing information. This happened after a server restart. I ran the repairdb.bat script a couple of times and when I start the opmanager service it comes back with "Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server " Eventually it comes back and the password for the admin account does not work. generalize the concept of a device template
Today, the OpManager's concept of device template is very limiting. It doesn't include service monitors, url monitors, process monitors, and script monitors. Furthermore, I cannot use one device template for one bank of linux based web servers and a different device template for a different bank of linux based web services servers, and so on and so forth. How to delete dashboard
I made few dashboards according to zones but now neither i can delete a widget from the dashboard nor can move the widget. I tried to delete the new dashboard but can't delete it with usual process. I've restart the opmanager to fix issue but no results.

Hi, I initially installed OpManager on a linux box using normal http (port 80). Afterwards, I decided to enable ssl. Following the instruction I did the following: ssl_gen.sh -f Enable At this point, I expected the url https://opmanager.xyz.com/ to immediately work. Notice this is over 443. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I then point the browser to https://opmanager.xyz.com:80/ and that worked. Notice I am using port 80 for https traffic. So, I manually run the following and restart the server
ManageEngine NetFlow Plug-in for Linux non started
I have install the NetFlow plug-in downloaded from your site (http://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/29809517/ManageEngine_OpManager_NetFlow_Plug-In_9000.bin), next, I run linkAsService.sh, but the plug-in doesn't start. My distro is the last Debian (6.0.3). Opmanager on this server works normally. Whats wrong?
defense against login dictionary attack
Please incorporate a captcha mechanism to the login page. Otherwise, OpManager is vulnerable to dictionary attack. Being able to check in on the current condition of the production environment using OpManager from anywhere and any device is a very good thing. This is particular true for large organization and with employees traveling frequently. Notice, using ssh or vpn to create a private connection is still not good enough. email notification profile test fail
Hi, I was able to setup mail server settings to use smtp.gmail.com. I then tried to setup the email notification profile. However, "Test Actions" fail while executing send email action. Please see the attached screen capture. The left side of the screen capture show that I was able to successfully test mail server settings (I verified receiving the test email). The right side of screen capture showed the email notification profile test failed.
does the login page have a defensive mechanism against brute force attack
I like to be able to check on the status of the production environment from anywhere and using any internet device. The one issue I worry about is a hacker using a dictionary attack to get the admin password. Does OpManager has any defense against that? Or is there a configuration in tomcat that can defend against that?

We check the active and inactive sessions per Citrix Terminal Server with a total of 60 servers it would be nice to have a widget that displays the last value. This is possible per device but I am looking for a way to list al the servers with the last polled vallue sorted by nr of users. Is this possible ? Thanks in advance Ruud

I have load CISCO-ENVMON-MIB and initiate walk in it but unable to find OID of Cisco 2960 temperature monitor.. I have search over net and found .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1 for temperature but this OID is not responding in this mib.
Monitoring OpManager Itself
A few days ago we had an outage on our OpManager software which meant that we stopped being alerted by the system for almost 24 hours before it was noticed that the services had crashed out (once restarted we then had to run repairdb.bat), this has meant we have lost availability data, but more importantly hadn't been alerted to faults on our infrastructure for this time. What is the relationship between monitoring interval for a device category (Admin->Monitoring Intervals) vs. monitoring interval for a particular monitor (e.g. disk utilization)? Every monitor (e.g. disk utilization) has a required interval field. Does that make the device category monitoring interval unnecessary?

under linux the ShutDownOpManager.sh require X11
This is an issue on Linux. Both the installation script and startup script works fine without X11. However, the shutdown script require X11. There is no reason for this requirement and most production Linux boxes don't for X. I had to manually kill the server. Network Configuration Management plugin for OpManager 9 pulls hosts, but not credentials or asset details from opmanagerdb
Good day folk, It appears redundant, that one would install the Network Configuration Management plugin for OpManager 9, and have to retype credentials/asset details all over again for a separate MySQL DB instance for each and every network device. Is there anyway we can get a sync right off the bat, something like: IF installing for OpManager, THEN: IF SNMPcredentials table exists in opmanagerdb, THEN: INSERT SNMPcredentials-stuff INTO `deviceexpert`.`somecredentialtable`
apply template doesn't work under the following use case
1. discover a new device 2. suppose for whatever reason, OpManager manager is unable to categorize the device 3. manually categorize device (let's say Windows 2008) 4. modify device template for Windows 2008 5. apply Windows 2008 to new device. At this point, the apply operation doesn't work. The new device does not get any of the monitors from the device template. There is no error reported either.
notifications not sending alerts
I'm running the latest opmanager. I have verified that the mail server works. I created an email profile and told it to use every condition for alerts. I attached it to the server being monitored. When the service goes down I do not get an alert.
Problem to delete subnet "100.0.0.0/8"
Hi, In the Discovered Subnets, I got a subnet "100.0.0.0/8". I approved this subnet, but now, I want to delete it. Unlike othet subnets, I cannot delete this one. Is that because it is such a big subnet? Is there a way to get this "100.0.0.0/8" subnet deleted? Many thanks, Raphael

I have a machine with 3 NIC's (2 disconnected, 1 active) running Win 2008. The active interface is being monitored under interfaces. I continue getting the alarms "Interface down : ifIndex.10:" Could anyone tell me what does this alarm refer to and how can i stop this? Thanks in advace.

Notification Profiles Error Page
Hi Happy New Year after upgrading to 8030 my notifications stoped arriving. I Upgraded to 8040 thinking that it may fix the problem but no luck. I tried to email a report and it works ok so the problem is on OpManager somewere. I tried to go From Admin Tab to Notifications profiles and i receive a page says Error!!
