We have been evaluating VoIP monitors on build 8812 and have a couple of questions.
1. MOS value
The MOS value is always reported as an integer value (4). Shouldn't it be reported as a decimal value (i.e. 4.3)?
2. Treshold for Packet Loss
When we create a new monitor, Opmanager shows the treshold value for packet loss as percentage (this is in the window before you press submit button to create the monitor). When monitoring packet loss it seems like Opmanager uses the number of packets that is lost as the treshold instead of calculating the percentage of packets lost. Is this correct?
3. Changing a VoIP monitor
Is there any way to change the treshold values for a VoIP monitor without deleting and readding the monitor?
If we delete and readd the monitor, the history details will be lost.
4. Treshold limits
Does the treshold upper and lower limit raise different alarms?
We have been experimenting with the treshold limit for packet loss, but Opmanager only generates an alarm if the upper limit is breached. Should Opmanager generate an alarm if the lower limit is breached?
5. Scalability
We will probably have 30 to 40 VoIP monitors. Can Opmanager Essential Edition handle this number of VoIP monitors? Today we have 420 monitored devices and 2200 interfaces.
