Question with error! in network map
When I want to create the business view from networkmap feature, some times i get the error msg. (too short) error!.. What's error and how to fix its. ? Why I create the businees view from manual create businessw view, but I want to using the save as to business vieew because when created the business view (manual) I can't to see or set the icon of device as same the map form networkmap. End-user overview
We are using OpManager and would like to also display a Dashboard for end-users. OP Manager features not available using Linux Server
Hi OP Manager, I would like to ask the features of OP Manager that is not available / functioning if I use Linux as server. Interface Status Change Monitoring and Alerting
It is typical for user access interfaces on our switches to go up and down mainly due to laptops users disconnecting from their desks. However, we still want to monitor the up/down status for if the interfaces go up or down too many times in a given period. IBM Blade Center Inventory
Hey guys It would be great if OpManager could display and save in the OpManager database the inventory of the blades in a IBM Blade Center. This would make it a lot easier to find which Blades are in what Blade Center. I would also love to be able to see this viewable on a dashboard. I have tried to do this with a custom monitor and the IBM supplied MIBs. It does display the name of the blades and the blade slot. But it does not save the info in the database. Need Suggestions for Using OpManager for Asset Management

Notification Rule Scheduling Questions
When using a notification profile schedule: - Is the time reference the actual time on the OpManager(9200) server? - I have a schedule that starts at 17:00 and ends at 05:00(overnight), how does it span days? If I have this set for Mon & Tue, does it run from 00:00-05:00 on Mon, then 17:00 on Mon through 05:00 on Tue and then from 17:00-23:59 on Tue? New OPM Rule engine problem
new discovery rule engine is interesting feature. For test decided to add several devices to OPM. And rule was 'if new device is server, add to the business view serverView 3'. There were 4 servers. Yes. Those servers added to business view 'serverView 3' correctly. And this is the problem. Server's icon and names got placed over and over. If there were about 25 servers... it might get really ugly to rearrange. I was expecting something like this. Tidy, ready to go.

Custom Linux/Solaris scripts are not triggering web alarms
Hello, Personal experience has shown that web alarms are not being generated when custom Linux / Solaris script thresholds are being exceeded. This may be affecting all custom scripts, but at this time we're only running them on the Unix side of our environment. Might anyone know if this is a bug, or if I am simply missing a configuration setting? I am currently running build 9101 in a Windows 2008 Server 64-bit environment.
OpManager and WSUS on same server
I'm wanting to install Opmanager 9 on a 2008 x64 server that has WSUS installed. WSUS I believe is using MySQL. I'm wanting to use MySQL that comes bundled with OpManager. My concern is that the OpManager install will affect WSUS. Anyone tried this combination before or know if there is any issue?
SQL Monitoring
Hello, I am trying to monitor one of our SQL services and I have it added to opmanager along with the associated monitors however, it appears that it is not collecting data and it does not bring up a list of databases on that sql server. I have SNMP and WMI setup correctly and when I test the credentials, it passes successfully. Can anyone shed some light on what may be happening ... opmanager is at the latest build 9101 Thanks

Creating new Severity and new colors
Hi all, I've been asked to look into creating new severities and assigning them new colours. I've edited the SeverityInfo.conf file with the new levels and made sure to follow the guides but cant see anywhere that opmanager reads them. Long story short what im looking for it to get more granularity for attention and trouble warnings EG have coldstarts or service failures come up with something other than the yellow "Attention". Is it possible to have multiple thresholds set for a resource monitor? For, a disk partition would be say "warning" status at 80%, but "critical" at 95%?

Database Maintenance - Manual Execution
We've been using OM for about 2 years. We are a few versions behind and i want to upgrade. I received the files from Zoho and started the process, but the backup of the DB took a full 8 hours, and never finished. The backup process got stuck on one statistics table from May. I went in to DB maintenance and changed all the settings to 3 days. I read on a forum post that I need to wait 24 hours for the actual deletion to happen. adding a SNMP Process Monitor
I'm trying to monitor a process on a server with SNMP. I have one server where this is already working but on this one it looks like I'm only able to monitor processes with WMI. When I click "add Process Monitors", I get the error: UserName/Password details are not configured for this device. The performance monitors (CPU, memory, disk) work with SNMP. cannot add HP Procurve switch
Hi, We are using Opmanager 9 with Windows 2008R2, so far we have added number of routers and servers without any issue. Now when I am trying to add HP Procurve switch, it say device successfully added but I can't find the device I tried all the possible ways to added but in vain. I have many times verified my SNMPv3 credentials, even with the snmp tester from the Opmanager server and snmp tester successfully test snmp to the switch. Please help to resolve the issue. Are the credentials provided either in the Global Parameters or the "use the below credential for the device" stored in the database in an encrypted level? What table and field? If encrypted, what is used. We need to identify the security risk of accounts given such priveledges and potential of obtaining said credientals.

Hi there, I plan to use the VMware fonction Distributed Power Management for a cluster which is monitored by Opmanager. DPM can stop a host depending of the charge on a cluster.
