Installing OpManager 9 with MS SQL database on an other server.
I want to install OpManager 9 using MS SQLserver on an external server.
I have installed MS SQL 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 R2 and created an Named Instance NI01.
In SQL Server Configuration Manager (Protocols for NI01) I have removed the value 0 for TCP Dynamic Ports, and used 1433 as TCP port. So dynamic ports are not used
On an other Windows 2008 R2 server I want to install OpManager Central Server 9, but I'm getting an error after "Configure the SQL Server details":
The error-message is: "Unable to connect to SQLServer. Proceed the installation with MySql as database"
I' have used the following details:
Host Name: \\servername\NI01
Port: 1433
Database Name: CentralDB
Username: sa
Password: sa-password
On my own desktop (with SQL server Management Studio and using the above credentials) I can connect to the databaseserver.
Please can you tell me what I'm doing wrong.
On the database-sever, there is not yet an database with de name CentralDB. Is it necessary to create it first?
