Interface Status Change Monitoring and Alerting
It is typical for user access interfaces on our switches to go up and down mainly due to laptops users disconnecting from their desks. However, we still want to monitor the up/down status for if the interfaces go up or down too many times in a given period. It would be nice if this could be configured on the "Interface Properties" page where other thresholds are specified. It could then ask, "Alert if status is changed X times in X minutes". Possibly "X minutes" would have to be identified by "X poll intervals". It would be nice to also include, "Alert if status is not cleared in X minutes (or polls)".
