Custom Graphs using different SNMP Ports
I am trying to create a Custom Graph using another port besides 161. Checkpoint uses port 260 to access their enterprise mibs. I am able to get the value in MIB Browser because the parameter tab allows me to change the snmp port. I did not find this feature in the Custom Graphs window. Is there a workaround? Thanks, Jeff

OpManager Free Edition allows to manage 20 critical devices
Installing OpManager Free Edition allows you manage 20 critical devices in your network. I updated from OpManager build 5600 to 5601 (Free Edition) and the limit is always 10 devices... Is the free edition limited to 10 or 20 devices ? Thank you
Restricting user access?
I have been configuring OpManager for user logins for specific network views. My question is how to edit the top tabs for help, personalize, talkback etc. The issue is that after I assign a user a password they can change it through the personalize link. I am curious on where I could edit the .xml files to remove this feature, keeping the user from changing the password and appearance. I am also curious if I am able to add another email so when a user submits a talkback I cam CC'd on it as well.
service won't start?

Cisco Catalyst WS-C2950T-48-SI Switches
Hi there We have a number of Catalyst 2950-48-SI switches on our network, but they appear as unknown devices in OpManager. I have tried to look for them manually, but the closest in OpManager is the 2950-48-G. Will selecting this device work? Thanks
Newbie Install Issues - Failed to establish connection with
I have installed OpManager on on E-Smith SME server which is based on Redhat. When i run StartOpManagerServer I get the following error "Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." When i run StartWebSvr.sh I get this error: "[root@devbox apache]# ./StartWebSvr.sh bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb-3.2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Any Suggestions

Hi, I have two Sun V40z server running on dual AMD opthelon processor. I want to monitor this boxes using OpsManager. Everything (Services, Interface, Disk Usage) is working fine except CPU and Memory utilization. CPU always stay at 26% and Memory 57%. I am using SNMP agent in the boxes. Is there anyway I can monitor both CPU of the box. ~/Dev
customized reports
I need to create customized reports based on the performance data such as Tx Rx traffic on any given set of interfaces. e.g DSL links usage report, T1 links usage report or backbone usage report. Alarm Escalation Cycles
When defining an Alarm Escalation, what is the point of being able to define the rule timeframe down to minutes; (e.g. "If x category is not cleared within x minutes") ...if the email escalation can only be defined in hours? ( "Run this check every x hours") If an alert has not been acknowledged or cleared within x minutes, I need to escalate it immediately via email; How does one achieve this?

Hi, On the router/switch interface graphs of older data, I'd like to see two extra lines for maximum in/out traffic rates, as well as the average values reported at present. The traffic rates on these graphs are averaged down as you go back in time, and the maximum values are lost. A bit like what you can do with MRTG! many thanks, alec --
Event Logs Issue
I am not able to get any alarms from event log monitoring of the localmachine. After poking around on these forums, I found a post asking someone to test WMI by running: cscript event.vbs machinename domainname\administrator administratorpassword timeinterval(in seconds) The error I get is, "Error # User credentials cannot be used for local connections" If I rerun the above code and omit the username and password, it returns some event data. What can I do to monitor the event log on the same machine
Devices Do Not Delete
I am unable to delete devices from OpManager, from both the web interface or the client - no errors are shown when I click "Delete". any ideas? Thanks - Adrian.
Viewing Unsolicited Traps
I expect this is an easy one, but how do I view the full content of an Unsolicited trap? When I view through the WebUI, I can only see two lines of any Unsolicited trap, which doesn't give me enough on the detail to determine what the trap is about, and thereby create a trap processor. Is the full trap kept in the logs somewhere?
Alarm Escalations
Thanks to Gabriel for the tip on adding comma delimited addresses to the "To:" field on the Notification Profiles setup. That is going to help me overcome a large stumbling block I have. Along the same lines; I think the Escalation set up (Admin>Alarm Escalation) is a little too broad scoped. Correct me if I am interpreting this wrong, but let's say I have an alarm on one of my MX server, SMTP is down. I have the notification profile unix-mx-admins consisting of two SMS addresses and two email addresses
Notification per service
Hi, I have linux server that has apache and oracle installed on it. Would it be possible to configure the notification in such a way that if the oracle server goes down notify the DB administrator and if the Apache server has a problem notify only the system administrator. HotSpot VM error
Hi! I had OpManager running on Suse Enterprise Server 9.0. After running for a few day, it display "Internal Server Error" on browser client after login. The OpManager stop working and there are errors hs_err_pidxxxx.log on Opmanager Home Directory. After reboot, it will work for a few days and repeat the error...
Date sources other then SNMP
Is it possible to create data sources or service monitors other then SNMP? Like scrip or something for devices/services that do not support SNMP or WMI
OPManager on Linux : server start problem
Hi all, I'm trying to test OPManager but after installation on Linux Fedora Core 2 I had a problem starting the server.I receive a message saying that the port 80 is occupied by another application. I tried to change http port to 9090 with OPManager tols and also on the httpd.conf but also on the port 9090 I freceive the same message. Could you help me? Thanks Stefano

Hi, i am currently working with the SNMP/Traps/MIBs stuff. Whenever i want to load a MIB into the MIB-Browser, i get the following message in the box: Exception:Reading/Parsing MIB:java.io.FileNotFoundException: Could not open file C:/Program The path in real should be "c:\program files\ ...." - is there an issue with blanks in the file path ? - is ist possible to correct this ? System is WinXP SP1

Custom Reporting on Services
I might just be missing something so I thought I'd ask.... I'm trying to generate an availability report on the SMTP service for a given machine but the services aren't listed in the Available Metrics section of the reporter. Could someone point me int he right direction. On a tangent, if I could generate a report for all SMTP services that would be even better. Sorry if this has been answered in the past. I am evaluating opmanager 5.6. So far I can monitor several virtual and physical servers running Win200x with snmp and wmi. We run also 2 HP DL380G3 with VmWare ESX 2.5, SNMP enabled. From the snapshot page of these 2 machines I cannot monitor CPU Utilization correctly. If I use "Resource Monitors/SNMP/CPUutilization - hostresource mib" or "Resource Monitors/SNMP/CPUutilization - ucd snmp mib" the monitor displays wrong value. I have configured my cisco 2811 twice and cat2980G-A twice as well...what am I doing wrong ? On the 2811 I believe the SNMP config is very simple.. snmp-server community public RO thats it .... Opmanager will poll on port 161. Even when using the MIB browser it cannot get the info...the error I am getting is : Request failed or timed out. Problem in Loading OpManager
Opmanager stopped working earlier when I went to delete a device and add a new one. When that failed I tried auto discovery and that is when OP crashed. I have since un-installed, rebooted and installed again several times. But this is what I get when attempting to load....
