Non snmp nodes
I am running opmanager 5.6. On discovery some of my servers are being picked up as non-snmp nodes even though the snmp agent is running on them and all snmp parameters are correctly configured. This is driving me mad now as I have tried everything possible to correct it. I was wondering if there is perhaps a security setting that might be enabled on the servers. Has anyone come across this problem or have any ideas on fixing it as I could really use the input. Thanks.

Creating "group" SMS Alerts
Following a format of Create a notification contact -> assign that contact to a notification group -> assign that group to a host and/or service. Is it possible to go to Admin > Notification Profiles > SMS Alert > To Email Address and add a comma delimited list of addresses? or is there another way to accomplish this? Thanks in advance, Ryan

Automated generation and posting of reports
We are currently in the deployment stages of Opmanager and have a need to generate reports and post to a systems web site. Is there a way we can schedule the running of reports and save them in a custom location? Thanks
Availability shows down all the time
I have 10 devices that are responding but show down all the time in Opmanager. Only the today's availability shows down, all snmp services are responding.

But iam not able to get the option where to create the Bussiness views. Can you please let me know the details that how to create bussines process views. NOTIFICATION PROFILES
Hello, From the Web client I am unable to create notification profiles. I use the following procedure; Admin tab - Global Settings -Notification profiles icon. Add new - Email Alert I then proceed to enter the information. Click Save MESSAGE = Notification profile added successfully. Here's the problem...It doesn't create the profile. If you could help me out it would be great. I was on the site and followed the howto section to make sure I was doing it correctly. Same proceedure but different screenshots.

OpManager and Insight Manager
I currently use Insight Manager to manage my HP servers. Does Opmanager give me the same information as Insightmanager about my HP hardware? (In the overview, it states that it monitors over 40 critical parameters on Compaq and Dell servers). Could I run the two products together, or should I just use one of them?
OpManager Will not start.
I have been having issues getting OpManager 5.6 running on a windows 2003 server. I have looked through previous threads on resolutions to this issue and have tried using the batch files found in to manually start it C:\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\bin and I have also renamed the my.ini file that was recommended in another thread, so far it still refuses to run and there is no noticable startup even though the service is started. Adding singel hosts from large subnet
Hello, im just evaluating OpManager for monitoring our servers. The situation is the we have server which are not in our private subnet. So when i add this servers to OpManager the whole subnet is added but i only want to add the single server. Is this possible? thx & bye Marcel
Time to Deploy, opmanager vs nagios, windows or linux
From the folks who are using this product to manage primarily network equipment, what was the timeline like to deploy the opmanager, populate the device inventory and set up reports? Also, any preferences or opinions between windows and linux version and finally anybody switch from nagios to opmanager and what were the reasons.
Network Interfaces PIX
Dear Opmanager support, Currently we have two PIX's in our network, both being monitored by Opmanager, which is great software ;) But, we are only able to view the interface stats of one PIX. The other interfaces all display NA graphs and stats, although both PIX's are running the same firmware version and settings. We are using the latest version from adventnet's downloads section. Why opmanager is not getting connected to sd server?? Several questions
We are in the process of evaluating OPManager and have several questions. I hope you will be able to answer them. Will the home page be customizable? On the sever snapshot page we can view the processes that are running, can the percent of CPU and memory be shown for each process? Is there a way for people who are logged in with admin rights, have a place at the top of every screen that will flash the color of any alarm that goes off and when you clicked on it, it will take them right to the alarm?

Bug in SQL used to fetch from Alert table
Hi, It seems that there's a bug in some SQL which relates to the Alerts table. If a single quote character (') appears in the ENTITY column (and perhaps also the MMESSAGE column), things go a bit funny when you try to ask for the list of alarms. Also, the "Recent Alarms" list doesn't appear on the dashboard page. I think that maybe a literal SQL statement is being built using a value fetched from the Alerts table - the presence of the single quote character messes with the SQL syntax, which causes

Event Log Monitor: Disabling Printer Notifiations
I need the ability to tell OpManager NOT to notifiy me of stuff like this: Severity: Critical ID=8 Source=Print Type=2 Message=Printer HP LaserJet 1200 Series PCL 5e on pintlis-fs01 (from BUS-ENEAL) in session 0 was purged. That is NOT a critical message, but I don't see where i can control that. Is this possible?
Unable to get Cisco Backplane utilization on Cat 4506
Hi, I am not able to monitor my cat 4506 to get backplane utilization information. Each time I test the monitor it returns with "The Monitor did not respond to the test request". The snmp OID it returns is .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8.0. How can I get the backplane utilization monitor to work ? Regards Alvin

Stop Specific Alert Indefinately
Good Day, Opmanager is working wonders for us except for one issue. We have several Event Log Alarms that Alarm to us, but mean nothing and are more informational, is it possible to disable it so these Alarms do not appear anymore? I have tried Acknowledge, Clear, or Delete, but they come back the next time that Alarm is in the event log. Thanks.

Windows 2000 Server
My 2000 servers are constantly getting picked up by OpManager as desktops. I want to modify the opmanager_categoryinfo.xml file to pick up 2000 server as a server device type. Does any one know what the OID is for 2000 server, or if it is the same as 2000 profesional, how can I get OpManager to pick it up as a server.
Linking in Business Views
Regarding the "drawing of links" between devices, it seems a little tedious, plus I've found that it's only cosmetic (unless I am wrong). Would it benefit the users if a "Parent" could be defined from a list of existing hosts? This would not only satisfy the "alert only if Parent is active" condition but also automatically connecting devices in an dynamically generated map or maps. Thoughts? Ryan
Service Desk + hangs on startup
Hello I am currently evaluating service desk and everything so far has been great! Love the product. The power was cycled on the SD server without properly closing down service desk. The service desk starts as normal until it gets to the application layer starting..... and from there the SD hangs. I am able to shut down the SD application. I do have a backup from a few days ago however I would like to get the system back to its original state. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

I am testing the new Exchange functionality in Opmanager 5.6 and everything appears to be working correctly except that the statistics in the Dashboard show N/A. It has looked the same for the past several days. How do I allow it to show the current statistics?
Custom reports
Hello all, I would like to know if it's possible to add line in the report view. for example, i would like to add this report in category server ( in the web client, I clik on Report and this is the first table ) "Servers by the Response time" using Response time graph or just the data of each servers. Installation's troubles

How does the Run command function work
I am trying to send an SMS when an alert occurs using a tool called SMSSend.exe. When I execute this tool from the command line it works fine but when OpManager starts it, it doens't work I can see that it is being started but the program doesn't work. Maybe it has something to do with the way OpManager starts that command??
