OpManager 5.6 - Updated Release

Alarm Escalation Bug
Hello: I found one bug in Alarm Escalation Feature. We want to modify the send-to email address in all the rules of Alarm Escalation of OpManager but we are not able to. We find that eventhough it reports that new Send-to email address settings are saved in Alarm Escalation, when I check back that rule it agains shows old Send-To address. I have tried different rules, and also different Send-to email addresses, but no luck. Can you look into this? We are using latest build of OpManager on windows
Chart in iReports
I'm trying to create a custom iReport that includes an area chart (e.g. CPU Usage). My series query is as follows: "SELECT s.val as Value, FROM_UNIXTIME(s.ttime/1000) as Time FROM OpManagerDB.statsdata_hourly s join OpManagerDB.polleddata p ON p.id = s.pollid WHERE p.agent LIKE 'constellation%' AND s.instance LIKE 'CPU%' ORDER BY p.agent, p.name, s.instance, s.ttime". I have tried different ways to set my category and value expressions and resolved it down to $F{Time} and $F{Value} respectively.
Add Device annoyances
Hello. Kudos to this product, I like it. :) I find when I want to manually add a machine via Add Device, I think there should be a default option to select the community and netmask (ie; for a single host I have to manually force the netmask to 255.255.255.255, and also change the community string to my custom value which for say alot of machines it could be time consuming) Is there a work around so I can speed it up? I'm manually doing it this way because i have about 40 machines on a LAN that have

Does OpManager5.5 support Windows 2000 Server?
When I setup OpManager 5.5 in Windows 2000 Server, there is something wrong in clinet that "Infrastructrue View" in tree panel can't display. By the way, whether the Windows 2000 Advanced Server exists the same problem or not? thanks 8)
Kbytes/sec or Kbits/sec
After monitoring some nic's it wasn't clear to me if the graphs show me the traffic rates in kilobytes/sec or kilobits/sec. Following the rules it would be kbits/sec cause the "b" is lowercase... Thanks for your help!

Wrong Access Point detection
Hi all I'm trying OpManager on a little "Server" (p4 2.4 ghz 1 gb ram), managing +- 150 devices, including access points, in our network we have some 3com 2000 Access points and other linksys wep11, the problem i have, is that the opmanager is detecting the ap's linksys like 3com office connect. Unable to Find object

Missed Polls Number
Is there a way to change the missed polls number to a higher number then 5? We would like to implement a notification of different levels of our Company depending on the amount of time that a location is down. Such as at 5 polls missed it notifies our support department at 10 polls missed it then notifies Network Operations then at 15 polls missed it notifies Management. Corey
Urgent:server always shuts down automatically after 24hr

Disk Space Report
When I run the DIsk Space Usage report, all the servers I have show NA for the Total Space & Disk space used Percentage(%). Is there a way to get that info?
Adding a WMI graph fails
Hi, When I try to add a WMI based graph the operation fails with a message: Device is not responding to Free Disk Space in MB. Please check the Passwords details of the device. I have setup the username/password, tried domain admin and local admininistrator but it still fails. Thanks, Miros

I have a Server alarm indicating a problem in home page of OPmanager, and when i try to access it, the resulting page is blank. If I try to change the status in Alarms to clear it appear to do nothing and still appearing in the alarm list Can anybody help me?

Wants to Monitor Microsoft Exchange 2000 Mail Queues
Hi , I am using OpManager for monitoring Exchange 2000 server. right now i am minitoring CPU utilization, Memory Utilization ,Disk utilization and And all Exchange related services. But i also want to monitor MTA Queues, InBound , Outbound Messages, Outgoing mail size. I have added these counters in application monitor. but its not communicating with exchange 2000 server. We are planning to implement this tool in Cairn Energy India Pty. ltd. But i want to test every counters before saying yes to

I would like to know how is calculed this value because I don't understand. For example, I monitor my personnal computer with SNMP, I get around 50% of memory utlization but how can I verify that values are real Can you explain me that Please, thanks.

all server disk usage reports not working correctly
Recently the all servers disk usage report has not been showing data from all the servers listed. There are three servers not listed. however, when I click on the servers not in the report through my server view, the disk utilization graphs do show up. If I click on the All Servers availability report, all the servers show up as well. All of the default server reports show information from all my servers, with the exception of any disk reports. Monitoring a HP Procurve 2650 Switch
Can anyone provide the steps I need to take to have the "CPU Utilization %", "Memory Utilization %", and the "Backplane Utilization %" graphs populate on the snapshot page for a HP Procurve 2650 switch? Also, "Tx Traffic" statistics for this device are being populated, but not the "Rx Traffic". The Tx & Rx Utilization % are also not being populated either. Uncompiled MIB problem...
Guys, I recently purchased the OpManager 5.6. I have some MIB files from some manufacturer that I need to put in the OpManager. However, the MIB files are in .txt format, which I am guessing is uncomplied. I tried to load the file as is using the MIB browser that comes with OpManager 5.6; however, it does not work. I am guessing that its because the MIB files are not compiled. Is there a way to compile them using OpManager? If so, how can I do it? If its not possible, then what other options do I

Hi, I'm evaluating OpManager to control 6 Proliant DL 380. I installed HP Driver Pack and insight management Agents for windows 2003 v. 7.2. Disk Utilization % - correction
Hi, I have found a code mistake in file HostResource.xml. Using original one delivered with the OpManager 5.6 Disk Utilization % was always 0!!! Telnet/SSH based monitors for Solaris
Hi, I have problems with the Telnet/SSH based monitors for Solaris. It keeps on telling me that something is wrong like username/password and so on. But when I try normal telnet from my cmd on laptop everthying is OK. It was working on previous version 5.5. I tried to monitor OpManager requests by Ethereal and I saw message TCP CHECKSUM INCORRECT. Is this message caused by application or something else? ups disappeared form business view
hi i added a ups device to a business view but its type was unknown, then i got its OID and then i added a new device type and i specified this type to my device, but once i did this it disappeared from the business view and i couldn't add it again to the view. Can any one help? Regards

how can i add a site that is not yet actvated so that when the site comes on line it will be discovered. Example is haveing a site in the business view or where ever , though it will appear down and will come up as soon as the site is put online. Thanks, F2b
trouble with CPU utilization via net-snmp
Hi, I'm trying to monitor a Linux device (NOT redhat) running net-snmp. If I set a ucd-snmp based monitor, I don't have error, but still 0 as result value (while the real server upload is : 15:23:52 up 82 days, 5:16, 2 users, load average: 0.06, 0.06, 0.09) Since it's not a redhat, I can't use the CLI based monitor, which parse top output (and since it's not the same output in debian's top..) by the way, why you don't simply use /proc/loadavg and btw, you run the command : <code># top b n 1 | grep

Cisco 2811 detected as type "Unknown"
I am using Cisco 2811 routers and when I initially added them to OpManager 5.6 they appeared with the type "Unknown". I then added a Custom Device Type for a "Cisco 2811" with the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.576. I tried rediscovering the device to set the correct device type, but it still appeared as unknown. The only way I seem to be able to set the correct device type is by deleting the device and readding it. Is there a better way to do this? V/
