Problem With OpManager Snapshot View
I apologise if this question has been asked already, however I'm currently having a re-occuring problem with OpManager, in that when I access the SnapShot view of any of my servers in OpManager the CPU, Memory, Response Times, Disk utilisation Graphs do not show any data. The graphs are blank. When I also access the other performance monitors which i have added I'm told that there is no data available. However if I Test the monitors then I get a positive result. Alarm Escalation Problem
Why is it that when i configure an alarm for a business view, all other alarms are included even though they are not member of that group. what i understand is that it should show only alarm for that particular view. please check. thanks..
Opmanager linux
I tried the linux version of opmanager and the install went fine. When I tried to start it it failed. There seemed to be some libraries missing. Opmanager seemed to be looking for older versions of some libraries. I gave up and tried the windows version. The windows version works great. I hope to get the linux version up.. Thanks for the great software.
Loading MIBS - Frustrated!
I used the trial version for 30 days and was able to load the MIBS i needed for Motorola Canopy SM's, BH's and AP's easily and they worked. I have sense purchased the program and loaded it onto my server and deleted everything off of my laptop! I am not realizing that was a HUGE mistake where i could have just ran a backup and I would have been fine. Well now that I have a "Fresh install" on my server, I cannot get ANY of my MIBS to work. They all load fine in the MIB Browser. I make a custom template
Another Useful Feature Addition
It would be useful to be able to re-categorize a group of devices by IP subnet as many of our subnets are specialized device connectivity like power supplies or environmental systems monitors etc. Since we find those devices by doing a search on the subnet itself, if there was an option on that "search results" page to select and re-categorize the devices listed it would save us many hours of time.
no availably data for windows 2003 server
I am using opManager 6 on windows 2003 ,it can get CPU performace data for local host, but always shows no data for other remote windows 2003 servers,why? thanks

Device Template credentials
Hi, I have create a device template for HP Proliant Servers, configured as follows: Vendor: Hewlett-Packard Category: Server Oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.microsoft.software.1.3.1.2 (returned from querying the device) I've added some monitors to it and it seems to work okay but the problem is that in the device itself, when I select the Passwords option, it keeps giving me the Telnet/SSH option instead of the Windows logon. General installation / setup question
I have three of your software installed on one virtual server: OpManager AppManager EventLog Analyzer I started with the trial versions, then let them lapse to free. In observing the VM in the VMware Infrastructure Client, it uses a lot of CPU and almost all of its allotted RAM compared to other installed VMs. Even though RDP'ing into it suggests a low usage in Task Manager, Performance, though frequent CPU spikes. Problem deleting multiple switch interfaces after SP2
Prior to SP2, I was able to select multiple interfaces from switches and delete them without issue. Now when trying this operation it tells me it is unable to delete the interfaces. If I just delete a single interface at a time it works properly.
Discover services on machine gives Access Denied
Hi, I'm trying to discover the services on a number of machines in a remote site. I have added their admin credentials to OpManager, and when testing them they pass on SNMP and fail on WMI (we don't use WMI, so this shouldn't be of concern). Performance monitors all work correctly, however when I try to add Windows Services and discover the services on the machine, I get an access denied error. What could be causing this? Hello, We are trying to migrate from Nagios to OpManager and are having a few problems. 1. I can't get a Cisco 3750 switch to monitor properly. The credentials test passes for both snmp and cli but testing the monitors fails. I think this is due to the snmp setup on the switch, you have to create a user and assign the user to a group etc. Any help on this? 2. Invalid license error with error 535
Dear Support our customer has experienced with "Invalid License error" with Error code 535. Finally we've to reinstall OpMgr again and reactivate our purchased license. Before patch version is OpMgr 7 with patch 7101. Then after reinstall we patch to 7102. OS : windows 2003 SP1 Our customer would like to prevent "invalid license error" occur. HotFix For Service Pack 2
Dear All Here is a quick fix for two critical issues. This Hotfix with Build No. 7201 can be applied only over Build 7200. If you are on an earlier HotFix, please upgrade to 7200 and then apply HotFix 7201. The issues fixed are: 1. The error 'Unable to find MO' encountered when clicking on a device name, is fixed. 2. The issue of .local domain not working in the email field in Mail Server Settings, is now fixed. We'll put out another hotfix with few more issues fixed very soon.. Best Regards Roshini

I know that you can ping a subnet and discover devices however this doesn't work when you only want specific devices monitored. I was wondering if there is a way to programatically create a single monitor? If I had a new device added to the network and want to automatically add it to be monitored as part of the build process rather than having to rely on an administrator to complete the configuration
Data lost after machine power failure
Hi, My customer is using OpManager build 7200. Yesterday OpManager is not properly shutdown due to power outage. When we start OpManager back we found out all data is gone, device and business view is not showing. Any advice how do we retrieve back the data? Please let me know if you need the log file. Thanks. How to display resources for WatchGuard firebox firewall?
sorry for the double post. I posted in the Firewall Analyser by mistake earlier. This is about OpManager. We have a WatchGuard Firebox 500 firewall but we don't see the CPU and Memory Utilization in OpManager. We are able to see the network interface and Rx traffic but not much else. I have the MIBs for Firebox but not sure how to use it. I am using the OpManager web interface. I am new to this. I have enclosed a screen shot.
Alerting - Attention & Clear
I would like to change the alerts. Right now when one of our devices goes down we get an "Attention", I would like to change that to "Down". and when that device comes back up we get a "Clear", I would like to change that to "Up". I am trying to add support for Data Domain de-duplicating storage devices to OpManager 7.2. First I'm trying to solve the problem with have monitors that are multivalued. Credential settings of SNMP V1\V2 combined.
I see in the new version of OPManager 7.2 you have separated SNMP V3 from the V1/v2 combined. We have had tremendous problems with the combined versions of V1/V2 and I've had to roll back opmanager to V7010 just to sort of that problem. Is there is any chance you could separate SNMP V1 and V2 again like in 7010. otherwise tell me is there a setting that I could change in Op Manager as I feel that paying for this software and having to stick with this Old version of the software and missing out on

Upgrade to 7.2 with patch BUSTED OpManager!
I just installed the 7.2 patch to a test machine running OpManager 7.1 on a RHEL5 machine. I followed the simple instructions to the letter and also did the backup. I am SO glad I applied this patch to the test environment before deploying on the clients production server. I'd like to be able to assign a user a View of the system where I could include not only complete devices, but also interfaces. For example, if a client has assigned only a port in a switch, he could be able to see only his interface, not the whole switch.

Hey There, I'm pulling the motherboard temperture off of a server which responds with a 3 digit value. ie. when the temp is 28.5 it responds 285. Is there any way to make Opmanager divide the value or move the decimal place when it displays the temperture in my graph? thanks!
moving OpManger to New Server

Device down but not generate alarm

Restart a windows process from Linux?
Hello! I have a web admin that wants to know if OpManager can restart a jrun process on the web server when OpManager gives a notcie that a URL is down. Right now we have a issue with jrun locking up at random causing our corp site to go down. They have setup a web page for OpManager to call if the site goes down that will restart the process. Is there a way to make OpManager do this? I would see if I can just restart the jrun server process but it is running on a windows machine and my OpManager
