OpMgr stop collecting data on Linux after server rebooted
Hi We have scheduled one of the server to reboot on weekly basis. Right after the server rebooted, OpManager stop collecting the data - doing test monitor also failed. Test credential is success. Please help to check further on this. -- Regards, Anandharaj System Engineer (Unix / Linux)
OpManager SQL DB Creation
While installing OpManager you are given the choice to use a MS SQL backend. Unfortunately, the installer won't allow you to use a pre-created database. It has to create the DB itself. The default created database uses terrible initial size and autogrowth settings. I don't want Manage Engine to tell me what use here. How can I pre-create the database and just let the installer populate the tables without having to let it do the actual DB creation?
After upgrade to 9200, "Consecutive times" no longer respected for threshold alarms
We've got most of our alarms set to go off after threshold is violated 5 or 6 times in a row. After update to 9200, alarms get activated after threshold is breached JUST 1 TIME.... This is generating a lot of false alarms for us!
Opmanager time problems in reports
I am running OPManager in my environment but I am having a time problem. My System on which I have install OPManager is having a correct time in PST. but OPManager is showing its time in ACT. Kindly guide me how to change or edit the date and time settings in OPManager. Treat it as urgent because it is directly reflecting my uptime reports. please see the attached file of time problem as i need PST time Waiting for your urgent and positive response.
Memory Dial problem
Hi, I'm configuring the switches and it has the problem. The Memory of switch dial is showing wrong number. As you see, SNMP value is 49% but dial is showing 12%. Is there any way to solve this problem? Thank you in advance.

Report Time Windows
I'm currently evaluating OpManager with a view to it replacing our current monitoring solution. One of the things that could well make my mind up is the reporting function. We have to produce monthly availabilty reports for areas of our network. Most areas have operating hours of 8am to 10pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm at weekends although these vary across the network. Is there any way of customising the Time Window option for reports? The only choices available are All Day and 8am to 8pm. It would

Dear all In a device which is discovered the SNMP works fine and in Device Details the connection for Test credential with specified SNMP passed. But in Process Monitor some of them like for example backplane utilization does not work while I Click on Test Monitor. It gives me below errors : Possible reasons 1. Different Views for different users in OPM
I want to be able to split up devices - namely IT-group1, and IT-group2. Neither group should see either other's devices, but they should have full access to manage their devices I understand Business Views, but the problem there is that the users don't have access to all the other options, like netflow, virtualization, IPAM, NCM, etc... Cisco CatOS IfIndex changes
Hi there, I've added a Cisco 6509 running CatOS to OpManager and I'm adding specific 'interesting' interfaces that I want to monitor (uplinks to the firewall, MPLS routers, dot1Q trunks and point to point links etc. When OpManager discovers the available interfaces on the device, it doesn't show the configured interface description in the 'Display Name' column. for example, I've added a description of "Firewall1" to one of the interfaces, but OpManager returns "10/100/1000 utp ethernet-7/6".

VMware datastore usage
Hi there, We monitor our VMware hosts and alert on disk utilization. We use thin provisioned virtual servers. The issue is that Opmanager reports on disk provisioned space vs datastore size and not actual free space. e.g. Datastore_1 Actual size = 1TB Provisioned for VMs = 500GB Actual used is 100GB Vmware reports 500GB free and not 900GB free. Can this be changed as although I would like to know about provisioned space, I am more concerned about actual space remaining. Thanks

VMware ESX Upgrade
Hi We have recently upgraded to VMware ESXi 5.0. OpManager has retained the monitoring set up for the VM's OK and I have added in the new servers. However no stats are showing for the hosts. I have checked that the password is correct. If I remove the hosts will that also remove the VM's from monitoring as well? Thanks.
Device statistics lost after upgrade... any way to get them back?
After upgrading to build 9200, it seems as though all device statistics got wiped for me. By that, I mean if I try to generate reports for my devices and use any time period prior to the OpManager upgrade (which I performed a month ago today), there is no data available. I do not remember which build we upgraded from (8100 perhaps?). Is there any way to restore those statistics? I did make a backup of the database beforehand, but I'm not sure how to restore just the statistics, or if it's at all
Monitoring Exchange
I am testing the latest version and have a few questions in regards to monitoring Exchange 2003. A credential is needed to monitor exchange. How secure is it to use such an account with administrator rights? For testing, I created a local admin account on that machine. Also, would I be able to monitor a Mailbox Store if it is dismounted? Is anyone here successfully using OpManager to monitor Citrix XenServer 5.5 hosts? If so, any tips or hints? It does seem that OpManager monitors the console memory instead of total memory utilization (just like in ESX).

When we click on the first link of the 'infrastructure snapshot' or 'device summary' then they should expand and should show the devices in it but it is not expanding. Hi Its is possible for OpManager to work with a 3rd party SMS gateway provider such as http://www.textanywhere.net/? For our internally developed systems, we use http://www.textanywhere.net/ and messages are sent to as SOAP webservice requests. Or is there a tutorial on getting OpManager (running on vSphere) to work with a GSM phone, I'm confused how the Device is shared with the VM.
Cisco 2960 switch adding temperature monitor

Hi, We use HP, 3Com, H3C switches and routers in our network. Opmanager doesn't show the CPU, Memory, Backplane utilization of those devices. And those devices are not classified at the discovering process as switches or routers and go to unknown category.
