Log file agent question
I am using the log file agent, and I am confused about the option "If the condition is matched X consecutive times". What exactly is this referring to? Twice in the same line? Two lines in a row? The meaning I was hoping for is "Found in 2 consecutive monitoring periods" but that does not seem to be the case. I am monitoring a robocopy logfile for the string "error". It will occasionally try to copy a temporary file that it can't grab a lock on and generate an error which I'd like to ignore. However,

I am trying to add ESX servers to Opmanager (9200). When I add the ESX server using SNMP credentials, I receive this message: This device been monitored using SNMP, monitoring VMware ESX using SNMP is deprecated from this release. Do not use ESX Server template. For more details, click here. Please delete this server and use HTTPS credentials to Discover VMWare ESX Server. Notify Customers of Planned Outage
It would be nice to assign customers to devices, and then schuedule regular maintanence within opmanager and that will notify the customers associated to devices of said maintanence via email. Hello, I am trying to keep an eye on the memory usage of a specific executable in Windows. The exe in question is msftesql.exe, it normally runs at about 1GB but can spike to as much as 3. Is there a way to list all devices that are not currently associated with a business view. I have over 300 servers and some are not in a business view.(added via discover multiple devices) I want to be able to see which ones have no associations and make the connection. Is this a possibility?
Alarm stuck in Opmanager
Hi, Somehow a alarm is stuck. In the overview dashboard, there is one error on Virtual Devices, but there are no alarms. When i go to Alarms tab / All Alarms, the list is empty. How can i delete this stuck alarm on Virutal Devices? (Please see attachment.) Kind Regards, Bastiaan van Haastrecht
device display name
I have created a new Business View named Internet and added the related network devices. Wheoun I link two devices together the device name shows as name&ip address even though I edit the device and change the display name after sometime it revert back. Is there a way to fix this? Regards
Enable AJP Connector in 9200
Hi All, We have been running OpManager for a few years now with AJP / mod_jk listening on 8009 and a httpd running on a nother system that forwards / proxy requests to the opmanager system. Today we upgraded to 9200 and the 8009 connector has been disabled. I have edited the server.xml file but each time you restart OpManager it re-writes the server.xml file and removed the connector config. Does anyone know how to re-enable the AJP / mod_jk connector in tomcat? Regards, Ben

OpManager failing on ssl login
Hi, has anybody encountered issues with HTTPS logins to OpManager after upgrading to build 9200? We recently upgrade our install of OpManager to build 9200. OpManager continued functioning as normal. it was accessible when browsed to via HTTPS, it continued to collect SNMP information and email alerts. However, our install of OpManager while still accessible via HTTPs is now refusing login requests for the admin and operator accounts. It also stopped sending email alerts as of last Wednesday. I
OpManager Netflow Plugin Interface names
On my ASA I initially did not have the SNMP community set correctly (within the netflow plugin), however now that I have corrected it the Netflow plugin will not correct the interface names (all index#). Any tips on how to correct this? Also I was playing around with the default community string setting for the netflow plugin and found that it always defaults to interface description, if I try and change it to name or alias the setting is not remembered.
clear alarm to reflect the real picture of the production
Hi I have cleared all critical alarms for one device directly in the database using SQL script. replacing the value non equal to 5 in the severity field with value 5. In the alarm page in my console, it's well synchronized with my database so all alarm are cleared for that device. But in the snapshot page of the same device in my console, still have a red X indicating that still there alarms for this device. How can I fix this issue ? I mean, if I clear all alarms for a device, in the snapshot

Add monitor to ESX Host
How do you set up memory or cpu monitoring for a ESX host? When I click on the ESX host in opmanager, click on the monitors tab I dont see an area where to add add'l monitors.

hello friends i've installed opmanager 8 under windows 7 but when i start the opmanager sever nothing happen and when i try to access to the webconsole there is nothing either.at first i noticed that the url in the address bar is just http:\\localhost instead of http:\\localhost\LoginPage.do so change it but nothinh again .of course the server must be first enable but i can't do that . so what do you think : is there another version of opmanager that fit with windows seven or just there is another

Is There a Preferred Order to Add Hosts or Guest VMs?
We have a rather large list of VM servers we need to add to OpManager. The VM admin person is so busy he is taking quite a while to add the hosts to OpManager, so we are wondering if there is any problem with adding the VMs now--prior to their hosts being added? WMI Performance counter, can I add DB2 counters to monitior?
I am thinking to use OpManager9.0 for my customer. I wonder if I can monitor DB2 performance monitor on Windows 2008 R2 servers. Hi, I am using OpManager (build 9101) to monitor out network environment and would like to be able to monitor the link status of some interfaces on our switches but not others. I have used the 'Configure Ports' function to unmanage switch interfaces which I would not like traps to generate alarms for but I am still getting alarms for some of these interfaces: 'The LinkDown trap is received from WALNWS002.The trap details are as follows , ifIndex.89: 89 , ifAdminStatus.89: down , ifOperStatus.89:
Is there any way to configure alerts to repeat until cleared?
A concern has been brought up in my department regarding missed alerts. Is there any way to configure OpManager to keep reissuing alerts until they are aknowledged, cleared or deleted? Thanks, Rob

Hello, I moved to the latest version of OPmanager and I'm doing some tests with agent that we can install on servers. I installed agent on a server and in Admin tab - agent it tells 1 agent installed but nothing is showed in the list. I would like also get documentation about agent what it is doing exactly. File Size Monitor stating file does not exist
I am relatively new to OpManager, so please bear with me. I am attempting to monitor the size of the security log file for our servers. I ensured the WMI credentials were correct and that the path was correct, but upon testing the monitor I am told that the file does not exist. Exchange Server 2010 monitoring problem
Hi, Our customer is trying eval version OpManager 9200, we have trouble about finding Exchange servers/SQL servers We have 4 Exchange Servers 2010 and 8 SQL servers need to be monitoring, but after discover procedure, these devices was looked like generic servers (see attachment). Is there any method to tell OpManager which servers are Exchange Servers/SQL Servers, or this is a limitation of eval version? Do you have a list for me to tell the difference between eval version and licensed version.
Installed 3rd Party SSL and cannot access OpManager
Yesterday, I installed Entrust Certificates. I changed the port number to 443. Now I cannot access OpManager via the url using either port 443 or 9090. Notifications are no longer being sent either. I need to get this fixed asap! Thanks for any support.
SNMP Devices Showing as Non-SNMP in Report
We have some Linux and one Windows server in Taiwan that are showing up on the Inventory report as Non-SNMP devices, however they are SNMP enabled and we are getting traps from them. Any reason why they might still be showing up on the non-SNMP devices report?
F5 BigIP/LTM/GTM monitoring Support
Hi, Can anyone advise if they have managed to get F5 BigIP/LTM load balancers monitored under OPManager, if they have a template that they can share or better still have Opmanager support got any plans to create a default template for these devices. There seems to quiet alot of support them using Cacti, nagios etc but very little if no mention in OpManager. Cheers.
VMWare HA cluster with DRS
Hi, Have a HA cluster running. Use DRS to power off hosts for power saving. But everytime DRS powers off an ESX host in the cluster, OPManager keeps generating alerts until the host is powered on again. On the vCenter server the host is being displayed as in standby mode. Is there any way to have OPManager recognize that the host was powered off by DRS?

I've upgraded to v9.2 of opamanger and we're STILL experiencing the issue of AD on a VM. When will this issue be resolved? We're quickly virtualizing our environment and need to sperate the DC monitoring from the VM monitoring is not what is expected. Thank you.
Display Name and DNS Name don't match
I'm still trying to get this to sync up. I had an issue where the Display Name would not update if an IP address of a device changed on a box so I switched so it would search by display name and the IP address could change for each device but it's all a little kludgy. There ought to be a way to get both a) the IP address of a DNS name to update when that IP changes on a particular machine and b) the DNS name to change the display name if a particular host is renamed. I run into problems with both

Hi, Our customer is evaluating OpManger, User is going to purchasing essential license for 100 device, But I found the following message: This copy of add-on is to monitor 5 virtual hosts, the remaining 4 hosts will not be monitored using this add-on. Please contact support@opmanager.com to purchase an upgrade. Is this the restrict for evaluation only ? If there are total 10 hosts with 60 VMs. How much device license will it spend? Thanks.

I have an issue with opmanager rounding values i am grabbing rPDU total load which needs to be divided by 10 to put in amps but opmanager drops the decimal value. 28/10 =2.8(.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.2.3.1.1.2.1)/10 =2 i need this fixed asap Thanks, Stephen

Uptime alarm?
Hello, been browsing the forum for a while and i couldn't find what i was looking for so here it goes: We would like to monitor the uptime and make it warn if a server haven't been rebooted after lets say 180 days. I've tried to set this up with a normal threashold and a notifcation profile but the sysuptime answers in second which leaves me with a long number of digits. And if i write in the calculated amount of time to try to make it warn after some time it doesn't alarm anyway. Any ideas on how
Change Router Health Graphs
Hello, Is it possible to change the graphs lists under the "Router Health - Today" tab? Is it also possible to add more tabs? Maybe a tab for Bandwidth, IP Pool count, etc. I found the opmanager_snapshotinfo.xml file. Is there an easier way to update or change this file? It would be nice if the tab was able to be custom created.
Min Monitoring Interval time
I'm using Opmanager 9. Is there a patch or other method that allows the monitoring interval for URL monitors to be less than 1 minute? I need finer resolution than 60 seconds in order to properly track a web service performance issue. Thanks, Frank
