Monitoring MSSQL Instance
Hi, I have given my best and i couldn't figure out how to get MSSQL database monitored, here's the following steps i have done. 1. Add Server 2. Go to Performance Monitor 3. Go to MSSQL Tab 4. Select any options available from list 5. But as soon as i add it, it give me an option saying Select Database, but there's no database listed, i have 4 database available. Note: OpManager is able to monitor all other stuff like CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization and Disk Utilization could some one let me
Remove Disk Utilization Check?
I'm monitoring over 350 servers and have determined that I have no use for the Disk Utilization Check since I monitor and alarm on each individual disk. Is there a way to globally remove the Disk Utilization Check on all servers instead of having to do it on each one individually?
OpManager CPU Utilization always at 100%
OpManager shows the CPU utilization of many servers at 100%. When on the actual server they are much lower than that and it needs to be fixed. Thanks.

Opman Tab error (9200)
Hi! I updated Opman from 9101 to 9200 yesterday and since then I am having problems on updating tabs for the interface. Infact there are no tabs there at all for any user including admin. Is there a way to restore the original tabs? When I try to put tabs there and save the applications prompts Error and nothing more. Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem? OpManager - Widget/Dashboard faults
Unable to see "core routers, switches, routers etc" in the Infrastructure snapshot on the Home, Overview dashboard. When i click edit It shows them in there but fails to display in the actual overview. Tried to add a new Widget and get the error "Error Type: LoadXLM, Description: Incorrect XML" when i click ok, the error goes away but i can't add any widgets.
Business View
I have recently upgraded to the latest version of OpManager and it seems to have effected my Business View. It is only a simple view with 3 locations, but the box is very big and messes up my dashboard view. Is there a way to change the size of the box? I have attached a picture to show what I mean. OpManager Service Pack Install error

Can you apply a Rule Engine to existing devices
Hi I have created a few rules using the Rule Engine, and it works nicely for new devices. For example I have created a new rule that adds a bunch of Windows service monitors to some of our servers. Now I would like to add those services to some of the existing devices. In stead of using the Quick Configuration Wizard to add the services one by one it would be nice to just apply the rule to my existing devices. Is that possible (Without deleting and readding the devices)?
Edit thresholds System Monitors
Is (and how) it possible to edit the system monitor thresholds under Active Directory Monitors. I want to adjust the thresholds but have to do this for each domaincontroller (35x) And is it possible to make multiple Windows 2008 device templates. Extra accounts in 9200?

OpManager Error 12029
Hi, We are using Opmanager to monitor WAN activity in real-time, and for that we set up a monitor in the communications department. The thing is, that after a while, Opmanager will start showing this error message: 12029: Unknown We have to clear that error window in order to keep seeing the real-time graphs, but since the browser is opened on a dedicated computer, directly connected to the monitor, this is not acceptable. Any ideas why this error happens? and more importantly how to fix
Printer Notifaction Question
We are doing an eval of OpManager and ran into this issue. We imported about 140 networked printers and we were going to setup a notification profile for them by using the wizard so we could do them all at the same time but it seems that option to trigger the notification "when any [selected] Print Monitor is down" is not available when trying to apply to multiple printers at once. Installing OpManager 9 with MS SQL database on an other server.
I want to install OpManager 9 using MS SQLserver on an external server. I have installed MS SQL 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 R2 and created an Named Instance NI01. In SQL Server Configuration Manager (Protocols for NI01) I have removed the value 0 for TCP Dynamic Ports, and used 1433 as TCP port. Our server is running low on disk space and the following path is taking up most room: C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\central\logs_archive Size - 21.4GB. all files in are text documents, and dated today (20/07/12) and yesterday (19/07/12) Does anyone know if it is safe to remove any of these files? thanks steve

Interface Status Change Monitoring and Alerting
It is typical for user access interfaces on our switches to go up and down mainly due to laptops users disconnecting from their desks. However, we still want to monitor the up/down status for if the interfaces go up or down too many times in a given period. IBM Blade Center Inventory
Hey guys It would be great if OpManager could display and save in the OpManager database the inventory of the blades in a IBM Blade Center. This would make it a lot easier to find which Blades are in what Blade Center. I would also love to be able to see this viewable on a dashboard. I have tried to do this with a custom monitor and the IBM supplied MIBs. It does display the name of the blades and the blade slot. But it does not save the info in the database. So I cant search for the info and

Need Suggestions for Using OpManager for Asset Management

Notification Rule Scheduling Questions
When using a notification profile schedule: - Is the time reference the actual time on the OpManager(9200) server? - I have a schedule that starts at 17:00 and ends at 05:00(overnight), how does it span days? If I have this set for Mon & Tue, does it run from 00:00-05:00 on Mon, then 17:00 on Mon through 05:00 on Tue and then from 17:00-23:59 on Tue? New OPM Rule engine problem
new discovery rule engine is interesting feature. For test decided to add several devices to OPM. And rule was 'if new device is server, add to the business view serverView 3'. There were 4 servers. Yes. Those servers added to business view 'serverView 3' correctly. And this is the problem. Server's icon and names got placed over and over. If there were about 25 servers... it might get really ugly to rearrange. I was expecting something like this. Tidy, ready to go.

Custom Linux/Solaris scripts are not triggering web alarms
Hello, Personal experience has shown that web alarms are not being generated when custom Linux / Solaris script thresholds are being exceeded. This may be affecting all custom scripts, but at this time we're only running them on the Unix side of our environment. Might anyone know if this is a bug, or if I am simply missing a configuration setting? I am currently running build 9101 in a Windows 2008 Server 64-bit environment.
OpManager and WSUS on same server
I'm wanting to install Opmanager 9 on a 2008 x64 server that has WSUS installed. WSUS I believe is using MySQL. I'm wanting to use MySQL that comes bundled with OpManager. My concern is that the OpManager install will affect WSUS. Anyone tried this combination before or know if there is any issue?
SQL Monitoring
Hello, I am trying to monitor one of our SQL services and I have it added to opmanager along with the associated monitors however, it appears that it is not collecting data and it does not bring up a list of databases on that sql server. I have SNMP and WMI setup correctly and when I test the credentials, it passes successfully. Can anyone shed some light on what may be happening ... opmanager is at the latest build 9101 Thanks
