Device Type and Monitoring Error After Update to 6005
HI, I updated Opmanager MSP from 6002 to 6005 and after it, when I add a new device and try to change �device Type� or �Monitoring�, the Opmanager shows a popup error. I attached a screenshot
Devices not discovering / Devices going missing
I am currently using the free version of OpManger. I have Discovered the devices I need to. A couple of them are still being put in to the Desktop Category despite being 2003 boxes. I have verified all snmp settings are on and correct. The next problem is, domain controllers keep vanishing. I have checked all the default categories and they are no where to be found! The devices are still up and running. I have tried rediscovering the devices that go missing but OpManager says I have already used
OOB Monitors appear to be missing
I just upgraded my opmanager to 7021 and now when I try to add a performance monitor to a server, there are not in the list. All I get is a single line of text saying click here to add a custom monitor. Right now I am trying to add a simple disk usage monitor to a newly discovered server. Furthermore, if I remove an existing monitor and try to readd it, I cannot find it anywhere. This happens no matter what category of monitor I try to add. How do I get the monitors back?
MSP 6005 released....
Hi , We did a quick release on MSP to offer the much asked for features in remote control module. With the new 6005 release you can now do a control+alt+del automatically while logging into the remote machine. This helps you to troubleshoot unattended remote servers that are either locked or not logged in. List of items that have gone into 6005: Remote Control issues fixed in the NAT environment of MSP setup. Logged Off or Locked Machines can now be controlled by using OpManager MSP Remote Control.
Migrating from OpManager Pro to MSP?
Is it possible to migrate data from OpManager Pro to the MSP version? I know it was not in the past but I didn't know if version 7 uses the same database format as MSP.

Brocade Silkworm "not a switch"
I am trying to port map a brocade silkworm 2800 fibre switch but when I run switch port mapper Oputils returns that the device is not a switch. OpManager also only returns the managment interfaces and not the fabric connections? Please help Mark
Interface display names
Hi, I'm running opmanager 7021 and i'm having a problem with display names on the interfaces. On all the migrated switches (from 6 to 7) they are just set to default. ie. the same as the interface name and if i add new switches it fills in the field with the description from the switch...which is what i want. Unfortunately though it won't update. If i change information on the switch and do a re-discover on the device or interfaces it doesnt update. the only way seems to be to delete and re-add the
Monitor naming creates error
Hi, I dont know where is the best place to submit this, but I found a "bug". When creating a custom monitor, the interface allow the ' character, however, when trying to change the Treshold on the monitor with a name containing a ', an error occur, since it screw up the SQL query. Exchange SMTP monitors show not data OpManager 7
I use OpManager 7 and my Exchange server does no show any data in the SMTP monitors area. When I test any of them the result is: Protocol WMI 1. The device might be down. 2. The username and password provided for this device might be wrong. 3. The domain password for this device was not provided 4. Database Tips
Hi We had an event that reports shows no data available and I tried to run an repairdb. After reparing, reports started to show data. I want to know the ff: 1. Why did our database got corrupted all of a sudden? 2. How do we ensure or maintain a good database? 3. How do we check if a database is corrupt since OPManager still worked even a corrupted database was found during repairdb? Thanks

Unable to apply Interface Template change to devices
Hi there, I have just upgraded to OpManager build 7020 (from 6005 - big steps!!) and everything seems fine, however one thing I have noticed is that I cannot apply a change I make to an Interface Template, to the devices. As an example if I modify the Interface type 6 (Ethernet) from a Utilization threshold of 30, to 80, eventually I get a list of all the devices/interfaces and it tells me to click Save to apply the change. I click Save, and get a blank screen. I then either need to go back in my
Multiple Duplicate Interfaces
I am seeing multiple duplicate interfaces on my routers. I was having the 0% availability problem so I upgraded to 7021 and performed the change IP address work-around. They are ok today so far except for the duplicate interfaces. Deleting them works temporarily, but only temporarily. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

MSP 6005 - Selected asset is not scanned yet
I'm having a problem with the " Selected asset is not scanned yet" message appearing in anything I click under Device Info in the Device Snapshot page. SNMP is working on the affected servers. A hint as to what I'm doing wrong would be great. Thanks.

Historical Reporting
Hi, When I try run some historical reports, i.e over a periond of 60 days, it uses the daily historical data out of the database. The problem is that it seems to only keep the last dataset recorded for that day (screenshot attached), usually a value taken at around 11:59pm. This is faily useless to us, as at time traffic is fairly low. Is there anyway it can calculate the max and average values for these days and keep them in the database, before purging the detailed data. This would make much more

I have some questions on Opmanager database platforms. Currently we are running OpManager 7021 with a MS-SQL 2000 backend managing 235 servers, 151 switches and 35 routers (still more coming). Domain controller is giving no information
One of my domain controllers is giving no information any more, when i try something i'm getting access denied. This occured after the upgrade from op6 to op7 or after a patch. LSASS CPU Usage
Version 7 build 7021 I deleted the Domain Controllers group because I don't have the Active Directory plugin.. Now I'm getting an alert "LSASS CPU Usage is 99 % Processor Time, threshold value for this monitor is 90 % Processor Time " It could be a result of upgrading to 7 three weeks ago, but I can't find the location on how to change the threshold. How do I change the threshold?? It might be a suitable level, but i just want to know where to change it.

Since updating to 7021 only the admin account may edit business views even though other accounts have full access to those views.
OP Manager MSP Edition manual
I am just getting started using OP Manager MSP Edition. From my limited use/experimentation, it looks like the MSP edition has some significant differences from the non-MSP edition. However, I can't seem to find a user guide/manual for the MSP edition. One example of something I am trying to do is configure thresholds on a device type. Getting my head around most things but I'm getting this error; Selected asset is not scanned yet When clicking anything under Device Info on the Device Snapshot page. SNMP is running and working on the devices. I've had a look through the knowledge base and forums but can't find anything. A hint in the right direction would be nice!
No error append using 'a Run command notification profile'
if an error or event occur, opmanager triggers my program to run but my program does not receive any error message with it as argument. the check boxes: 'err append' and 'append' are both checked. i tried it with a batch file, a java program and net send command but without success. what could be the problem ? Hostresource.xml documentation for parsing output?
I've had a search and I can't find anything. I've modified Shawn Jefferson's vbs script to check the value of the MS Exchange IS transport temporary tables (emails get occasionally stuck in here). Across two different servers the output of the script varies and I need to take the TempTableCurrent values reported for each server and monitor this with a threshold across intervals. Information Store Mailbox Logon Operations per second
This is one of the standard Exchange monitors, and it's doing the same for all of the exchange servers I'm monitoring. For some reason it seems to be acting perhaps as a cumulative counter, since the installation of the trial the value has just grown and grown. The current value it tells me is 163,000+ logons per second - no way could the box do/is doing that. When I run perfmon and look at the value there, I am peaking at 3 logons/sec mostly at 0. Can not remove alarm...tried all the tricks
One of my W3K server snapshots has a windows event alarm that will not delete (or show details which is just blank on clicking link) I am quite used to clearing ghost and stuck alarms in the three weeks I have had opmanager but this one got me beat. Have... Show alarms - select - clear and delete - just get blank Show alarms - delete all - just get blank page. deleted "event" rows for source via mysql. Strangely it does not appear. (So what table is it?) Changed IP to force alart aka clear ghosts

When I update a device template and apply it to servers, the servers dont get updated. :(
OpManager 7 fails to start
Hi, OpManager is failing to start. The errors which I get is, "Oops looks like a few tables are corrupted" Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server. I have that option and now I have another problem where it will not start fully. Have DB errors now. I have attached the errors and messages displayed. Would appreciate if someone could help. Thanks
