Historical Reporting

When I try run some historical reports, i.e over a periond of 60 days, it uses the daily historical data out of the database. The problem is that it seems to only keep the last dataset recorded for that day (screenshot attached), usually a value taken at around 11:59pm. This is faily useless to us, as at time traffic is fairly low. Is there anyway it can calculate the max and average values for these days and keep them in the database, before purging the detailed data.
This would make much more sense.
