Interface display names

Hi,

I'm running opmanager 7021 and i'm having a problem with display names on the interfaces.
On all the migrated switches (from 6 to 7) they are just set to default. ie. the same as the interface name and if i add new switches it fills in the field with the description from the switch...which is what i want.
Unfortunately though it won't update. If i change information on the switch and do a re-discover on the device or interfaces it doesnt update. the only way seems to be to delete and re-add the switch. Not entirely practical everytime i patch a new port.

Does anyone know a way around this?

We are using cisco 3550 and 3560 switches.
