Sending GOOD messages
Hi, in the former product we used to monitor our network (devices) there was a possibility to create a so called GOOD message, which means that you receive (in our case) an email that tells you the device is working again. That's especially helpful if you only have short interruptions and the error condition 'disappeared' by itself. Is there a way to do so in Opmanager?? :?:

URL Monitor
Is it possible to use a different proxy server for each URL monitoring profile? The reason for that is we have two internet connections from two different ISPs and each connection has its own proxy server. I would like to use URL monitoring to monitor the availability of the internet connection as sometimes the internet connection goes down while the router interface remains up. I guess the only way to overcome such a limitation is to configure two URL monitors one for each ISP but to do that I
Intel NetportExpress Print Servers
Hi Have have a number of NetportExpress(tm) 10 Single-port Print Server's on our network and was looking for advise on the following. I have added the device type but they are discovered as desktops. Is it possible to get these to be discovered as printers, and show the status simular to HP printServers? I have downloaded the mib files from intel, but if I try to load traps from MIB, it displays :- "Could not parse the file D:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/NP11.MIB The error occured
Unable to access Nokia MIBs
I have a Nokia appliance running Checkpoint. I would like to retrieve information from the Nokia MIBs. I have followed the instructions to copy the MIBS to the ./mibs directory. I get the following error when I try to load the MIB from MIB Browser: Error parsing MIB:NOKIA-IPSO-LBCLUSTER-MIB.txt Is there an error log where I can find out the particular parsing error? I have attached the MIB file. Thanks, Jeff
Interface traffic chart reports wrong information
We are currenlty testing OpManager in our environment and we are seeing some errors. The issues we are seeing is on a interface on a Cisco 6509. OpManager is reporting the max Tx traffic to be 40,000 kbps or 40 Mbps. On another monitoring tool we have had in for awhile the same interface is showing 400 Mbps..... So that tells me that one of these is wrong, but I am set to believ OpManager might be the culprit since this is a 2.0 Gb uplink interface. Has anyone else experienced issues like this before.
AIX monitoring
Hello, I'm trying to monitor some AIX servers via SNMP, but I have some problem, for example, even if I'm able to browse the CPU utilization with the command : HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad.1 = INTEGER: 0 HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad.2 = INTEGER: 0 I tried to add the corresponding resource monitor (snmp, cpu utilization via HOST-RESOURCES) but OpManager complains about the monitor is not responding
Creating Auto-Login links for the webclient

Cannot add Network to Discovery
I have just installed the demo of OpManager. When I try to add a network to the Discovery, it keeps telling me "Enter a valid network address". I have tried the following combinations: Network Address: 172.21.29.195 (my IP on my local network) Subnet: 255.255.0.0 (to include my other subnets of 172.21.29.*, 172.21.30.*, 172.21.31.*) I have also tried Subnet 255.255.255.0 I have also tried Network addresses 172.21.29.1, 172.21.29.255, etc... Nothing works! Please help! What am I missing?

Test of OpManager, support needed
Hi all! I'm testing OpManager with the intensions of replacing CA UniCenter. But I've got a few problems with HP-UX and Netware servers. Netware: The netware servers are running the hostmib.nlm (20040805) and I can use mib browser to see all required information. The CPU utilization monitor also work. This monitor are using the CPU Utilization based on HOSTRESOURCE MIB. But what should I do with disk and memory monitors? I know I could make custom monitors, but these things should work straight out
Email Notification
Hi, When I try to set up email proxy, and go to test message, I get the following error message: Unable to connect to the mail server. Please check if the Mail service is running on the specified port. The port I used was 25. The mail has to go through an Exchange server. Is there perhaps another port that must be used. Please help

How to get MS-SQL Server Stats
Hi, I have a Win2000 Server with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 installed. Windows is SNMP-enabled, and I have no trouble seeing it on my servers view. It also recognizes the MSSQL port. But, how do I configure my server and/or OpManager to view the information about the database statistics? I've seen it as a feature on the web site, but don't know how to enable it.... thanks!
2 Items
1) I see in another post that I am supposed to be able to setup Exchange 2000 monitoring items under applications. I only see Exchange 5.5. Where are the Exchange 2000 items? 2) None of the WMI items appear to work properly. I have removed the SNMP items that are setup by default, and replaced them with WMI for processor, memory and disk. If I go to test, I get a tests OK message, and the graphs get updated. No further updates take place, the last polled is blank, and the next polling time is set
CPU Utilization monitoring - buglet?
I noticed that CPU monitoring only checks UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuUser.0 but neglects to figure in UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuSystem.0 (or UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuIdle.0 for that matter). A server that has very high system CPU overhead will be graphed incorrectly in this case.
SNMP Trap Processors not capturing Trap Description from MIB
In order to make the notifications for Traps received understandable, I would like the notifications to focus on the "Trap Description" I would like in fact, to use the "Trap Description" in the subject line and exclude the OIDs. Here's an example from Trap Tests sent from an IBM Blade Center Management Module (BLADESPPALT-MIB) From OpManager "Load Traps from MIB" displays trap from above mib as: Trap Name__________ Description ibmMMTrapSysLogS___"System Alert: System Log 75% full." ... Trap notification

Add notes to any device please!!
Hi I would love to be able to add notes to any device in the same way you can add notes to an alarm. This would allow the system to be used for change management (any changes could be logged as a note) Also, I would really like to be able to attach external files (or at least hyperlinks) so that device configurations, contract documents etc can be readily accessed from the device within OpManger. It would be good to extend the integration with ServcieDesk so that any device can be linked to any asset
Custom Graphs using different SNMP Ports
I am trying to create a Custom Graph using another port besides 161. Checkpoint uses port 260 to access their enterprise mibs. I am able to get the value in MIB Browser because the parameter tab allows me to change the snmp port. I did not find this feature in the Custom Graphs window. Is there a workaround? Thanks, Jeff
Multiple SNMP Ports on a Device
Hi, I have two SNMP Agents running on a device - one on port 161 and the other on 165. I want to create Custom Monitors for the OID's exposed on each port. How do I do this? Thanks
OpManager Free Edition allows to manage 20 critical devices
Installing OpManager Free Edition allows you manage 20 critical devices in your network. I updated from OpManager build 5600 to 5601 (Free Edition) and the limit is always 10 devices... Is the free edition limited to 10 or 20 devices ? Thank you
Restricting user access?
I have been configuring OpManager for user logins for specific network views. My question is how to edit the top tabs for help, personalize, talkback etc. The issue is that after I assign a user a password they can change it through the personalize link. I am curious on where I could edit the .xml files to remove this feature, keeping the user from changing the password and appearance. I am also curious if I am able to add another email so when a user submits a talkback I cam CC'd on it as well.

Alarm Escalation Cycles
When defining an Alarm Escalation, what is the point of being able to define the rule timeframe down to minutes; (e.g. "If x category is not cleared within x minutes") ...if the email escalation can only be defined in hours? ( "Run this check every x hours") If an alert has not been acknowledged or cleared within x minutes, I need to escalate it immediately via email; How does one achieve this?
Feature request!
Hi, On the router/switch interface graphs of older data, I'd like to see two extra lines for maximum in/out traffic rates, as well as the average values reported at present. The traffic rates on these graphs are averaged down as you go back in time, and the maximum values are lost. A bit like what you can do with MRTG! many thanks, alec --
