Hello, If we set scheduled scans in Global Environment can we read the logs per day what was scanned? if yes where are the logs. tnx.
Event Logs Issue
I am not able to get any alarms from event log monitoring of the localmachine. After poking around on these forums, I found a post asking someone to test WMI by running: cscript event.vbs machinename domainname\administrator administratorpassword timeinterval(in seconds) The error I get is, "Error # User credentials cannot be used for local connections" If I rerun the above code and omit the username and password, it returns some event data. What can I do to monitor the event log on the same machine
Devices Do Not Delete
I am unable to delete devices from OpManager, from both the web interface or the client - no errors are shown when I click "Delete". any ideas? Thanks - Adrian.
Viewing Unsolicited Traps
I expect this is an easy one, but how do I view the full content of an Unsolicited trap? When I view through the WebUI, I can only see two lines of any Unsolicited trap, which doesn't give me enough on the detail to determine what the trap is about, and thereby create a trap processor. Is the full trap kept in the logs somewhere?
Alarm Escalations
Thanks to Gabriel for the tip on adding comma delimited addresses to the "To:" field on the Notification Profiles setup. That is going to help me overcome a large stumbling block I have. Along the same lines; I think the Escalation set up (Admin>Alarm Escalation) is a little too broad scoped. Correct me if I am interpreting this wrong, but let's say I have an alarm on one of my MX server, SMTP is down. I have the notification profile unix-mx-admins consisting of two SMS addresses and two email addresses
Notification per service
Hi, I have linux server that has apache and oracle installed on it. Would it be possible to configure the notification in such a way that if the oracle server goes down notify the DB administrator and if the Apache server has a problem notify only the system administrator. HotSpot VM error
Hi! I had OpManager running on Suse Enterprise Server 9.0. After running for a few day, it display "Internal Server Error" on browser client after login. The OpManager stop working and there are errors hs_err_pidxxxx.log on Opmanager Home Directory. After reboot, it will work for a few days and repeat the error...
Date sources other then SNMP
Is it possible to create data sources or service monitors other then SNMP? Like scrip or something for devices/services that do not support SNMP or WMI
OPManager on Linux : server start problem
Hi all, I'm trying to test OPManager but after installation on Linux Fedora Core 2 I had a problem starting the server.I receive a message saying that the port 80 is occupied by another application. I tried to change http port to 9090 with OPManager tols and also on the httpd.conf but also on the port 9090 I freceive the same message. Could you help me? Thanks Stefano

Hi, i am currently working with the SNMP/Traps/MIBs stuff. Whenever i want to load a MIB into the MIB-Browser, i get the following message in the box: Exception:Reading/Parsing MIB:java.io.FileNotFoundException: Could not open file C:/Program The path in real should be "c:\program files\ ...." - is there an issue with blanks in the file path ? - is ist possible to correct this ? System is WinXP SP1

Custom Reporting on Services
I might just be missing something so I thought I'd ask.... I'm trying to generate an availability report on the SMTP service for a given machine but the services aren't listed in the Available Metrics section of the reporter. Could someone point me int he right direction. On a tangent, if I could generate a report for all SMTP services that would be even better. Sorry if this has been answered in the past. I am evaluating opmanager 5.6. So far I can monitor several virtual and physical servers running Win200x with snmp and wmi. We run also 2 HP DL380G3 with VmWare ESX 2.5, SNMP enabled. From the snapshot page of these 2 machines I cannot monitor CPU Utilization correctly. If I use "Resource Monitors/SNMP/CPUutilization - hostresource mib" or "Resource Monitors/SNMP/CPUutilization - ucd snmp mib" the monitor displays wrong value. Have a cisco 2811 and cat2980G-A and cannot get info
I have configured my cisco 2811 twice and cat2980G-A twice as well...what am I doing wrong ? On the 2811 I believe the SNMP config is very simple.. snmp-server community public RO thats it .... Opmanager will poll on port 161. Even when using the MIB browser it cannot get the info...the error I am getting is : Request failed or timed out. I start the updatemanager.bat to verify the upgrade done or not , It show the 5.6 had been already installed (can be uninstall). Am I upgraded to 5.6 ? And can opmanager monitor the Netscreen 50 ? I add this device but it can't idenify it Netscreen even SNMP is open ~

Problem in Loading OpManager
Opmanager stopped working earlier when I went to delete a device and add a new one. When that failed I tried auto discovery and that is when OP crashed. I have since un-installed, rebooted and installed again several times. But this is what I get when attempting to load.... Non snmp nodes
I am running opmanager 5.6. On discovery some of my servers are being picked up as non-snmp nodes even though the snmp agent is running on them and all snmp parameters are correctly configured. This is driving me mad now as I have tried everything possible to correct it. I was wondering if there is perhaps a security setting that might be enabled on the servers. Has anyone come across this problem or have any ideas on fixing it as I could really use the input. Thanks.

Creating "group" SMS Alerts
Following a format of Create a notification contact -> assign that contact to a notification group -> assign that group to a host and/or service. Is it possible to go to Admin > Notification Profiles > SMS Alert > To Email Address and add a comma delimited list of addresses? or is there another way to accomplish this? Thanks in advance, Ryan

Availability shows down all the time
I have 10 devices that are responding but show down all the time in Opmanager. Only the today's availability shows down, all snmp services are responding.

NOTIFICATION PROFILES
Hello, From the Web client I am unable to create notification profiles. I use the following procedure; Admin tab - Global Settings -Notification profiles icon. Add new - Email Alert I then proceed to enter the information. Click Save MESSAGE = Notification profile added successfully. Here's the problem...It doesn't create the profile. If you could help me out it would be great. I was on the site and followed the howto section to make sure I was doing it correctly. Same proceedure but different screenshots.

OpManager and Insight Manager
I currently use Insight Manager to manage my HP servers. Does Opmanager give me the same information as Insightmanager about my HP hardware? (In the overview, it states that it monitors over 40 critical parameters on Compaq and Dell servers). Could I run the two products together, or should I just use one of them?
OpManager Will not start.
I have been having issues getting OpManager 5.6 running on a windows 2003 server. I have looked through previous threads on resolutions to this issue and have tried using the batch files found in to manually start it C:\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\bin and I have also renamed the my.ini file that was recommended in another thread, so far it still refuses to run and there is no noticable startup even though the service is started. Adding singel hosts from large subnet
Hello, im just evaluating OpManager for monitoring our servers. The situation is the we have server which are not in our private subnet. So when i add this servers to OpManager the whole subnet is added but i only want to add the single server. Is this possible? thx & bye Marcel
