Hello, I am having some serious trouble. I have no idea exactly how to put the Self portal online. When I use my web client, on my computer, it takes me to http://localhost:8080. But that page is not available on other computers. How do I put the the Self service portal on the internet, so my other clients can login, or submit tickets. Do I need special software? Is it available with the SD+ Free? Please let me know exactly how to add the Self-Portal to internet, using my domain. (support. XXXXX.com)
Alarm Escalation

Unable to add monitors with SNMP
I boght OPManager Pro and tried to creat CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization ,Disk Utilization and other Resource monitors on a server with SNMP. but when i look at the graph it that the data is not available. what can i do to fix it? (SNMP client IS installed on the server )

Suppressing Unnecessary Alarms from a Device
Hi, According to OpManager user guide its possible to "Suppressing Unnecessary Alarms from a Device". It suggesting to right click a device, choose configure and then "Alarm Suppression". Well, I cannot find such function. Right click on a device via Opmanager client web interface will not provide such option as "configure". Could some explain what/how such operation is done? I have unchecked "Notify" on Switch/Router ports discovered by OpManager, but still get this unnecessary alarms.
OpManager business views question
Hello! The business views option is very great! But is there a way to customize them ? For example, I would like to have a view for each brand equipment and when I click on them, I have for example the image of the real thomson equipment and on this image I would like to add (with a drag-and-drop??) the ports that I need to monitor? And when there is an alarm, it goes red... Currently, you can have a background image but on it, you can only add other business views or other devices. But you can't
Severity notification in Business Views
I am trialing OpManager at the moment. One issue I have found is that severities do not seem to get propagated upwards more than one level in the Business Views eg Country Business View -> State Business View -> City Business View -> ServerA. If an alert occurs on ServerA the City Business View turns red but the State and Country ones stay green. What am I doing wrong? Doug

Hi, We have intergrated opmanager and service desk so that a ticket is automatically open in servicedesk+ from the traps receive in Opmanager. The problem is that, it opens a ticket for each event received, resulting in many duplicates tickets for the same event. How can I limit/filter this. Thks
monitor a string value (and not integer)
Good morning, We are testing OpManager in order to replace our monitoring plateform... We have seen that it is possible to configure threshold to generate an alarm...But unfortunately, this threshold can only be an integer value. Several OID send string values and not integer values. We would like to monitor an oid which sends back a string value and send an alarm when the device sends the empty string "" or the string "error". Is it possible to do that maybe via the configuration files? Thanks in
Event Log Monitoring
Is it possible to do event log monitoring without the events triggering a critical level alarm? We just want an informational log of events. Right now every time someone in the company puts in a wrong password, it is flagged as a critical error on the domain controller and we get an email that the server is down. If not available, please consider for future release. I also echo the requests in here to have notifications stop after a number of occurrences specified by the administrator. Take a look

Name Resolution
I have just installed the 30 day evalution copy of Ops Manager (very nice tool) but I have a couple of problems that I hope someone can help me with. Firstly all the names of servers/workstations/printers appear as so: adsl-0-1-91.shv.bellsouth.net (with 91 being replaced by the IP address assisgned to that particular kit). Can anyone tell me why? Secondly there is no monitoring of any of the desktops. They are detected by the tool but there is CPU/Memory/Type info associated with them. Again any
Sub-minute polling of devices by OpManager
I'm using OpManager to monitor VoIP installations and was wondering if it was possible to set the polling of devices at rates higher than once per minute? This would be useful whenattempting to identify errors particularly as many calls are only a minute or two in length.
Rediscover Now gives error message
When I manualy runs Rediscover now. I get the following error message. Probe may be down/busy.Operation timed out The Central server and the probe are on the same network.

Integrating OpManager with Firewall Analyzer/Change Manager
I understand that OpManager can "monitor" firewall devices, but it does not seem to be as complete as the Firewall Analyzer in terms of actually capturing log files. OpManager also does not appear to have configuration management functionality. Do you have any plans to publish an integrated solution, primarily focused to MSPs, that bundle these products? Or is the only option "build your own" using WebNMS? Thanks!
Notification Problem, no mail arrives
hy everybody, i have add a new notification profile to an device. altogether i have 4 profiles for one device (server). profile1: interface monitor profile2: windows eventlog id: 8001 profile3: windows event id: 11;51;9;11;15 profile4: windows event id: 1001 (Save Dump);6008 the problem is: ever since i add the fourth notification profile no mail arrives. when i delete one profile (never mind which) mails comes on. probably a bug? thanks for help chris

Cisco Catalyst 4500 - No CPU Utilization
Hi... I'm not able to get the CPU utilization graph in OPManager, for my Cisco Catalyst 4500 switch. I tried the CPU utilization under SNMP based Resource Monitors and also under Cisco Monitors, but both give me the same result - "Data not available". Memory utilization is working fine but backplane utilization is always showing "0". I also tried it with the SNMP timeout 60secs, still no luck. Could you please help me resolve this issue. LINKSYS ROUTER
Hi, just want your expert opinion if OPmanager will work on my current setup to monitor activities of pc's connected to my modem/router. My DSL is connected to LINKSYS WAG54GX2 modem/router. i am connected to 1 port of the router, 2 switches connected to 2 other ports. 4 pc's are connected to 1 switch, and 2 other pc's on the 2nd switch. what's the best solution for me? appreciate any response. thanks.
Report of Services in OP Manager
Dear All, I've tried OP Manager. So Far It runs well and I also satisfy with the features. But in Report Menu , I think It's not complete because we could not find how to generate report of services ( I mean service avaibility ) whereas we can find report of server avaibility. I compare this feature with services avaibility report in What's Up. I really like What's Up in this side. But, Other features of Op Manager satisfy me. Correct me if i am wrong about this my opinion. Tx before for your attention.
Cisco PIX Monitoring
Why doesn't Opmanger montitor Cisco PIX Firewalls? It doesn't appear to monitor traffic, CPU usage or memory... I've read other threads about people having the same issue; and moving it to the router category does not work.
Size popup-windows
Multiple popup-windows are to small for there content. The windows are not sizeable. We get the small windows when you are creating a report (device-popup), clicking on memory,cpu or disk-utilization. We are using Citrix with Windows 2003 and a classic windows-style.(IE6)
HP5304 switch showing up in Router Category
I have an HP5304 switch that is correctly detecting the HP-Switch OS, but it being put in the Router Category. The major problem I am having is that when I change the category, the device completely disappears. What can I do to resolve this? David Conroy
MIB's and 3550
Hi, I have a cisco 3550 switch that I am currently monitoring. I can see memory, cpu, and all the interface traffic. But if I try to see STP port details it is all blank. Also if I click on switch port mapper, I get an error that BRIDGE-MIB might not be implemented and data not available. Doesn't the interfaces showing mean that bridge-mib is implememented? And lastly, I have traps being sent and they are not being converted to normal information. I have loaded the the OLD-cisco-ts-mib and all of
OpManager discovers ethernet ports but not ASI ports
Hi all, I have a problem with the monitoring of our telecom equipments. I added a non standard equipment, Opmanager can see it and receive its traps when I disconnect an optic fiber for example. OpManager discovers 11 Ethernet ports but any of its ASI or DTM ports. And the most important for us is the monitoring od the ASI port. I really don't understand this problem of discovery. Cannot add windows service monitors
I am using the free version of OpManager. Last week, I set up a server with several windows service monitors, and everything was working properly. Today, OpManager was reporting that every single service it was monitoring was stopped. I checked the server and the services were all running properly. I removed the windows service monitors from the device, and then attempted to add them again. When I click the link to iterate the current service on the device, I receive this error: Error # Not enough

Three Feature Suggestions
We have been using OpManager for over a year now. The software is great but, they are some additions that could be implemented. 1. I know you can change the port labels with in OpManager, but the port label [Description] should be pulled from SNMP. We use port descriptions for all our switches and it is very time consuming changing the port labels within OpManager. It would be awesome if the port labels were populated from the Switch using SNMP. 2. The ability to backup up Cisco configs on switches
MiB Folder Change
Hi I wanted to know, if it's possible to change the folder of the MiB Files. I installed the OpManager under the folder "Program Files" and I didn't watched at the underscore. Everytime I try to load another MiB, it brings me the Error: Exception:Reading/Parsing MIB:java.io.FileNotFoundException: Could not open file C:/Program Error parsing MIB:CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's possible to change this folder without reinstalling the whole OpManager?
