Three Feature Suggestions
We have been using OpManager for over a year now. The software is great but, they are some additions that could be implemented.
1. I know you can change the port labels with in OpManager, but the port label [Description] should be pulled from SNMP. We use port descriptions for all our switches and it is very time consuming changing the port labels within OpManager. It would be awesome if the port labels were populated from the Switch using SNMP.
2. The ability to backup up Cisco configs on switches and routers. We are currently using an open source project called Rancid, which works great. But, it would be nice to have this implemented in OpManager.
3. The Switch Mapper tool has its limitations, if the scans could be scheduled and the ability to have a search engine feature to search by IP Address, MAC Address or Port Label. We are currently using perl scripts from an open source project called SwitchMap.
