Uploading Config/Draft to Palo Alto
Demoing OpManager with the NCM add-on. The backup portion is working great. Now I am trying to take a config from firewall 1 and upload it to firewall 2 (new device with different IP). I have modified the draft config with the mgmt IP of firewall 2.

Devixe Expert custom reports not saving
Hi we have DeviceExpert build 5970 in production. When we try creating custom HW inventory reports we are unable to generate or save them. When we generate the report, it opens the home page on the popup window instead. When we save we get an error. This happens when we try selecting specific device types. If we use "custom groups" it seems to be working. What can be done to solve the problem? Thank you

After moving Opmanger to SSL I am getting an 404 error when I try to access NCM (http://localhost:6060) === type Status report message / description The requested resource (/) is not available. === I did try to uninstall the NCM plugin , delete the deviceexpert database and reinstall but the error persists. Is there a way to update DE's self-signed certificate? I am getting the error on Chrome and Firefox and it does not allow me to bypass: SSL received a weak ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key in Server Key Exchange handshake message. Backups not working? Upgrade not working?
Hi. We have NCM 5980, and database backups don't seem to work. The scheduled backup via GUI doesn't do anything (even though the page says the previous backup was then and then), and nothing shows in the backup execution history either. NCM help section says that there should be a BackupDB.bat file under NCM\bin folder to manually take backups, but it isn't there? I found a similar file under "D:\NCM\troubleshooting", and that creates a DB backup file, but the created backup is stored on the root
Exported configs are not formatted to be readable
I am trying to export a config to a text file using NCM. (I click on the config, then Export Config). However the resulting text file is completely unformatted. Can this export be formatted into a readable format?

Issue - Backing up Nortel 5500 via SSH

Change alert email sent but does not show
Good afternoon I receive alert emails for changes made by our engineers in our routers and switches configuration files. However, when I check the daily configuration change details, these changes can not be found. I have already checked the related change management rules and found nothing wrong. Any ideas why the changes indicated in the alert emails do not show in the daily view of the devices?

We are exporting the config files using the export tool and once we do a mass change on them how can we import them back in without opening every config and copy / pasting to each device? I have almost 300 routers we need to make a change on and would like to do it in bulk.

Create new Device Template Name in DeviceExpert
Hi, I am trying to add a new SysObjectID in the DeviceExpert. I click on Admin -> SysObjectID Finder. Then I put the IP address of a Juniper switch, click on "Get now". It says: SysObjectID not available in DeviceExpert database. Add SysObjectID and try device discovery. I clicked on "Add SysOID" button. A window pop-up. DE backup operation creates "User authentication failed" messages on Cisco ASA 5500
DE is able to backup a Cisco ASA5500 successfully. However, viewing the event logs on the ASA during a backup, shows that DE made multiple login attempts during one backup procedure. It looks like there were 3 successful logins and one failed login during each and every backup procedure. Why are there multiple logins?...I assume for each command issued? like, "show version" "show running-config" "show startup-config" etc. Why is there a failed login?...can this be fixed? Thank you
NetGear Backup Device Command Incorrect
When attempting to perform a device backup of a NetGear ProSafe switch, the backup command line that is being sent to the switch is incorrect which causes a failure of the backup. Is there a way to manually modify the backup command so that it is correct? Backup Config on Avaya Media Gateway

Device Expert Error on Server Settings Page
When clicking on "Server Settings" in the administration area of device expert, a window briefly pops up saying NTLM authentication failed, redirecting to login page. This began after I changed my server IP on version 5560. Upgrading to 5570 did not fix it. Any ideas? Is there a process for changing the server IP that I should have done? Thanks, Jerry
Error on Linux deleting device v5580
I started it up. Installed it... added a single device. did a config backup via ssh real quick... then i wanted to delete it. Errors out says it failed to delete. Generates this in the ncm0.txt .. and yes I've restarted the service... still same error. Connecting to Foundry Devices from DeviceExpert
I recently upgraded to build 5601 of DeviceExpert, and ever since then, it will not connect to my devices with Telnet or SSH. I did a packet trace of a telnet attempt and found that it was hanging after the username was sent. The only thing I really noticed is that all of the return text from the switch ended in a carriage return/line feed, where when the username was sent, it only sent a line feed at the end. Has anyone else seen this, and if so, is there a fix? Thanks!

Evaluation of DeviceExpert is rocky so far
So far in our evaluation we are seeing lots of problems with the backup scripts not grabbing the correct files from various devices including F5 BigIP and Checkpoint Firewalls. On the F5, you are looking for a file that does not exist and on the Checkpoint you are backing up a single file that is not complete enough to restore a failed firewall. Is there a way to directly access the config scripts to fix them?
