Real-Time USB Audit Alerts....
Hi, I have seen some posts about supporting real-time USB audit alerting in the near future. This is a feature we are desperate for. There are some users we simply want to monitor rather than block. The USB audit report can only be sent daily. This greatly restricts our ability to be reactive with users who are permitted to use their USB ports.... Is there a road-map for this? Patched Computer - Windows Update still Attempts Install
I have deployed Office 2010 Service Pack 2, and it shows under the list of Installed Updates on the computer, however Windows Update on the computer keeps trying to download it still thinking that it's still needed images.

Android Agent Download
Hi I'm testing the MDM features of DC with a single device. The enrolment email comes through OK, and I add the certificate etc successfully. However, when the confirmation web page is displayed on the phone's screen telling me that the agent was downloaded correctly and to select it from the notification area, nothing is actually downloaded to the device - there's no apk available, nothing in the downloads etc. Help!
Software Deployment Install Path
Good afternoon all. I am new to MDM and playing around with some of the different features. I am having some difficulty with software deployment. We do not install to the default path in our environment. We use something like "x:\installs". I cannot find a place in the package set up or deployment setup to change the install path. Problems with remote control.
Hello, I'm having a few issues with the remote control feature. I cannot connect to any computer for one of two reasons. The first is when the viewer opens but says "Waiting for Presenter" and never loads. The second won't open the viewer, but when I go back to the remote control section it says "Remote Control Port is not reachable from the client computer." under remarks.
Brand new to Desktop Central
Afternoon Everyone! Okay, I am brand new to Desktop Central 8, and I am having a bit of trouble getting the Remote Control / Remote View to work on computers that are in our other offices outside of this network. I have no trouble at all using the software to connect to machines within the LAN (the agents were installed through the AD server using my AD admin account). I Want to change the DS server from One PC to another in one of teh remote offices. Is it possible to havce 2 DS server in one remote office?.. Desktop Central from Windows XP to Server 2012

DTC Agent
Hello All, I am new to Desktop Central and have taken over administrating it from a former employee. I have updated DTC to 80269 but I have noticed that the agent has not updated on the clients. Does the client automatically update or do I need to deploy the newer version to each client? I noticed that the previous admin had downloaded the agent for each site and put it in a common share. Then he created a GPO for each site to deploy the agent. Should I update the MSI for each site? Thanks, Liam
Can Desktop Central agent send inventory at login?
We are just getting our system set up, and I can't seem to find a way to get the agent to send an inventory when the user logs in. I can schedule an inventory, but all of our other tools, including Asset Explorer, send an inventory each time the user logs in if there is a change in the data. I cannot find any way to accomplish this with the Desktop Central client. Thanks! Dave

Hi, Is there an option for the desktop central agent to protect uninstall by providing password even if running the vbs script that uninstalls the agent, sometimes some local administrators are using the uninstall script to uninstall the agent and this is an unacceptable way.

Hi everybody. I'm in trouble with Remote Control java plugin: connection to a Windows desktop from a Linux machine is ok, but from a Windows machine the applet hang and doesn't let me to connect. Patch Management Improvement
Hello, Can it be made possible to select only "Security Updates" to be downloaded and installed. At the moment Desktop Central requires a "severity" to be selected as well. This will cause issues with the applications running on our servers.
windows 8 crashing
We have a windows 8 machine which frequently crashes beyond repair. Only a fresh install is possible. Once the system is rebuilt and put on the network, the DTcentral client gets installed via GPO. It crashes again. There is a error at event viewer as Unable to rotate the log files in Desktop Central Secure USB Collection. Anyone come across this ?
Stagger Inventory Scan
Is there a way to stagger the inventory scan so that it occurs at different intervals on different OUs or groups? This would be beneficial to us because some of our machines are virtual and sharing processing power.

Hi, We are having a strange issue, where for quite a few software procucts, multipl entrys will be generated in the software inventory for the same versions of the same software. For instance i will see "SoftwareName" detected on most machines, but then the same software will be detected as "SoftwareName [Enterprise Edition]" and "SoftwareName [Express Edition]. This is three entrys for the same software. If i investigate the user machines, i see no reference in add/remove programs to Express

Has anyone configured the use of DirectAccess with Desktop Central? My DA clients are able to contact the DC server, but I am not able to start remote sessions on demand from the DC server to the DA clients when off-net.
Better alerting.
I would like to better monitor my network with Desktop Central. I have searched today and I am unable to find how I can get desktop central to send me an alert if a computer has been off-line more than a specified time. I did see the Power Management stuff but cannot get it to report what I am needing. Also I noticed that I am getting alerts such as when the Distribution has stopped but it will not send an alert to me or I can not customize it the way I need. If I am overlooking any of this please

If we have computers to be patched and a user has switched them off, it would be good to have the option of waking the computers up before Scan systems, download and deploy missing patches. It would be very useful for us if we could interrogate the device to get its current location/last known location - if it could then show it on a google map then even better, alternatively an api call to interrogate and return lat/long so we could then plot on goggle map. Using computer configuration - Shortcut
I am testing this configuration to place an icon on the desktop of all users for all computers in our domain. I've specified the target application both manually as well as clicking the browse button and navigating to it but it places a blank icon on the desktop that just points to the C:\ drive. I've also included the Start in Folder to no avail. The shortcut should point to a application on a network drive. Is this a known bug or am I not doing something right? We're on build 80268.

File Copy user variables
We're trying to setup a job to copy Microsoft office template files to C:/Users/userid/appdata/roaming/Microsoft/tempates and other similar folders. The default variable of "$userappdata" appears to go to Documents and Settings. With Windows 7 (and later) this doesn't work since the path is to "Users". I'm assuming this is the issue since the file copy isn't working. Is this a compatibility issue or is there a different variable or is there another way of doing this? Thanks
