Script copying to %localAppData% does not copy to correct directory
Hi, I have a custom script that copies file from a network share to the %LocalAppData% directory of the logged in user. When I deploy through Desktop Central instead of copying to %localAppDat% or c:\users\xxx\appdata\local\yyy it copies to C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\yyy Is there anyway to make the script execute as the local logged in user instead of the system user
Self Service Portal preferences
Hello, I am super-happy to see the "Self Service Portal" beeing implemented in the newest build! :) Unfortunately I haven't found a setting to disable the Desktop Icon for SSP, which gets generated with the client agent update. I would like to check the new feature before I publish the feature to all users and I want to prevent the user from clicking into ssp as long as I haven't published the feature officially. Is there a setting to prevent the desktopn shortcut from bein installed? I have created
Uninstall Office 2007
Has anyone used offscrub07.vbs to uninstall Office 2007 from Desktop Central? If I run it local, it runs fine and does its job, if I push it with Desktop Central I get a error not enough perms to access registry..... Any ideas?
Office 2010 package
I am trying to create a office 2010 package I have created a .msp file by following the documentation on how to create this package. Under the part adding the package in Desktop Central it says Specify the Preinstalltion script as : 7za.exe x-y "Office2010Pro.7z". I am unsure where do I specify this this script. I tried it under pre deployment activities but got an error saying that it couldn't find the script.

Hello @ all, I stumbled across a problem when I wanted to add licensing information to DesktopCentral: For Example: Adobe Creative Cloud. There are subscriptions for single products, i.e. Photoshop, and then there are subs for the whole suite (all products). Let's say I have 15 subscriptions. 5x Photoshop & 5x AfterEffects & 5x whole suite. So as far as I see now, I have to add licensing information for every single Adobe Cloud product? Which means for example: Photoshot: 5 single licenses + 5 licenses
help importing CSV file (asset import wizard)
I have a CSV file with just server names. The file is formatted is such: server1,server2,server3,server4 When I load the CSV file, I'm required to use the drop-down menu to pick a column for workstation name and model. First - I thought CSV files don't have columns...they are just text (left to right) separated by a comma. So, how can I have a header for workstation name and model?? DC Shortcut, "Icon File"
We are trying to learn how to use the "Icon File" feature of the Configuration / shortcut creation. Our customer is requiring a specific icon to be displayed on shortcut creation. The help documentation indicates to "browse and choose" an icon file, but this is not possible. How can we use this "Icon File" field to upload and display a specific icon for the newly created shortcut?
MYSQL database filling up hard drive
We are having an issue with Desktop Central filling up the D: drive. After investigating, we found that the ibdata1 file is 30.5 GB and growing. Is there a way to either trim this database down, or slow down it's growth? We have patch management and AD reporting turned on. Thanks, Dave
Cannot add Powershell script to the repository
I am trying to add a powershell script to the repository with the .ps1 extension which it says is supported. In the add script to repository menu the only boxes I get are script name and description. When I try to browse to the network share, it will not see the script. If i try to manual add the FQDN, it says it is not a valid script name, "\\SERVER\Scripts\Autodesk Inventor2014-64.ps1" Thanks, -Ben

Package deploy issue.
I created a software deploy package to install a simple .exe application. The deploy did complete successfully but the configuration status still says "ready to execute". I verified the program was installed on the destination computer. How can I fix this? I need to see the status so I can monitor the push to over a 1000 computers. I have made other packages that install and report back correctly.

On the MDM Location Data screen highlight if the device has not signed it's location in a long time
Hi, The new Location Data view you recently added to MDM is great however it would be great if devices that that had not synced their location in a long period of time were highlighted. For example in the screenshot below I have two Apple devices, one last shared its location 2 mins ago and the over was over 30 days ago. You can click on them to get the data but something like changing the background colour of the icon would be good. Thanks

Slow response when deploying software
Once I have updated Desktop Central to the latest Build, do I have to do anything with the client machines? When I ran the Scan Systems option under Patch Management, it found the client was out of date on all the machines, but has since updated them automatically. The reason for the question is I have tried pushing software out to a couple of machines since the upgrade and whereas before it would be near enough instant (using Deploy Immediately) it seems to stay on 'Status: Ready to Execute' even

I have updated my automatic patch deployment jobs to run separately for my remote office sites. I have noticed for the last week that my exclusions are showing as failures. I exclude the servers and update those manually at least for now.Why do they show as failed instead of not applicable. Ed
Forcing Mac Agent to contact server
Is there any way to initiate communications to either the distribution server or the primary server, using the command line on a Mac? Recently we ran into an issue where we needed to push something out via DesktopCentral immediately (remote script to update a standardized password), and saw that many of the computers are online, but were never pushed the script. Incidentally we noticed that the computers were listed in the incorrect Remote Office, which we've usually seen automatically updated
Patch Tuesday
When should i be seeing patches available in the patch DataBase? In EST please. it just seems that the patches released by MS dont show up in our DB until mid morning on the Wed after after Patch Tue. We try to be as close to bleeding edge as possible for our dev environment and are having some issues with our timing. thanks!!

pc outside of network failed to scan due to Error says distribution server not reachable
Computer is not being scanned during scheduled scan. Error says distribution server not reachable. This computer location is outside our network and it is in default remote office group that is set for direct communication. computer also was not patched during scheduled deployment.
Procedure to Uninstall MDM Andriod Client?
What is the procedure to uninstall the MDM client from an Android phone? The user put in a wrong port during the install and the device is not enrolling. Reinstall doesn't work. I'd like to totally uninstall the client and start fresh.

Patch Tuesday Office Update Error
I am seeing a lot of machines report failure for Patch ID 102090 MSWU-1587 Remarks OfficeUpdateError:Patch already installed. Also the same problem with Patch ID 102091 Bulletin ID MSWU -1587 Remarks OfficeUpdateError:No product installed for the contained patch. I thought if the patch didn't apply then it would not try to install or if it was already installed it would not try to install. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Ed
Configuration error
Hi, I'm trying to deploy a simple configuration - one that has worked before - just with different targets. It's a basic file copy configuration copying about 4 files. It is saying failed - error while copying files: the process is not in background processing mode. Any ideas as I haven't seen this one before? Thanks Eddy

I wish to create a report on anyone with local administration rights. I can do this using the 'Local Group Members' report but I wish to exclude such members as Administrator from the report. I imagine this could be done using the custom report but I'm not sure of the field names etc. Can anyone assist?

Roaming users maximum
Hey all, We have about 30 users (sales, marketing) who rarely are in the office where our server is. There is the option to configure roaming users to directly communicate to the server when outside our network, in the documentation it recommends doing this for no more than 10 users for bandwidth related issues. What's the recommended course of action for a situation like this? The important thing for us would be to let our technicians remote into their machines for support when needed.
Upgraded to 9.1.0. SP72 from 9.1.0 SP58 but now service won't start
Hello, I'm pretty new to Manage Engine. I applied the patch from 9.1.0.?? to 9.1.0 SP 58 and things went well. So this time I applied the Service Patch from 9.1.0 SP 58 to 9.1.0 SP72 and the service won't start. I have rebooted several times. I have googled the problem and looked through this forum. Haven't seen anything that was super helpful or worked. Any ideas would be welcome. BTW, System is running Windows 2012R2, 12GB memory installed on c:\ManageEngine\DesktopCentral Thanks for helping

I have setup a Remote Office called "External Connectivity" for all off-LAN computers to connect through a DS in the DMZ. Hello there. I started making a package to remove LogMeIn. The package was rolled out via a GPO for some years ago. I try to create a script via Desktop Central that makes the Uninstall process go smoth. It's setup as an "silently uninstall" and the user does not have to do anything. When I run the .cmd file locally, it removes the LogMeIn without problems. But as soon as I deploy via Desktop Central, i get loads of errors, among other the shortcut in start is not removed, all the records in registry

I tried to push the agent from the Distribution Server which comes back as successful but the agent never installs. Is the Desktop Central server supported on Server 2012 (2012 R2?). If so which Edition? What about the Distribution Server?

Hi, I have Desktop Central Server version 9.0.1.43 and ManageEngine MDM version 9.1.25.S installed on android phones. Now I faced with problem during associating profiles with these phones.
