Some clients will not sync on desktop central
I am new to using desktop central. My first device was a samsung device and it enrolled and synced properly. Profile was loaded along with App. We then loaded a second device. It enrolled but will not sync the profile or load the App. HIt was a device made by someone called NUVISION. We then loaded the ME app into a third unit (ACER). It enrolled properly but still exhibited the same symptoms as the previous unit. It would enroll but will not sync the profile and App. A ticket was opened with
Desktop Central MSP (92082) and multiple computers sharing the same name
How Desktop Central reacts when there are multiple computers sharing the same name under same customer? Sometimes we have a situation where computer will be replaced and it will use the same name as the old computer. Both are having DC agent online at the same time for some time. We have seen a situation with older versions of DC MSP where this will mess up inventory data, remote connections etc. Removal also causes both agents to stop working.
Cannot delete old software packages
Error message is: Package cannot be deleted. It is used in the following configuration : "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" Problem is that we cannot find this "XXXXXXXXXXXX" configuration anywhere anymore and it's still preventing us from deleting some old software packages: User who originally created this configuration is already deleted from Desktop Central. How we can clean this "ghost configuration" from our Desktop Central database so we can clean old software packages? Product: ManageEngine Desktop Central
MSU Deployment
So I did the usual patch Tuesday (Aug 9) get them out there and came across something yesterday (Sep 8th) KB3177725 is not perfect, it breaks multi document printing (released Aug 9th) KB3187022 fixes the usual MS screw ups (released Aug 23rd) Oh lucky me, the fix is an MSU not an MSI, so now I have to go around and manually patch 60+ workstations Can we not have a tutorial on how we can deploy MSU's through the DC / Software Deployment ??? Has anyone seen any inconsistency with Desktop Central Patch scans for Microsoft Updates. My Vulnerability scanner indicates patches needed, Microsoft Security Baseline Analyzer indicates patches needed, checking for Windows Updates from Microsoft indicates patches needed, but yet Desktop Central Indicates Patches not needed. Hi all, Does anyone know if there's a way to find out what version/build of Windows is installed on the clients? At the moment it just shows as Windows 10 Professional Edition (x64), without build numbers. The same with Windows 7. Thanks all!

Impact of deleting a unique static group
Good morning, Wanting to modify some custom groups, I hit the delete button for a unique static group but was then presented with an impact window stating "Packages that are published will be revoked". Can anyone tell me what this will have as exact impact? Will it just remove packages from the Self-Service Portal that are published for this group or will it actually uninstall software packages that were deployed with this unique static group as target? Installing Desktop Central 9 SP2 stuck at 50% of upgrading PostgreSQL from 9.2.9 to 9.4.4
I am installing Desktop Central 9 SP2 (upgrading from 9.1.113 to 9.2.0). It is stuck upgrading PostgreSQL from 9.2.9 to 9.4.4 at 50% completed. It has been at 50% completed for over 6 hours. When hovering the mouse over the Installation Status window, the mouse pointer spins. The system is using almost no CPU activity and more than half the physical memory is available. I see no dialog windows waiting for input (I moved the Installation Wizard window to see if there was a dialog window behind

Does anyone know how I can manually trigger a Desktop Central Asset Inventory from a system without using Desktop Central Asset Scan? I have developed a way to detect if systems in my Network have not been Asset Scanned by querying the file date of: c:\Program Files (x86)\DesktopCentral_Agent\Logs\devicescanaccess.log This would give me a quick indication of systems that are just being connected back to the Network

SOM Summary Removed Computers
I noticed that when ever we have removed a computer from the SOM that unless the computer is also removed the Active Directory the SOM Summary page does not remove the computers from the removed computers dashboard list. Is there anyway of making it so that it only stays on this list for a certain amount time after being removed?
Configured Ports
I am running Service Desk and Desktop Central on the same Server. I have the following ports configured: Desktop Central 8020 and 8383 Service Desk 8443 When I start Desktop Central up first I can't start SErvice Desk as Desktop Central takes port 8443 If I start Service Desk first then Desktop central taskes port 8383 I have also noticed when I do a NETSTAT /o that Desktop Central listense on port 8019 and no 8020 but you can connect to it using 8020 CONFUSED! We have numerous scheduled patch deployment jobs that are executed nightly with notifications generated for each task. The tasks are configured to address specific groups of machines. We would like to be able to modify the subject line of the notification email that's generated when the task completes so our technicians have an idea of which group of servers the notification addresses. Hi there I got some need where I could use Custom Group, but.. Can't understand functionality of Custom Group. For example - Create Group with machines where Skype 6.x Installed (Software Name = "Skype 6") but I can't see this group when try to create deployment Our build 92082, previously we used Custom group to export lists and copy/paste them to targets but now it's impossible to paste many machines. Handing of Missed Deployment while using APD
recently we started testing Desktop Central to replace our patch deployment solution (WSUS junk) and after setting up 2 groups (Monday and Friday) for nightly updates I've seen that 2 people whose PC's were out of the building (laptops) both have missed deployment schedule. Currently we are testing with Monday 00-06am and Friday 00-06am deployment policy. We have daily scan/download policy to make sure all patches are available and deployed. What is the recommended handling or configuring deployment

Configuration Status Updates Not working - Build 92095
I'm having an issue with configuration status updates not changing. Everything seems to be working with the exception of the config update status. All clients show the same behavior. Select deploy all missing patches (scheduled or immediate) Client receives the task, install the patches, reboots if specified Configuration always shows ready to apply Software deployment configuration status updates correctly. Self service portal application "run as"
We are running into an issue publishing eQUEST application via the self service portal, the application installs itself but it does not get initialized properly. The software support tech said the package needs to have the user logged in and to use the "run as administrator" option to install properly. Is this possible when launching an install from the self service portal?

Security Update for .NET Framework not showed
We 'have 6 MS windows 2012 servers with any version of .net framework. Till last July we found any security update for any .net version listed into missing patches. Now even if Microsoft released new security update (MS16-091) on all server not .net fix is listed, while MS MBSA and Windows Update show it as required. I tried to force DB refresh, inventory and scan all systems but nothing changed. Do any one have same issue ?
The version of Chrome reported by the software scans does not match the version installed
We have a few computers where the version of Chrome browser being reported does not match the actual version installed. However if we see what patches have been installed, the report shows that Chrome has been patched to the actual version installed. Is this a normal behavior? Thanks.
Patch Deployment of All Highly Vulnerable Systems?
It use to be if you created a patch deployment of systems that didn't have identical patch needs you would receive a warning message stating you are about to push patches to a system that may not need it. Such as mixing 32 bit systems with 64 bit systems. I notice ManageEngine no longer gives this warning message does this mean it's been fixed so all highly vulnerable systems can be deployed at once?
