File/Folder Report (?)
Hello @all, I am wondering if there is any possibility to check all systems/certain systems for the existence of a specific file or folder? I could have needed such a feature a few times by now. As far as I see the reports only access already "collected" data (information about computers and software)? So asking to collect completely new information the reports cannot help..(?) Scope of Management - Add Computers option does nothing and won't let me add computers.
When I am in Scope of Management and I click on Add Computers the Add Computers page comes up. I click on Select Computers for my domain. The Select Computers dialog box opens and when I navigate to the computer I want to add I check the box. When I click ok at the bottom to add the computer it does nothing. I tried to add the name to the Selected Computers option at the bottom and it does nothing either. Any help would be much appreciated. Ed
Workstations with error "Asset Scanning is locked" on the Computer Audit Summary section on the Inventory Tab
Good Afternoon, I recently fixed about 7 machines that were showing in the Computer Audit Summary Failed section with error Asset Scanning is Locked on the Inventory tab. I used the instructions from the KB article and so far only 1 machine would not work. I did a wipe and reload on the machine which seems to have solved the problem. Since then I have done about 5 more and then just last week I did about another 5 and I was down to 1 machine and now I am back up to about 5 again. I am not sure what
Remote Control does not work on large displays
I have had problems remoting into computers with large displays. The issue arises if any user has the screen size set to "larger 150%". It also arises if the users resolution is WQHD, 2560 x 1440. That is the only resolution that I have been able to try above 1920 x 1080. As we are deploying more laptops with WQHD, 2560 x 1440 resolution and many users use the larger 150% size in order to see the screen clearly, this is becoming problem for us. Down Machines in DTC
I applied the 9.1.84 update on Monday 11/16/2015 of last week to my DTC server. After the update I have a great number of my machines reporting as down in DTC. Also what is the acceptable time frame for machines to update their software I have a couple dozen that are alive and on the network that have yet to update. I have bounced the machine that DTC is living on in an attempt to force the machines to reestablish connection to DTC. I can ping the machines just fine and when I log onto the machines

Telecommuting staff monitoring and services with DC professional
What is the best way or architectures to support our telecommuting staff? Do we need a distribution server? or can direct connect (https) handle 150 plus users that are remote? I need the same functionality for the remote users that I have with the LAN users. Is the WAN client available with the professional version or will we need to upgrade? I would like to hear/ see how other cutomers' have this configured.
Rebuilt Server (new hardware) Seen as "down" in DTC
We had a motherboard, (includes NIC-macs), harddrives replaced on a server, and while active directory is happy with this server and its complex software installations. Desktop central agent is not. It was showing as "down" so I reinstalled the agent, and that completed quickly and still showed as down. So I'm attempting to uninstall the agent, and here's where I see it just hanging. I expect removing it from DTC and readding it, might be the way to go. Just curious what DTC might be looking

web interface not reachable after adding SSL
Hi, After we activate and installe the SSL certificates in the settings of Desktop Central the page will not load on port 8120 (http) or 8122 (https). The service is running at both ports. Even when we change the ports we still have this problem (we also try to login on the server it selves/so no firewall problem) Is there a solution to remote/change the settings off SSL certificates? It's installed on Microsoft 2008 server, iis 7.5 Or an otherway or solution to fix this so we can login to Desktop

Good Morning, When trying to access a few computers with the remote control over the WAN, I am receiving error message:Remote Control Port is not reachable from the client computer. Patch Failure Stops Patching Process
I have noticed that when we deploy automatic patches, that when a patch in a deployment fails on a server, then the entire patch sequence for the server stops. All of the other patches are not deployed. Is there a setting that needs to be set in order for the remaining patches to deploy. This is causing issues with our compliance model and creates a situation where we have to manually go back and verify patch completion and redeploy manually. Thanks

Hello I would like a deployment policy that reboots only if no user is signed on. I thought that option was already available in fact, but not seeing it. Hi, in my company a need to have one configuration based per user and comp. I don't wish to have two configuration one per user user based one for computer becouse if something have to stop how it will impact in two configuration. Is it possible when somebody's usb is blocked and when he put USB stick in pc he got a pop up message "You are not allowed to have .... contact please..." Desktop Central remote control help
I am trying to use the remote control component in Desktop Central. When I click to start the agent, a new window pops up saying "Please wait...Establishing remote control connection on -"computer name". After this nothing happens. The screen just keeps saying that it is establishing the connection. I tried accessing several computer from my machine with the same results. It used to work on Windows 7 but I recently installed Windows 10. Has not worked since. I am using Google chrome version 46.0.2490.86

"Software Uninstall Successfully" hangs
I am evaluating Desktop Central 9 and did couple of regular tasks including software uninstallation. I tried to uninstall "Adobe Reader 7.0.8" from 5 machines and after a long time now status is still showing "Uninstall Initiated Successfully". I re-scanned them and Adobe Reader is still there. Any idea what it might be or what I did wrong?
Remote User Self Install
I need a way to allow remote users to download the necessary files and self install the Desktop Central Agent Can someone outline the nest practices for me? I realize that I can park the ZIP file out there for folks to download but it would be nice to be able to just distribute an MSI. Thanks, Brandon

Desktop Central - Managed Services??
Hello all, I hope this isn't a dumb question, but is it possible to use ManageEngine Desktop Central to manage Windows Updates and App updates and Software Deployment on remote computers (not on the same LAN as the admin console)? I don't know anything about Desktop Central at all. I handle maintenance for 5 small businesses (Windows Updates, Server Updates, Antivirus Updates etc), each with about 10 computers. It's quite time consuming to stay on top of Microsoft Updates and Third Party App updates.
Using tray icon to send help desk emails
I can send help desk tickets with the tray icon when I am logged in the pc. How do I setup this feature for everyone? It fails when anyone else tries to use it when they are logged on. I am sure this is simple but not sure why it only works for me. Thanks, Marc
Network Adapter Information
Want to know if it is possible to view the mac address of the Wireless network adapter in Desktop Central? We have got the agent installed and the inventory details pulled into DC, but when we drill into the system the only thing we see is the Ethernet adapter details and no Wireless adapter details.
Counting for Microsoft Contract
I am in the process of counting users and devices for a Microsoft contract order. Is there any guidance on how to best use Desktop Central to assist on counting? Block Executable - Upload CSV file of known bad HASH

Security & I had this brilliant idea of uploading a CSV file of all known bad executable HASH values. Known Virus, Malware, Cryptos, ect. ect. Sadly the only way to block a hash is to upload the actual .exe. Would it be possible in the future you could add this feature?

Force Reboot after deploying patches
Hello all, We've recently begun to patch our Windows environment after a half year hiatus. I've noticed that a many computers are stuck at the "Retry in Progress" status and hanging on the last patch (out of 70). We began patching around October 26, and the patch configuration still shows "Retry in Progress" on those same machines. Has anyone else experienced this issue and come up with a solution? Script copying to %localAppData% does not copy to correct directory
Hi, I have a custom script that copies file from a network share to the %LocalAppData% directory of the logged in user. When I deploy through Desktop Central instead of copying to %localAppDat% or c:\users\xxx\appdata\local\yyy it copies to C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\yyy Is there anyway to make the script execute as the local logged in user instead of the system user

Hello, I am super-happy to see the "Self Service Portal" beeing implemented in the newest build! :) Unfortunately I haven't found a setting to disable the Desktop Icon for SSP, which gets generated with the client agent update. Has anyone used offscrub07.vbs to uninstall Office 2007 from Desktop Central? If I run it local, it runs fine and does its job, if I push it with Desktop Central I get a error not enough perms to access registry..... Any ideas?

Office 2010 package
I am trying to create a office 2010 package I have created a .msp file by following the documentation on how to create this package. Under the part adding the package in Desktop Central it says Specify the Preinstalltion script as : 7za.exe x-y "Office2010Pro.7z". I am unsure where do I specify this this script. I tried it under pre deployment activities but got an error saying that it couldn't find the script.
ME MDM app Distribution for Windows Phones
Hi, I have about a hundred Windows mobile phones already enrolled of Desktop Central MDM. I am trying to now distribute the ME MDM app to them, I have created the AET certificate and downloaded and signed the ME MDM app. I want the distribution to be as silent as possible for the users, In the ME MDM App Distribution window, would selecting "Install Automatically" result in a silent install and not require any user intervention? Hello @ all, I stumbled across a problem when I wanted to add licensing information to DesktopCentral: For Example: Adobe Creative Cloud. There are subscriptions for single products, i.e. Photoshop, and then there are subs for the whole suite (all products). Let's say I have 15 subscriptions. 5x Photoshop & 5x AfterEffects & 5x whole suite. So as far as I see now, I have to add licensing information for every single Adobe Cloud product? Which means for example: Photoshot: 5 single licenses + 5 licenses
