Office 2013 does not install on client comptuer
I am attempting to install Office 2013 on a client computer. I've followed the deployment guidelines from: https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/deploy-ms-office-2013-how-to.html?dci-sdthow I've checked on the test Windows 7 computer and in Task Manager, it shows the process "setup.exe" started and the process points to the correct share and file to run but the setup.exe never is executed. I've let it sit overnight and it just went into "retry in progress" status.
Question about building a package
I was tasked with upgrading computers with a new version of software. What I would like to do is add a feature to my package that will send a notification to the users, asking them to "click OK" to start the installation, as well as give them the option to "postpone" the install a few number of times. Is this possible using Desktop Central? Darren

Most of our clients are Windows 7 64-bit SP1 machines.

Only Allowing the Self Service Portal Shortcut to Certain Users
Hi, I would like to start using the self service portal for some of the machines that we manage, but I only want the shortcut to show up on certain users machines. We have remote sites that we manage that won't need this and in the interest of DC being silent, we have chosen not to have the tray icon. There seems to only be a show/don't show on the options for the self service portal link, is there a way to specify this to be shown to only certain groups of users? Or alternatively, can I manually

Software Deployment Details...
Hi, my understanding is that during software deployments if run normally (without deploy immediately) will run when the policy window is available, the schedule window is availabe and the target is online. I believe when the target agent checks back to the core server on the 90 minute cycle, if the target is part of a configuration, at that point it will retrieve the XML configuration file and start the deployment. Please correct me if im wrong up until this point. Is there any prevention intelligence

allow 2 different Admin accounts for Software deployment
Due to regulatory requirements we have to keep our server admins separate from our workstation admins. They do not have for example access to each others servers/computers. The domain admins only have access to the servers while the workstation admins have access to do admin tasks to the client workstations. To utilize deployment we need to have the ability to have 2 separate installation admin accounts that will allow us to package the software's with the appropriate admin account. As of now
HTTP Deployment Using Zip Files Does Not Work
Wondering if anyone out there has encountered this issue and found a solution. When I try to deploy an application that has been zipped, it fails every time and on every client. If I remove the setup executable from the zip file and deploy it then it works just fine. During the deployment I can see that the executable is properly unzipped but then it never installs the application. When looking in the dcsoftwaredeployment.log file on the client computer I see the following error message after the
Software Licensing/Metering
I'm working to set up a software license repository to work with our software metering through Desktop Central. I can create software metering rules based on the already-established software packages, but is there a way to group existing packages together. For example, I purchase licensing for MS Office 2016 Standard that includes licenses for several different executables (i.e. winword.exe). I need to track these as a license bundle that audits against the individual program components - how

o365 deployment problems
I'm referencing this page to try and install o365 remotely https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/deploy-ms-office-2016-how-to.html However, the extract contents of .exe step doesn't actually grab install files, it extracts a small downloader instead. Are there any updated instructions on how to do this?

forced reboot being skipped on deployments
I've created a configuration for deployment using a policy that has a reboot policy to force reboot (both including and excluding servers) and even though I get successful deployments the computers aren't being forced to reboot. I've checked the dcconfigaccess.log and I see that the ENDTIME REBOOT_POLICY for the configuration shows DC_FORCE_REBOOT(skppd). I'm assuming this means the reboot was skipped. How can it be skipped if the reboot is forced ? Am I missing something here ?
Software Deployment fails on 32-bit comptuers
We have recently begun deploying Office 365 to the departments within our company. We are doing it one department at a time so that we can tackle challenges as the come along. Self Service Portal - Registry Key not Importing
Hi all, I have a deployment package that works just fine when pushed out from DC's webpage (using Run As). One of the post activities is to import a registry file using a unc path. This work. However, when a user run the install from self service portal, it doesn't work. Software does get installed however. The user running the install has full admin rights to their machine, and as well, can browse the UNC path without issue. Any suggestions?
Installing IBM Rational DOORS
Hi all, According to IBM's website, installing DOORS silently requires this long statement: setup.exe /v"/l*v \"C:\doors_install.log\" /qn INSTALLDIR=\"C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DOORS\" CLIENTDATA=\"12348@servername\" LAPAGREE=\"Yes\" TLLICENSESERVER=\"27000@servername\" I don't think DC is interpreting this properly as when I go to push it out, a user will get a dialog box telling them that the switches are invalid. I can however install this locally on a users machine no problem. Any suggestions?

Is it possible: One Deployment for Office Suite and Office 365?
Hello, our company will be using Office 2016 in two ways of licensing: 25Users will get Office 2016 Suite and 25 users will get an Office 365 Account incl. right for desktop app use. The Problem is: When I login with my account the activation menu says, that only Office 365 (E3) is licensed, there is no license
