Multiple Software Repositorys (remote locations)
Hello Manage Engine community, We have several offices with each office having their own software repository server. When deploying packages we copy each package on their local server so when our users need software the install does not take long. This works well when installing stuff manually, we remote into a remote users machine and install packages fine. However, now we are doing a silent install using manage engine. When we deploy the packages on our local office (ny) the packages install
Disable notification
When configuring software deployment with setting "Allow User to interact with the Installation/Uninstallation Window." following message is always displayed to user. Can this be prevented? We are using our own wrapper scripts to install software to computers that is displaying notifications to user and we dont want any extra popups.

Package Install
I am trying to install a package to a computer. The .MSI file I have is completely unattended and silent. I double click my .MSI file and it installs the program silently. Being new to Desktop Central, I cannot seem to install it. If I don't enter any properties for the MSI file, it only installs the install file, and not the program. How can I use Desktop Central to install my .MSI file, without using any properties? The .MSI file is completely hands free. Darren
Self-Service Portal not offering package to machine in custom group
Hello. I have a machine that is placed in a Dynamic Custom Group, I can verify that it is in fact in that group and persists through an inventory scan, as it should. The machine also appears under the self-service portal > (custom group) > computers tab. However the package associated with that group does not appear on the self-service portal. I have tried refreshing the portal with the green icon, killing the dcagenttrayicon.exe process and re-launching it, and restarting the machine. Any help is
Desktop Central Software Deployment False Positives
This issue is rather perplexing. I opened a ticket with support but it is not going anywhere yet. So here is what happened. I made a custom Software deployment package for Server based Webroot. The preinstalled one is not the correct version or type. I made it using the exe command option. Before things get started about my deployment options. I know the options I chose works. I know that because I did test deployments and it worked. When I started to deploy in prod I deployed to 90 servers. Of those
Software deployment by machine manufacturer

For the purposes of this thread let's use the Lenovo hardware as the example. When a new Lenovo machine is added to ME DC MSP I need to install a program named Lenovo System Update. I created a software package for Lenovo System Update and tested that it deploys successfully. I then added a few pre-deployment steps that are supposed

Skip install if version equal to or greater than - with one conditional statement
When I deploy software, say Google Chrome, I configure the package to abort if the software is already installed. The pre-install check looks like this... It would be great if ME DC had a combined condition for "equal to or greater than" so that I don't have to write two rules for each and every package. A single rule would look like - Google Chrome & ( Version>= 54.0 ) exists Thank you
Invalid command line argument when deploying custom msi
I am trying to deploy PDFill as a custom package. It successfully uninstalls the previous versions as described in the pre-deployment activity, however it will not install the new version. The custom package only has "/quiet" as an MSI property, but the log file shows different. Where are the extra arguments like ACTION=INSTALL coming from? Software install dependent on a configuration.
Hi everybody, My organization is changing Anti-Virus Vendors and we need to do the following. 1) Uninstall the current anti-virus Software. 2) Reboot 3) Install the new anti-virus software. 4) Reboot Because it's anti-virus software, I can't have any real break between when we uninstall the current software and install the new software. How to perform Reboots after SW Deployment
Hello, First: I am working with DesktopCentral for over one year by now, so I am not completely new. Still there are some point that do now work as I expect, so I would like to know, how to achieve the following two cases: How to tell the client to reboot, when the setup itself does not require this; I want to reboot the client anyway! 1. Prompt user to reboot after SW install I know I can set this in the "deployment policy": "Prompt for reboot" & let user skip the reboot. What I am looking for:
MSI Software Deployment
When i launch my MSI standalone, the package does its thing and then exits (0) When i launch my MSI via Software Deployment, using MSI, Desktop Central executes it and reports back a status successful before the package actually finishes. Managing Google Chrome
It's been decided that google chrome will not be allowed on our systems. Unfortunately a mixture of administrators and the ability to install it without administrative access has meant that we now have 314 instances of it on our network. Is there an easy way to manage this within Desktop Central as the 'Prohibited' doesn't seem to be able to manage it due to the nature on the none admin installs etc? Install Package
Being new to Desktop Central, I'm confused as to how to add a package to a specific computer in our domain. When it comes to adding the computer, it asks for the domain or local office, but I don't see where it specifies the actual computer to install the package on. Am I missing something? I have searched the Desktop Central website for a solution but have not found one. Darren

Self Service Portal Software Updates
Hello, I've been looking into using the self service portal for software updates. I've installed some software via the self service portal onto a test device. I have then updated that software deployment package to the latest version. Then when I refresh the portal on my test device I expect to see the "reinstall" button change to an "Update" button as the software package has been updated to the latest version, however this is not the case, as it still shows "ReInstall". Is there currently a way

User cancelled installation - deployment error
Hi, I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me. I’m trying to push down some software via Desktop Central onto a laptop but no matter what combination I try it keeps failing with "User cancelled the installation" I have tried pushing this via a computer target and also via a user target with using admin credentials and still this fails. No pop ups appear on the screen, I have run the software via CMD on the machine and this works with no issues. Yet via desktop central this doesn’t work using
Post-Deployment commands are not executed correctly when setup run as "System" user
Lately I have had huge troubles with post-deployment activities. I.E. I install Firefox: In the Post-Deployment I need a batch file to be executed with following content: xcopy "\\my-share\DCSWRepository\Firefox\Tools-Configs\Proxy\local-settings.js" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\" /C /H /Y /Z This command is not executed/the file is not copied to the client machine. When I open a CMD as administrator and then run the batchfile, there is no problem, the files are copied immediately!

Deployments using wrong deployment policy
Desktop Central MSP Build No:92082 When I deploy software to some customers I'm getting wrong deployment policy. Self service portal application "run as"
We are running into an issue publishing eQUEST application via the self service portal, the application installs itself but it does not get initialized properly. The software support tech said the package needs to have the user logged in and to use the "run as administrator" option to install properly. Is this possible when launching an install from the self service portal?

Installing packages from user group in self service is unreliable
I have mentioned this to support before, detailing how domain admins can't install packages from their usergroup in self-service. Recently I thought I had a good idea by adding a domain admin to the local admin group on the local machine. I thought that this for sure would allow me to install software as a user that had been specifically added to the local admin group. Well I was mistaken. I begin to wonder if this feature had ever worked. some good news however: My antivirus MSI (that I uploaded
Unified Agent software deployment
OK then. I created a package for a new software we are using for our laptops. It is called Bluecoat Unified Agent. I modified the MSI installer using InstEd. I tested the install on my PC (using the /quitet and /norestart) and it worked without showing anything on screen. I setup an install for this package on Desktop Central and attempted to install it on some of our laptop and I get "Fatal error during installation." on all of them. Any idea what could be causing this? I created 2 packages, one
File folder operation configuration needs "deployment settings" option
Really all configurations should have the deployment settings option available (example: custom scripts configurations need it too) We need to push a a file to a directory that wont exist until after our software deployment configuration runs with the deployments settings set between 12 - 3am Easy I thought.. I'll just set my file folder operation to run between 3 - 6am except I dont have the option to pick a deployment policy in the file folder operation configuration. That is really inconvenient!
