MSI package command switches
When you configure a new MSI deployment package, does Desktop Central automatically add any command switches? I am trying to add /quiet and /norestart and it says invalid command line argument.
Random/temporary SW install errors
Hi, I am using DTC for one year by now. I see some errors during software deployment which "do not make sence" - or I cannot understand why they happen: Errors like: Error occurred while fetching the package path url Unknown Error. Problem with installing agent with .bat file and self-service
build: 92071 after installing agent with .bat file I have a particular issue where self service wont work. here are my screenshots. The group is reading my windows 7 machine as VISTA? that would be incorrect. BUT... It is CORRECT in inventory... GroupWise 2014 MSI install with Transform File
I am attempting to create a software package for GroupWise 2014. I setup a MST file using the GWTuner utility and then created a package. I pointed to the MSI file (groupwise.msi) and then used the option for the MST file that I created created (groupwise.mst which is in the same folder). I am testing deploying the software to my laptop. Using the default options I sent the install to my laptop and the deployment comes up successful. No matter what it says, the program is not installed on my laptop
Error in SW template for Chrome 51 x64

I can deploy Internet Explorer 11 to computers that have IE8 or IE9 installed, but am receiving Unknown Error Code 40024 if the computer has IE10 installed. Any ideas?
I've used the templates for installing the prerequisite updates as well as the templates for deploying IE11, but it just isn't working. I've also tried removing the /passive switch from the template so it's just using /quiet /norestart and still no luck. Thanks, William
Deploy software to a custom group of computers
What is the best way to accomplish the following task in Desktop Central? I want to find all of the systems on our network that still have Internet Explorer 9 installed and update them to Internet Explorer 11. I know how to deploy software, but I don't know how to create a group of computers that contain a particular version of software and then deploy a new software package to that group. Removal of VNC Servers and Viewers
Hello, We have several different versions of VNC Server and VNC Viewer that we need to have removed from all computers in our environment. I know for sure there are both TightVNC and UltraVNC servers that make up the majority of our environment. Is there any surefire way to remove the servers silently using desktop central? The Software Templates options in the Software Deployment Tab is missing. Only the "Packages" option is available. Can someone please assist?

I can send a "execution status error" from scripts. ?? although deploy is correct if the script does not give me the result I want to be shown wrong "execution status".

Has anyone else seen horribly slow software deployments on DC Build 92038?
We previously pushed 100s of MB of software in 20 minutes or so on our ISP grade internet and Gb inside networks. On hotfix build 92038, software copies at around 1KB per second which is atrocious and renders the most important feature to us unusable. Has anyone else noticed this? It's not hard to monitor in the C:\Program Files (x86)\DesktopCentral_Agent\swrepository\1\swuploads folder. I can't locate any bottlenecks outside of the code, which obviously I have no visibility into. Previously,
Office 2013 Repair Script Needed
Hi, we have installed Office 2013 on around 250 machines, however it has left Office 2010 installed. I have run the script to uninstall Office 2010 but when trying to run Word 2013 I get: "We're sorry, but Word has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Would you like to us to repair now?" When clicking repair it will fix the problem, but I cannot find a script which I can push out via DC to repair after the uninstall of 2010. We are looking at upgrading all our machines to Windows 10, using the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 option. We have the file 'MediaCreationTool.exe' however I do not know if this would install like a normal software installation would. Has anyone tried this, and do you have any advice? Corrupt DWG files
Recently recovered thousands of DWG files on a hard drive with a corrupt partition, however, all the files recovered are not viewable or recoverable through autocad 2007. They files are 2004 dwg files. Is there any software available to repair DWG files that someone can refer me to?

Hi all, I've been tasked with deploying Internet Explorer 11 (32-bit) to my organization. We're using Windows 7 Professional (64-bit). The reason we're using a 32-bit browser is because many of our core applications require 32-bit IE (ridiculous, I know). I've used one of the pre-packaged templates, but each time I try to push it fails (unknown error code 40015). No biggie - we can also push the 64-bit (confirmed working). Hi, I have seen this more often recently: When a Mac Workstation hasn´t been started for a few days and is being started again, DC bombards me with literally hundreds of mails for uninstalled Software. A) the Software still remains where it was (e.g. Parallels Mounter v9.0) B) the Version of the Software has not changed (e.g. Parallels Mounter v9.0 is claimed to be uninstalled, however the same version from 2014 is still in it´s place) can you give me a hint as to what my configuration is doing wrong

Software failing to install
I am attempting to deploy some software out and I receive this message: Could not connect the share from the client computer : The specified network name is no longer available I am unsure of the problem. I was able to successfully deploy this same software a couple of weeks ago to another computer. The strange thing is it looks like part of the install occurred.
