corrupted rar file
i was extracting a rar file from dvd and suddenly everything stopped working, i took out the dvd and try to delete that file but not responding windows explorer appeared and desktop refreshes everytime
Installing/Upgrading AVG Business Edition
We are looking at upgrading our AVG Business to a new version. There is a script file and a .BAT file that the server creates with all the settings. I am having a problem running the .BAT in the Software Deployment screen. I am not sure how the .BAT files are run from Desktop Central, but the file calls the install and config file in the same folder as the .BAT. In another program we used to use to deploy software, all I had to do was set the /s /c arguments for cmd.exe that was run on the PC after
Remove Java Sponsor crapware when installing/updating Java
When using DC to push out Java JRE's, can we please add the "SPONSORS=0" option to both new package installs and the patch scan deployments? Deploy Package after Agent Install
Looking at setting up a package that would deploy to a PC after the agent has installed. It would be a "Welcome Package" once agent is installed the package would be deployed to the PC. Is this possible.
Problem with copied files (exe) - security warning
Hello @all when copying a exe-file like the new PuTTY.exe to our clients via DC, the users (and I) get a security warning like "The publisher could not be verified. Do you want to execute the Software?" I can press execute but I cannot remove the checkbox "Prompt before every startup" without administrative privileges (folder is in C:\Programfiles)! I already have added the DC Server to trusted Sites in Internet Explorer Security settings: "\\servername" Does anyone have a good solution for this

Uninstall Office 2007
Has anyone used offscrub07.vbs to uninstall Office 2007 from Desktop Central? If I run it local, it runs fine and does its job, if I push it with Desktop Central I get a error not enough perms to access registry..... Any ideas?
Office 2010 package
I am trying to create a office 2010 package I have created a .msp file by following the documentation on how to create this package. Under the part adding the package in Desktop Central it says Specify the Preinstalltion script as : 7za.exe x-y "Office2010Pro.7z". I am unsure where do I specify this this script. I tried it under pre deployment activities but got an error saying that it couldn't find the script.
Package deploy issue.
I created a software deploy package to install a simple .exe application. The deploy did complete successfully but the configuration status still says "ready to execute". I verified the program was installed on the destination computer. How can I fix this? I need to see the status so I can monitor the push to over a 1000 computers. I have made other packages that install and report back correctly.
Slow response when deploying software
Once I have updated Desktop Central to the latest Build, do I have to do anything with the client machines? When I ran the Scan Systems option under Patch Management, it found the client was out of date on all the machines, but has since updated them automatically. The reason for the question is I have tried pushing software out to a couple of machines since the upgrade and whereas before it would be near enough instant (using Deploy Immediately) it seems to stay on 'Status: Ready to Execute' even
No default to 'Define Target'

LogMeIn via Desktop Central
Hello there. I started making a package to remove LogMeIn. The package was rolled out via a GPO for some years ago. I try to create a script via Desktop Central that makes the Uninstall process go smoth. It's setup as an "silently uninstall" and the user does not have to do anything. When I run the .cmd file locally, it removes the LogMeIn without problems. But as soon as I deploy via Desktop Central, i get loads of errors, among other the shortcut in start is not removed, all the records in registry
Supported OS for Desktop Central Server and Distribution Server
Hi. My company just purchased Desktop Central MSP Edition and I'm trying to get it set up. Looked at the system requirements here: https://www.manageengine.com/desktop-management-msp/help/index.html but it doesn't mention anything after 2008 R2. Is the Desktop Central server supported on Server 2012 (2012 R2?). If so which Edition? What about the Distribution Server?

My question is if this package has been deployed to a device and that device is then wiped, when will DC check that device again and redeploy the package? Received the above error when trying to deploy Adobe CS6 to mac computers. I already customized the CS6 and make it a zip file but somehow cannot extract when deploying. Any suggestions?
Deploying a windows Hot Fix
I am trying to deploy a windows hot fix and running into some errors. Was hoping you might be able to tell me where i am going wrong. hot fix is KB973148 I downloaded and extracted the hot fix into a software package. Then i set up my deploy configuration And deployed immediately to one device. the job fails with a generic error code. We have deployed several hot fixes this way so not sure where i messed up or if there was a better way to deploy a hot fix. Sure wish i could do it in patching.
Adobe illustrator 9 error message
Illustartor 9 was working fine but after using a registry cleaner no longer loads. Receive error message PDF Poquito50iRelease.dll not a valid windows image.Reloaded the software from add and remove programs appears to load,have the correct regkey but still get that error message. Help!!

More than one repository
Hello, I am fairly new to Desktop Central. I have 2 domains and the agents are properly talking to them. I currently have a software repository working on one domain. I would like a separate one for the other. I see the option to pick the path but it doesn't seem like I can pick more than one. Could anyone guide me through the correct steps? Thanks
Forcing a re-attempt
Hi, I posted last week about trying to work out why my patches were not deploying, and had some amazing help which has since enabled me to progress with my testing. I now face another little issue, I have had a look through the Admin Guide and cannot see what I'm looking for (unless I've been really blind). I have deployed an install to around 150 machines, 19 are still 'Yet To Apply' and this was because they were switched off. Since then, 3 more machines have been turned on and are showing as online

Errors in Distribution Server Logs
Hello After upgrading to the latest version of DC (91042) I've seen this when looking at the "remote office" information: When I click on the "view" link I see this: I opened up the dsaccesslog.txt on the server, and for this distribution server, I'm seeing the error "DSERROR 10002" in the logs. For the other servers - which show "replication cycle completed successfully" in the web interface, I'm seeing a "DSERROR 10003" at every replication cycle. Can you tell me please - what are DSERROR 10002
Flash Uninstallation
With the recent findings on versions of flash before 18.0.203, we are starting to update all clients to this version. However, we are experiencing issues utilizing the uninstall function. Namely, it fails every time we try on older versions. Does anyone know the applicable switches to include in the uninstall command? Any insight into best practices to updating an application while removing older versions? Our biggest concerns are flash, java and Symantec endpoint protections. Thank you in advance.
Notify users on startup (SW deployment)
Hi folks, we just stumbled accross some difficulties while setting up our first configurations for software deployment: We would like to deploy software only on system start. That is because we have sales people, we do not want to disturb every 90minutes with updates (during meetings etc)... Push Skype for Business
Has anyone figured out how to push Skype for Business to off net desktops. We are on office365 and we lock down admin privileges. This has created an issue because End Users cannot click to load in the office365 portal without Admin privileges. Everyone tells us to use SCCM but we want to use Desktop Central to push it out and install just Skype for Business from Office 365 ProPlus . It will run along side of Lync 2010. Do Not reboot selected but after software deployment auto reboots happens anyway
Hi All in my deployment policy I selected the Do not reboot option, but after the software has been deployed the machine auto closes any open programs and reboots the machine automatically. anyone urgently able to help, This cant happen when I rollout a number of software items to 300 plus machines. The user needs to be prompted if ok to reboot or tell them the update will not work until a reboot happens. Regards Aron

Hi, I get this error when I try to install the Desktop Central Agent on a users machine. See the attached image for the error message. The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package. Agent Install XP
Hi, I'm having issues installing the desktop agent on windows XP machines. Every time I attempt to push the install through desktop central it returns an error "Unable to get the agent status. Operation timed out." If I try to install the agent locally on the machine I get an error 1603. I know on previous releases of dekstop central it has been a known issue installing on XP, however im running the latest build of desktop central. (build details below). Need to deploy Java 7u67 to many Win7 machines, it's old Java yes, but, it is the only one that functions correctly with the many multiple external java based applications our clients access. I know Desktop Central can deploy Java 7u67 with no problem, however I need to make multiple settings changes within Java Control Panel and the Registry as well. We recently got Adobe Acrobat DC Pro (v12) on our enterprise contract with Adobe. I have about 1400-2000 installed copies of Adobe Acrobat XI installed and I only want to push the new updated package to PC's that only have Adobe Acrobat XI. I have fumbled around Desktop Central for about 5-6 hours today and I haven't found a good solution for deploying this software.
