Software Deployment Details...

Hi,

my understanding is that during software deployments if run normally (without deploy immediately) will run when the policy window is available, the schedule window is availabe and the target is online.

I believe when the target agent checks back to the core server on the 90 minute cycle, if the target is part of a configuration, at that point it will retrieve the XML configuration file and start the deployment. Please correct me if im wrong up until this point.

Is there any prevention intelligence or what prevents the network from being flooded by a deployment

Use the following as an example. Say we have 2000 computers and 1000 of those computers hit the 90 minute cycle at the same time. Does DesktopCentral have intelligence built in so it wont deploy all 1000 packages at once ? Will it simply flood my network and bring it down or will it stagger the deployment ? What is the algorithm used or thought process behind that ?

Thanks,
David Banks
