Troubles with getting a configuration to install software on a 32-bit computer
We have recently begun deploying Office 365 to the departments within our company. We are doing it one department at a time so that we can tackle challenges as the come along. A couple of weeks ago we deployed it to one of our departments that ended up still having a 32-bit computer in use and even though Desktop Central showed that the configuration deployment was successful, it completely failed to install the program onto the computer. The reason Desktop Central showed that it was successful is because it did download the Office 365 msi to a folder within the Program Files folder, but the msi never launched. I've tried multiple different ways to deploy Office 365, including the way that you all suggest in the software deployment templates, but none of them are working on the 32-bit computers. The only way that we've been able to get Office 365 installed on the 32-bit computers is to run the setup.exe manually while logged into the computer. The msi that works great on the 64-bit computers was generated using the Office 365 ProPlus Toolkit that Microsoft recommends. All of the msi packages that we've generated are for the 32-bit version of Office 365, so it's not a compatibility issue. Other patches and 3rd party updates are installing fine on the 32-bit computers using Desktop Central and the custom script to uninstall Office 2007 even works. I'm at a loss and really need to get this resolved today so that I don't have to manually install Office 365 on a bunch of computers for another one of our departments tonight. Any suggestions or advice on things to check would be greatly appreciated.
