MS SQL Database Migration
Good Day, We are currently going through the process of migrating all of our SQL databases from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012, I cannot find documentation for moving our desktop central database over. Could someone please point me in the right direction for this information? Thank you.
Migrate DC build 91085 from 32-bit to 64-bit
Have a business need to migrate our DC instance from an old 32-bit server (Win 2k3) to 64-bit server (Win 2k8 R2 or higher). The documentation I found (https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/desktop-central-server-migration-how-to.html?dci) says to NOT migrate from 32 to 64. Is this still the case? Isn't there anything I can do to migrate the data over/restore the database on a new server? Thank you, Spence Lome
Desktop Central 9 and Kaspersky
Hi, we are evaluating Kaspersky Business Select. After AV-Client installation users report using outlook and especially public folders is very very slow. Agent Deployment via GPO Startup Script
Hi I'm having problems deploying the Desktop Central Agent via a GPO start up script. I have followed the instructions to the letter, but cannot understand why it isn't working. Re-adding machines from AD
I have noticed (and been informed by ManageEngine) that if you go to SoM and delete a machine, or if you have the settings set up to delete inactive machines after x days, you cannot re-add from AD, you have to do it manually. Is there a way to disable this, or do a 1-time sync to import? We often have temp users who use a machine for a few weeks, they then leave, the machine is collected and placed back in to storage until we get the next temp / contract worker, and it could be weeks before the
Desktop Central Forcing Windows 10 to reboot
Good Afternoon, Is anyone aware if this is a know issue? A couple of members of staff have said that since upgrading their machine to Windows 10, Windows Updates have been forcing themselves through (even though this never happened on Windows 7) and they are also getting a prompt after a Windows update has been applied (without their input) to sat their machine will restart in 15 minutes, with no option to postpone the restart. SMTP relay for office365 email alerts
Gday all, i have created an SMTP relay and included that IPV4 with the SPF so it allows from the sending IP so i can get my alerts from desktop central. The issue i have is, if i change the mailserver to the MX record of the new office365 and click test email on port 25 it works. If i also use authentication it works but i didnt want to have to rely on using smtp auth with TLS, hence the relay. Is there a way to force it to use the relay as it works but when i click save it says it cannot authenticate?

When managing licenses (under Inventory), what is the difference between a network installation and a managed installation ? We have both Windows 7 Professional (x64) and Windows 7 Professional (x32) installed on domained machines, but having added licenses for both, the 32-bit installations appear as managed, but not networked. Any help in understanding this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Its nice that Desktop Central 9 lets you know there is a system update or 'hotfix' available on the login page, but can't you add a place to get that download after login? Currently the login page does not display your current version, and I don't memorize my current build number. You already have a nice little build number link that pops up a display of information can't you include a link to whatever the newest hotfix is also?

I just migrated my Desktop Central Server over to a new server that I will will be moving over to our DMZ. Game plan is to end up patching machines that are not on our network using a Public IP. one of my servers disconnected from the central server and didn't get any updates, when I tried to install the agent again it asked to uninstall old agent and install it again. I have unchecked the all the options from the agent that would show a popup balloon.... but durring logon you get a single balloon that lets you know that DC agent has started.... is there a way to stop that balloon...
