DC Patching and MBSA reporting conflict
I have an issue where DC is reporting my workstation as being 100% healthy and no patches missing, but MBSA is showing 3 critical patches missing. I am currently testing this software and this issue is preventing me from making the purchase. May I get information for the following? 1. Does DC patching work and is it current with Microsoft patch schedules, etc.? 2. Why am I getting this conflict with the reports? 3. How accurate is DC patching of the Windows OS and related Microsoft applications?

What is this all about? I purchased the PRO version of DC when it was the best you could get... I purchased it with the promise that distributed Repository's would be available... and now that it's available I need to upgrade? is this what I can expect for future enhancements? is there going to be the Enterprise +, and the Enterprise Super + versions released once a new function is introduced into the application? Network share for Software Repository - Error
When trying to define a network share for my software repository i receive the following error when clicking the browse button. "A specified logon session does not exist. I may already have been terminated" has anyone had this erroe before and does anybody know what the fix would be? Thanks

Force reboot after patch deploy
I am having an issue with getting the desktops to reboot after a patch configuration deployment. I set the configuration to run off-hours when the users are not logged in to their desktops. The patches install fine and the computers all start to shutdown. However, the shutdown hangs until somone breaks out of the screensaver (.i.e. moves the mouse or presses a key). Then, the computer continues to shutdown and reboot. This happens on all of my Windows XP desktops and Windows 2003 servers. I
Agent failed due to duplicate name
I have a number of agents failing with the message "You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network." Then it tells me to rename the computer. The problem is, that there is not another computer with that name on the network. There is not a duplicate IP mapping or anything in the DNS. I am not sure where this is coming from. Any ideas? Configuration status report by computer.
Is there a way to generate a configuration report on what computers have sucessfully installed the sofware and which have failed or are still pending? My supervisor likes to get a status so he knows how the deployment jobs are coming. Thanks! Don
Agent version is not compatible
I an trialling the Desktop Central and I am getting the message Agent version is not compatible, whem I try to connect to a pc. I have already installed the agent on that pc but still no luck. Have I missed anything?

Hi, Is there any way to change the default reboot message when deploying patches. I seems a pain to have to change it evertime we roll out the patches. Question regarding deleting configurations
Is there an easy way to delete multiple "old" configurations that have already been executed or permanently suspended? To delete one, it takes anywhere from 30 seconds to over a minute before the screen refreshes and I can move on to the next one that needs to be deleted. I have lots of old configurations that I would like to delete, but don't have the time to allocate to deleting them all at one time. Currently, I'll delete a couple and then the next day delete a couple more, etc. Would it
Just Highly Vulnerable Patches?
Is there an easy way to push out patches that are needed to just the Highly Vulnerable computers only? I push out patches every week to all my computers and still there are always Highly Vulnerable Computers left over. I can never get 90 to 100 percent of my computers Healthy. Right now I still have 100 Highly Vulnerable computers out of the 500 that I push patches too. Jamie

Desktop Central Script Repository not saving
We have started using DC and when I add a custom script into the Script Repository under Admin, it loads the entry, but throws away the UNC path details. My path is \\hccstor3\software\Dist$\TRIMContext6r2_SP4_1226 and the script file is install.cmd. When I add the entry, the \\hccstor3\software\Dist$\TRIMContext6r2_SP4_1226 part is left off and only install.cmd remains. Hi Romanus, Could you explain to me how to deploy this patch "Windows-en-US-KB943729" to all the clients as I can not find the patch in the Patch Mgmt console. I would have thought that this patch was downloaded by Desktop Central, and already been deployed as an Informational Patch. Reboot after Patch Deployment
I have a scheduled scan and deploy job setup for patches. I have the job set to run off hours and force a reboot. The scan and deploy works fine, but the reboot doesn't complete. The computers are logged off and in screensaver mode at the time. They get the reboot command ok. New User - Having authetication issues
I am evaulating Desktop Central to manage computers over the WAN that are not part of a Domain or Workgroup. These are stand alone systems that act as Kiosks and all share the same administrative userID and password. I have deployed this in our lab with no firewalls and on systems that are on the same LAN. Purge Temp Files
I set a configuration to purge temp files but it doesn't seem to be working? The problem is... When you open an attachment in Outlook, it automatically saves a copy to the temp folder, if there are multiple attaaachments with the same name, it will append them with a number (voicemail (1).wav... Once it's hit 99, it won't open another voicemail.wave file, so I've manually gone on users machines as this has come up and deleted the temp files. reinstall Desktop Central on production server
Are there any special requirements when I move the current install to a production box?? Do I need to do anything with the agents or will they see the production server when I restart the box?

Hi Romanus, When we installed the agent to 4 new HP Desktop computers we get the below error in the event log. This does not seem to be happening on any other computers. EventID=7011 Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the ManageEngine Desktop Central 6 - Agent service. Thanks, Billy.

Im new into this software Deployment program, so it maybe has to be a stupid Issue... When i try to connect to a client through the remote desktop menu, i get the error: "Access Denied". in the column "connection status" it stands "operation failed". Removing Configurations
Evaluating the software i created a configuration to display a message box. after i verified that it worked, i deleted the configuration. now the clients still get the message box every time they log on in the morning. how do i remove that???
Branch Office Replication
My company has a lot of branch offices worldwide and some do not have the best of connection speeds. I was wondering if there was the capability to replicate the software repository and the patches to a local share at that office and assign the computer's in that office to hit that share instead of the server at our main building.
Wake on lan
Hi, I have been trying to find out how to initiate a wake on lan straight away instead of a scheduled Wake on LAN task. I can not seem to find this in the product.
