Force reboot after patch deploy

Force reboot after patch deploy

I am having an issue with getting the desktops to reboot after a patch configuration deployment. I set the configuration to run off-hours when the users are not logged in to their desktops.  The patches install fine and the computers all start to shutdown. However, the shutdown hangs until somone breaks out of the screensaver (.i.e. moves the mouse or presses a key).  Then, the computer continues to shutdown and reboot.  This happens on all of my Windows XP desktops and Windows 2003 servers.

I tried just deploying the configuration without forcing a reboot.  Then after the deployment is complete, I run a shutdown command remotely, and the same issue occurs.  I don't have any issues running a remote shutdown command normally - only after a Desktop Central configuration deployment.

Can anyone shed some light on this?  It's really annoying.
