I try to update the Desktop central hotfix using updatemanager.bat ......but only command prompt is running and close...without the new update screen window comeout....previuosly i update without any issue.... any ideahow to resolve it.

Adding Customized Columns to Inventory View
Hi Guys! Is there a way to add customized columns in inventory view? I mean, I have some internal classifications for the computers, such as A, B and C, and I would like to view this also in Desktop Central. The way I do it right now is to export inventory to CSV and then add this column in Excel, But I don´t want to use Excel anymore! I want to have only Desktop Central to manage my whole inventory. How to run a custom report showing servers/desktops and what patches are missing
I've been banging my head against this but I have to provide a list of patches missing on each server to look like Computer Name, Bulletin, PatchReleaseDate, Status, Severity where the patch may not have been deployed yet but should be deployed in the future. Does somebody have any sql for this?
Faulty development trends for DC?
Hello Desktop Central team and community, (sorry bad english) We use DC for almost one year and we think it is a good product to patch our windows server. But when I see the roadmap and the postings in this messageboard I see a faulty development trend for Desktop Central. We miss many core features in the product and a better/accurately test of new Desktop Central builds. How to sync DC with real life....
Hi, I have a DC server running from one year, but the last six months has not been managed at all. The result is that the pc, policy and other objects in DC are not in sync with the real equipment presents in the company. I.e. I have several pc not anymore in active directory but that are presents in DC inventory. How can I fix this situation ? Should I delete the whole DB , if so how ? The problem also affects the license as we're running out of space as many "dead" pc are still presents. Also
Before Patch Deployment / Restart to Servers
If the server need to restart before deploy to patch (system must be restarted) , scheduled patch deployment will be fail.. Desktop Central can detect these and firstly restart and continue to deployment ? Any suggestions ? Regards,
expired warranty
I have 164 computer(s) with expired warranty. It's false But I'am unable to change shipping date (shipping date take the date when desktopmanager is installed, it's not the true shipping date). If I can change shipping date and configure the default warranty time (1 year), it will be awesome.

Migrating to SQL Desktop Central 8
There is an issue with the mysql_mssql_restore.bat file when trying to restore the DB when migrating to MS SQL. The bat file is trying to reference %Java_Home% and %Server_Home%, but the variables are not set in the batch file which will return directory does not exist errors when trying to run the batch file. I added the line 'call .\setCommonEnv.bat' into the batch file, which sets the variables. This line is present in the batch file to backup the database 'mysql_mssql_backup.bat', but missing

Just received the email announcing DC 8 has been released... if I'm reading correctly we've been given 2 new features? SQL Back end compatibility and the ability record remote sessions? Seems a bit underwhelming... considering the various requested post here about building out some of the existing features... Am I missing something?

I'm not really sure I understand how DC handles Service Pack installation. There doesn't seem to be a way to scan machines to detect if a service pack is needed, etc.

Wake On LAN target limit
I've just started using Desktop Central 7 (Build 70246). I'm trying to set up a scheduled wake up with the Wake on LAN tool. It seems that the Wake On LAN tool only does 10 targets. When adding computers to the task, I can select all, click okay, and all my targets will by listed. Once submitted though, it will only list 10. Under Wake on LAN tasks, for summary of the task, it shows T=10 (only 10 targets). If I edit the task, only 10 targets are listed. Right now I'm testing on 40 targets, if
Upgrade Third Party Apps
Desktop Central 8 can automatically deploy patches, but it cannot automatically upgrade software to a new version. For example, it can deploy patches for Adobe Reader 9, but not automatically upgrade to Adobe Reader X. I realize one can use the "Software Deployment" feature to deploy Reader X, but it would be nice if an upgrade feature was integrated with Patch Management, so it doesn't have to be handled separately. Can you please implement this feature in a DC 8 hotfix? Thanks!

Software license compliance and tracking
We have 50 licenses of MS Office 2003 Basic. I have input all the keys in the "Manage License" section of Desktop Central. The system reads there are 50 installations of the software (this is to be expected from the software scans by the DC agents), and it now shows 50 purchases of the software. The issue I'm having is there are mutliple PC's that are using the same license key. But Desktop Central doesn't seem to recongnize there are multiple PC's using the same software key as the status

In the help file it says the following: "The Folder Redirection configuration helps you to change the location of the standard user profile directories to a different location in the network. Windows Update and Desktop Central
All, New to Desktop Central... If it's now handling all software updates, including security updates, what needs to be done with Windows Update (WU)? I see there's a script to disable it on the target machines, but is this necessary? Will Desktop Central take over all WU functions even though I haven't disabled WU and not cause any patches to install that haven't been approved ?

Everytime I complete a Hotfix update on desktop central I have to update each agent manually. Am I doing something wrong? Is there an easier way to update the agents?

I have an Automated Patch Deployment task configured to "Scan, Download and Deploy" Patches, but still appear some missing patches. Is not supposed that that kind of task is intended for the automated installing those missing patches? What am I doing wrong?
