Faulty development trends for DC?
Hello Desktop Central team and community,
(sorry bad english)
We use DC for almost one year and we think it is a good product to patch our windows server.
But when I see the roadmap and the postings in this messageboard I see a faulty development trend
for Desktop Central. We miss many core features in the product and a better/
accurately test of new
Desktop Central builds.
Example:
- With the new version (build 80000) we can not create or edit our custom groups with special characters.
Error: "Group Name should not contain special characters."
Hey good new "feature". Custom groups with "special characters" works without any problem in all 7**** builds.
( I open a ticket over this problem).
- Simple reports is missed in DC like: In which custom groups is client/server XYZ?
Oh yeah but we see a new feature in the roadmap: "Criteria based custom groups of users and computers"
First: Basis task, then this special new features! OK?!
- Bugs in the system like this never fix (Yes I open a ticket and recieve the answer, the Developer create a hotfix for me): When you create a task: Deploy this on the 4 Sunday this month the system will start it @ 29. Jan 2012.
But the 4 Sunday in this month is the 22. Jan not 29.
- Option to install a auto patchmangement task instant are not available.
- A Option to install a needed updates to a client/server system whitout to create a new deploymenttask.
Like WSUS option. Click on a client system to the icon, Install the following updates....
- The simple option: First, second, ... last Monday in the restart task.
We see the option in the deploymenttask, but the restart task only know the "first monday, first sunday....)
- Working custom groups or better, a working option "in Tools\schedule shutdown": "
Reflect Custom Group Changes". When you add or delete a server in a custom group the system don't reflect this change to a restart or shutdown task. The option never work and is useless.
Sorry but fix the bugs in the software first, then bring the simple/basis features and then go to your roadmap to
bring use support for IOS, Localization support, chat system in a remote connection.....
