Windows Update and Desktop Central

New to Desktop Central... If it's now handling all software updates, including security updates, what needs to be done with Windows Update (WU)? I see there's a script to disable it on the target machines, but is this necessary? Will Desktop Central take over all WU functions even though I haven't disabled WU and not cause any patches to install that haven't been approved ?
