Different value between ping service and availibity in report
Dear sir, i've got a problem when i generate weekly report, my server (called : x) got different value between Ping service and avalibilty server, after crosscheck, i knew that availability server show 100 %, it should be less then it, because the server has restart before, but in Ping report show the right value 99,8 % (about 5 menit downtime) . Note : Availibilty collection using SNMP (Poll : 5 minutes) Ping service pool 5 minutes. Please need your help. Many thanks.
How to monitor custom performance counter in APM9
Hello all, I need to monitor the performance of my application, I wrote custom performance counters and monitored them with perfmon but since my application run on several machines I need a tool which can monitor the whole system (aggragate the same counter accross the different machines, user-friendly display, graphes and so on) so I've decided to check out APM9 I've read that it monitors counter throw WMI but didn't see example on how to do it. Issue with Sharepoint monitoring
Hi I have configured a Sharepoint monitor, most of the Sharepoint widgets are blank, not seeing any information displayed. Server is running Windows 2008 R2 with Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007. SQL 2008 backend on another host. Windows account im using is a member of the Local Administrators group on that server, and is all defined as a "Sharepint Administrator" within Sharepoint. I get no errors when adding the Sharepoint monitor. I've tried clicking on "Poll Now" but dont get any
How do I remove an association of a threshold to an attribute
I accidently added a size restriction threshold to the Free Space % attribute and now I cannot remove it. I've managed to remove the alerts based on this association but I cannot remove the threshold and so the monitor keeps reporting it as an issue I believe. How do I remove the association on the alarm for the monitor? Thanks, James.
Truncate of thread dump stack trace
When I generate thread dumps from within AppManager the individual thread stack traces are truncated. Anyone know how to get to the entire trace?

Installing multiple products on 1 server
Is it possible to install Application Manager, EventLog Analyzer, Password Analyzer and Firewall Analyzer on 1 server not using any virtualization? We would prefer to install the software so it uses the same database and Apache instance to reduce resource needs if possible. Thank you, Andrew T.

Hello, I try to monitor an HTTPS URL sequence - simple login and logout. I try HTTP(s) URLs and also HTTP(s) URL Sequence (Record and playback) and I get the same result. Alert when a process is running
Unlike normal alerts, I need an alert that tells me when a specific process is running. This is a process that shouldn't be running so I want an email if it is running, I can't get this to work but it is a double negative situation I think. I have the monitor set up for the applicable server. I have created a process monitor and added the process I want to monitor. I have created an alarm for that process. Monitoring DFS
Good morning, How do i monitor DFS VOLUMES? When I discover the server it will show my drives (C and E) however we also mount full drives as folders using DFS. For example E:\DATA is an actual hard disk on our SAN How do i monitor and report on this? I can monitor using WMI but that will only give you snapshot. New Install - Web Console hangs at waiting... ?

Process Monitor false positives Alarms
So on several Linux machines we have a process "ksrnd_d" running. We set up alarms to alert us when the process is down so that we may properly restart it, collect crash logs and so on. On Sunday we noticed it said it was down 3 times: 1) 1 minute at 1:22AM 3) 1 hour 16 minutes at 3:04AM 2) 1 hour 17 minutes at 5:47AM That first time happens to be the same time as the poll timer. However, we were startled that it said it was down, and found out that it was not actually down, leading us to believe
Monitoring MS SQL servers (AppManager running 2008 R2 64-bit)
Hello, Should this be working? We can't seem to add MS SQL monitors (tried both SQL 2008 and SQL2000) What is frustrating is that when we try to add the monitor, the page loads for about 30 seconds and then just refreshes without any confirmation/error/warning. Very frustrating as we have nothing to troubleshoot with. We tried both sa and normal sysadmin account to rule out any permissions issues. Adding ODBC from the AppManager server to the database servers works like a charm. Any ideas?
Warning or error when password expires
In Appmanager I am monitoring my windows servers using WMI where I supply with username and password. I don't get any warning or error when the password expires. The Appmanager continues as nothing has happend, but I don't get the details from the server any more. I think it should give me a warning when the password has expired. Kind regards Søren
Startup and shutdown errors
Trying to stop/start the Applications Manager service from the links in the start menu usually fails with an error about amlock. I am able to start and stop the service with Windows Services so it's not too much of an issue, but I wondered if there is a problem doing this and that's the reason for the links in the start menu. Uptime reports don't print colour
Hi, when I print an uptime report, although it displays correctly on screen, the green bars just have a white background when printed to paper. This is really frustrating and currently we have to use screenshots instead of the official reports. We're using Internet Explorer 6/8 and experience the same issue in both browsers. Disk I/O Statistics not displaying graph
Monitoring disk I/O statistics of a RedHat Linux host and the graphs do not display. I get a message from the AppManager "There is no data available at the moment", however, AppManager is polling device I/O information. What must be done to display I/O statistic graph, and be able to pull up I/O trending data over a period of time?

AppManager: +350,000 png files under tmp folder
Hi, I notice that after a week or so, there are hundreds of thousands of image files (png) left under the AppManager tmp folder. This has been the same for AppManager Professional v8.610, 9.1, 9.4, & 9.5. Should AppManager automatically clean these files up?
All charts printed do not contain any colour
Hi, For some time now and through different builds we've a very annoying issue. When we view, for example,. the availability tab of a monitor group, we click on the printer friendly version icon which brings a pop up for us to use to print the report. The screen shows all colour and a bar that has red/green/grey depending on its status, but when you go to print it, on any of our printers or straight to PDF the bars come out clear with no colour. High CPU Utilization on Applications Manager host
Hi, We have recently built Applications Manager on a Windows 2008 SP2 32Bit host. We are concerned about the high CPU utilization that is occuring on the machine which appears to be coming from a process called lsass.exe. The machine is only running Applications Manager and we believe that AppMan may in some way be the cause and/or the originator. 9500 fixes performance issues?
I see that you have released build 9500 of App Manager, are ALL the performance issues resolved? I had to roll back to 9300 because the ie fix you provided did not fix anything... And then when you took control you came up with excuses that there wa not enough memory on this computer... Yet 9300 runs fine. I would like to see what the performance fixes were.
Windows 2008 servers detected as Windows Vista

Email alert action does not contain root cause data
Hi, We have recently built a new Applications Manager server and I have just set up alarms for all the monitors (NOT at the monitor group level) but when we receive an email notification we do not get the full details we just get told that it meets for example "security error alert" rule. We previously got advised with our last build that we should configure the alarms on a monitor by monitor basis and not on the groups, which this time I have followed but we are still having the same problem.

Problem with version 9400 and webservices
Hi, we have a webservice configured for test on Appmanager. Yesterday we upgraded to version 9400 and the webservice test is not working anymore. I've tried to add back the webservice and it add correctly but after i do a poll update the availability will go in error and i get this error: Unable to access the WSDL url http://servername:port/timeservice/time - 405. Monitor a web service with Application Manager
Hi, a customer ask if it is possible to monitor their own web services. I am not an expert, but they are talking about XML files that return a value that can be checked to verify if the service is still working. Checking the server status and the TCP port is not enough. Losing monitors (licensing issues?)
Hello, We seem to lose the ability to monitor some things, just in the middle of doing nothing. The monitors still run, but you can't see them graphically anywhere (and not add them either) If we go to Admin/License administration and reapply the license the monitors come back. URL Sequence monitoring does not support capturing javascript text
Our website application utilizes javascript extensively to return back messages from the backoffice application. THese Javascripts are displayed on the screen, however Appmanager does not recognize these texts, and cannot alert if the standard text response changes. THis would be a great feature to have.

Hi, Apologies for the duplicate post but I forgot to mention the 64BIT in my last post which was made as a guest and I cannot find. We are currently looking into doing a clean build of AppManager so that we can use MSSQL for the back end.
