Cant find AD user
Hi, We have a specific user who we can not find through ADMP when we try to do a search from the modify user screen. If we browse the directory with ADexplorer the user can be found. I dont think this is a refresh issue as it has been like it for a while. Any suggestions? Thanks
User Documentation for ADManagerPlus
Hi I have been using Couple of ME Products - Service Desk Plus with Asset Mgmt, ADManagerPlus, EventLogAnalyser. The tools are very effective. However one thing lacking is the proper Documentation of these products. Most of the Help documentations are mere explanation of what one sees on the screen, which is very obvious rather than the details of them , as to what it means. AdManager templates
It starting to be really frustrating with all these different layouts for templates and that they are missing for certain objects (groups) As it is now users has one template interface and computers/contacts has another and groups is completly missing it. Last Logon not picking up IAS authentication?
Hi, I am looking to clean up our Active Directory environment with ADManager Plus. Cleaning up the computers will be pretty straight forward but the users will be a little more difficult. I ran the inactive users report against all domain controllers and sorted it by Last Logon Time. This is great if users are logging on to a machine that is part of the domain but we currently have a lot of users that work from home and VPN into our network using their domain credentials. ADManager Plus access remotely
I installed the ADManager Plus trial on a server but have noticed that to access it remotely, in any way, it has to be running on the server. Is this by design or is it because I am testing the trial version? We have a couple geographically different locations with tech that would need to use this application. Bottom line - I want to know if ADManager Plus can be installed on a central location and then used remotely via a browser without it running 24/7 on the server. Thanks! Stephanie
Modifying Templates
Is there a way to add fields when creating or modifying templates? I would like to add the Direct Reports field from the AD Organization Tab to the Organization area in the template. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
User Template Limitation?
Is there a limitation on the number of user templates we can create in ADManager Plus?
Logon Hours
In Active Directory, there is a button for "Logon Hours..." on the Account tab for users. Other data from this tab (and it's other button, "Log On To...") can be bulk-managed with ADManagerPlus, but I don't see how to change Logon Hours for all user accounts. How best can this be accomplished?
Custom Permissions
Hi All - I would like to allow a role to just have modify user properties --> contact details. Is there any way to accomplish this? The Modify user general properties gives too many rights. Thanks
single sign on
Is it possible to have single sign on for AD Manager Plus? Users in my organisation do not have password. We use smartcard. So in order to log into the application we need a single sign on solution. Sort of like the "pass-through" oprion in Servicedesk Plus.
Modify Custom Attributes
Hi I need to modify custom attributes in exchange for multiple users using AD manager Plus. The LDAP Name that needs to be used is extensionAttribute9. The Value will be different for each user. So each users value will be different. Regards Riaaz

when i first created users in active directory i didn't fill the information (phone,department,....) so is there anyway i can collect them from users, by a third party software or any other way, where users can fill out a form or something regarding their information. thank you

Need to Add PO Box to All Users Report
We're running ADManager Plus 5.2.0, build 5231, and I'm logged in as a domain admin and a newbie ADMP user. We use the PO Box field for a different purpose, so I need to add it to the All Users report. PO Box is not included in the available fields - nor is Web Page (which would help as well). How do I add these fields to the report? TIA for your assistance!

mysqld-nt.exe has stopped working
After I install ADManger Plus, it works properly the first time I use it, but the second time I open the program I get "mysqld-nt.exe" has stopped working. Based on other posts, this is due to a corrupted database. Is there a known fix for this issue yet? I am running Windows 7 64bit SP1. Thanks
what is the correct format for the csv file? after import it shows one user with over 1000 entries
not sure how is the format for the csv and also when i import the file it shows the same user over 1000 times. we created a formula in excel for the first user and then expand it to all of them. somehow ad manager shows only the first user over a thousand times. any clues? my format is: given name, last name, pwdlast set, display name, user logon name
Setup helpdesk techs
Hi We have just purchased AD manager licences for 10 users. Will the helpdesk users have to be Domain admins to be able to perform password resets etc?. Ideally we want to take away there domain admin rights and have them as domain users. Will I have to give the Helpdesk group Delegation control on our AD structure? Which would defeat the object as they could still access AD via MMC. Thanks Richard
Passwords to use for student import

At the moment we are uing a user creation tool builkd to suit our needs by some company but now planning to change since no support is provided. Our old tool was able to create exchange accounts on a particular mailbox store depending on the first letter of the lastname. But i couldn't find a way to do that on ADManager Plus. How to migrate users Firstname & Lastname
Hi I work for an Company that creates websites and it has internal server in Linux. We got all the users(publishers) in csv file format, trying to migrate them into windows 2008 R2 Active directory. The problem i am facing is the users are migrating with out any errors but their FirstName and Lastname are left out blank. There is no option in the template to populate firstname and lastname. Hi, I am new to ADManagerPlus, I am trying to create a report of members in groups so that the members names are listed as their logon name (userPrincipalName) rather than their display names. Help Desks Cannot Log in to ADManager Plus
We have just launched our ADManager site recently, and some users cannot log in. When they enter their username and password and select 'Login', the username and password is blanked out and nothing happens. We have determined that some users experience this on their entire network, while other users are only experiencing this on one machine. Help manage specific groups only
HI, Is it possible through AD manager plus help desk roles to enable some helpdesk technicians to manage certain groups only, or a specific OU? I have the need to enable a helpdesk technician to manage some user security groups but i do not want them to able to elevate privilages within active directory, for example add to a third line security group and therefore get permissions to a lot more things. I broke ADManager (and ADAudit). Database issue?
Our AdManager and ADAudit server ran out of space on C: drive, and the services could not be restarted after cleaning up space. I suspect it's a database problem, but I don't have the first idea how to go about fixing errors. I'd reinstall the lot if it weren't for all the reports I've set up. Any ideas?
Can't create scheduled report for group members
Hi I need to create a scheduled report that will send me a list of all members of a certain group. When I try creating an AD report it works, but I cant schedule it. These are the steps: tab AD Reports -> Scheduler Report -> Schedule New Reports Select Reports: Group Reports -> Group Members + ...then I get a list of my AD groups, I select the one that I need, but it does not accept it.... Custom Name Format - Additional Attributes?
Is it possible to use other LDAP attributes in a custom name format? For example, we use the last three of the employeeID attribute in the user name. Thanks!
Report for all accounts with an expiry date
Good Morning, I noticed that there are no reports available that will display all accounts with an expiry date. I know that we can set the number to something very high and that does work, however, it can't be 100% accurate. I did submit a feature request, but would like to know if anyone has a way around this or has any details on when/if this can be available. Thanks!
Apply template to existing accounts
