VMware ESX Upgrade
Hi We have recently upgraded to VMware ESXi 5.0. OpManager has retained the monitoring set up for the VM's OK and I have added in the new servers. However no stats are showing for the hosts. I have checked that the password is correct. If I remove the hosts will that also remove the VM's from monitoring as well? Thanks.
Device statistics lost after upgrade... any way to get them back?
After upgrading to build 9200, it seems as though all device statistics got wiped for me. By that, I mean if I try to generate reports for my devices and use any time period prior to the OpManager upgrade (which I performed a month ago today), there is no data available. I do not remember which build we upgraded from (8100 perhaps?). Is there any way to restore those statistics? I did make a backup of the database beforehand, but I'm not sure how to restore just the statistics, or if it's at all
Monitoring Exchange
I am testing the latest version and have a few questions in regards to monitoring Exchange 2003. A credential is needed to monitor exchange. How secure is it to use such an account with administrator rights? For testing, I created a local admin account on that machine. Also, would I be able to monitor a Mailbox Store if it is dismounted? Citrix XenServer 5.5
Is anyone here successfully using OpManager to monitor Citrix XenServer 5.5 hosts? If so, any tips or hints? It does seem that OpManager monitors the console memory instead of total memory utilization (just like in ESX).
first link of 'infrastructure snapshot' and 'device summary' is not expanding
Dear Team, first link of 'infrastructure snapshot' and 'device summary' is not expanding. When we click on the first link of the 'infrastructure snapshot' or 'device summary' then they should expand and should show the devices in it but it is not expanding. Unable to recieve Computer names
Hi All, We use to monitor the Network of 20 computers at from our remote Office, connectivity is done through Cisco Wireless Bridge.I have installed OpUtils 5 at our Head Office and getting SNMP details for all our devices connected with a Cisco Switch, but its only showing the MAC Addresses the computers not the Computer name and IP Addresses. I have the same setup at our Head Office and getting all the details(Computer name and IP Addresses). Let me know the possible cause of this issue. Kaleem
Mount Points and OpManager
I have been looking around in attempt to find the answer I am looking for but there always seems to be something missing in the posts that are preventing me from getting to my answer. Hi Its is possible for OpManager to work with a 3rd party SMS gateway provider such as http://www.textanywhere.net/? For our internally developed systems, we use http://www.textanywhere.net/ and messages are sent to as SOAP webservice requests. Or is there a tutorial on getting OpManager (running on vSphere) to work with a GSM phone, I'm confused how the Device is shared with the VM.
Cisco 2960 switch adding temperature monitor

Syslog Problems OpManager
Hello, I have problems to enable syslog in OpManager 9 (Build 9101) because it is not recording the data in reports, so anybody do this with OpManger 8 (Build 8812) and had no problems. Is there a problem with syslog in Build 9101? Claudio Leiva

How to map indexes to names from SNMP?
I have setup a custom device template for an ACE 4719 load balancer. OpManager doesn't show the CPU, Memory, Backplane utilization
Hi, We use HP, 3Com, H3C switches and routers in our network. Opmanager doesn't show the CPU, Memory, Backplane utilization of those devices. And those devices are not classified at the discovering process as switches or routers and go to unknown category. I have to import from unknown category to switch or router category. is there any problem with mibs? regards. kasun

Partition size details

How i can see detailed info (graph would be the best) of the disk partitions status of a server in a server view? TCP based syslog in OpManager?
Hi guys. Just wondering if there's any possibility to run syslog on tcp ports in OpManager as opposed to standard udp and if not, if there's any plans in the future to support this? Most standard syslog daemons now support tcp syslog (rsyslog, syslog-ng etc.) and I'd like to see it also in OpManager as relying on syslog messages to generate alerts based on matched patterns etc. over udp is not 100% reliable. I am using the log file agent, and I am confused about the option "If the condition is matched X consecutive times". What exactly is this referring to? Twice in the same line? Two lines in a row? The meaning I was hoping for is "Found in 2 consecutive monitoring periods" but that does not seem to be the case. I am monitoring a robocopy logfile for the string "error". Is there a way to list all devices that are not currently associated with a business view. I have over 300 servers and some are not in a business view.(added via discover multiple devices) I want to be able to see which ones have no associations and make the connection. Is this a possibility?
Alarm stuck in Opmanager

I have created a new Business View named Internet and added the related network devices. Wheoun I link two devices together the device name shows as name&ip address even though I edit the device and change the display name after sometime it revert back. Is there a way to fix this? Regards
Enable AJP Connector in 9200
Hi All, We have been running OpManager for a few years now with AJP / mod_jk listening on 8009 and a httpd running on a nother system that forwards / proxy requests to the opmanager system. Today we upgraded to 9200 and the 8009 connector has been disabled. I have edited the server.xml file but each time you restart OpManager it re-writes the server.xml file and removed the connector config. Does anyone know how to re-enable the AJP / mod_jk connector in tomcat? Regards, Ben

OpManager failing on ssl login
Hi, has anybody encountered issues with HTTPS logins to OpManager after upgrading to build 9200? We recently upgrade our install of OpManager to build 9200. OpManager continued functioning as normal. it was accessible when browsed to via HTTPS, it continued to collect SNMP information and email alerts. However, our install of OpManager while still accessible via HTTPs is now refusing login requests for the admin and operator accounts. It also stopped sending email alerts as of last Wednesday. I
OpManager Netflow Plugin Interface names
On my ASA I initially did not have the SNMP community set correctly (within the netflow plugin), however now that I have corrected it the Netflow plugin will not correct the interface names (all index#). Any tips on how to correct this? Also I was playing around with the default community string setting for the netflow plugin and found that it always defaults to interface description, if I try and change it to name or alias the setting is not remembered.
