OpManager + NetFlow Analyzer + DeviceManager on one box?
Hello, I already own NetFlow Analyzer and DeviceManager. I run both of these on separate virtual machines on a very large VMware ESX cluster and have no problems. I'd like to deploy OpManager because my current NMS has a lot of issues. However, I'd like to consolidate some things for ease of management. Can I run OpManager, NetFlow Analyzer, and DeviceManager all on the same system? I would be monitoring about 250 nodes with OpManager, 250 interfaces with NetFlow Analyzer, and only 10-20 devices
Unmanaged devices sending notification msg and other errors.
Hi I've been using OpManager for quite some time now. But now I'm really thinking of changing to something else. This program just does what it likes. For instance: 1) I have set a Cisco switch to unmanaged, as we are doing tests that can cause quite some error messages. This worked fine for a week or two. All of a sudden, I'm receiving error messages from this switch. When I go to the switches map, the switch isn't there. Instead one of my Citrix servers appears ?!?!? OK, set the switch to managed,
Unmanage and re-manage multiple devices with minimum effort?
Hi, We use OpManager to monitor some devices on our network that are only online for a few days each month, the rest of the time we have to unmanage them to avoid receiving tons of alarms polluting the system. The problem is that unmanaging (and then re-managing for the few days we need it) all those devices (around 100) one by one is a huge pain, so is there a way to do that for all the concerned devices at once? Hi. I am evaluating the OpManager 7, and when i configure the e-mail alert, i would like to receive just one e-mail for each alert. Today, I am receiving a lot of e-mail for the same alert (while the alert is not clear), every 5 minutes (for Server events for example). It's possible? Thanks and Regards Kleber
URL Monitoring: Some via proxy and some via direct.
I have a question regarding URL monitoring via proxy server. I have some sites that are external and require proxy server to get to them. Rest are internal http applications that do not require proxy server to get to them. Is there a place to configure proxy server per URL ? Also, I added a proxy server to monitor external links, now I cannot monitor internal network links that do not need proxy to connect to. I am unable to remove the global proxy server configuration via web gui. I cannot find

Does opManager support custom scripts to automate network/server configurations changes? If the answer to the previous question is Yes, is possible to schedule daily scripts execution or run some scripts in answer to events/alerts?

a way to shutdown/restart certain monitors through a script?
We use OpManager's URL monitoring feature, and each time we push a new upload to our site, OpManager sends a URL-down alert, which it actually is down during the upload and OpManager's doing exactly what it�s supposed to be doing. If possible, we'd like to run a script on OpManager to shutdown, then a set period of time later, restart the URL monitoring, thereby stopping the URL alerts from happening because of the uploads. Because our uploads are also ran from a script, we could incorporate this

In troubleshooting part it is mentionned that SNMP need to be activated. quote To view the CPU utilization, Memory Utilization, Disk Utilization, Interface Traffic, Interface Utilization and Interface Errors reports, you need to have SNMP installed in the managed devices. DHCP Scopes - number of free IP addresses
Hi, I have uploaded a MIB called DHCP-MIB.mib. Using the MIB Browser functionality i was able to query a DHCP server and retrieve for each scope the correct number of free and used IP addresses (ENP-4522.jpg). I have added this OID from the MIB in my W2003 template and apply it to the DHCP server. After a couple of days I have checked and seen that the answer to my queries for specific scopes is totaly wrong: it is 0 or several millions (ENP-4523.jpg). Memory & disk utilization shown wrong
Memory, Disk utilization value wrong shown for Novell Open Enterprise server. On the OpManager Memory and Disk Utilization always show 100% usage. On the server memory usage is about 65%. Hi Is it possible to have a new type of user created which is called "Alarm Manager" This is essentially a read-only user who has access to add notes and acknowledge/clear alarms within the Ops Manager system. Port Down results in critical Alert
Hi we monitor around 10 Switches with opmanager in our company, but whenever a Port goes down (a Computer is turned off) i get a critical alert in Op manager. How can i turn this off? I found a switch to turn it on or off completely but i still want to monitor the optical fibre links and the connections between the switches but not each connected computer. Hi. In your license agreement it is specified that you can not install more than 1 copy on more than 1 CPU. In this case, if i plan to install a 2nd copy as backup system, don't i violate the license agreement? Correct me please if I'm wrong. Thanks Bogdan

hi, When I start the OpManager in start menu, I always get a error message. The message is "ht tp://localhost:8060 can not find the application". But I can start the client by writing "ht tp://localhost:8060" in IE. It runs well before and I do nothing. I hope that somebody could help me. Thank you very much! Leo

Hi, I've been using OpsManager for half a year now and am now trying to add further server monitors. I just noticed it allows real-time reporting. I would like to monitor W3SVC current connections for each web site in IIS. Would it be possible to poll each web site current connection in real-time in a guage? OpManager stops polling servers;restesting credentials fixes
I constantly log into OpManager and find that none of the statistics display. When I choose the performance monitor and test it, it fails. Once I go back to the server and retest the credentials, and pass, the monitor begins to show the current value. For instance, I have monitors on my servers that should alert me if any disk goes below 2GB. I logged into a server and found that there was only 200MB free. Hi, I monitor "Partition Details of the Device (%)" on some partitions on all my servers. I would like to get a list of all partitions that exceed 80%. What is the query (MS SQL Backend) to get "Server Name", "Partition letter/mount point" and "Partition label" of each partitions that exceed 80% (from daily stats) In a future release, it would be nice to have a similar report where we can select a custom value for %. Hello, I've got a question: For exampe, If I have a trap-processors for the enterprise-oid ".1.3.6.1.4.1.9" (Cisco), can I then add a second trap-processor for the enterprise-oid ".1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.41.1.2.3.1" (Firewall-UDP-Request-Discarded-Trap), which is a sub-part of the first oid? Custom SNMP Trap Processors
Is it possible to create custom Trap Processors that look for a text signature in the trap message? The problem I am having is that the different SNMP events coming from my Checkpoint firewall, all have the same Enterprise OID & Varbinds. When i create a custom (v1) Processor they begin to show up as alerts (as expected) but I can't differentiate their severity or escalation path. Is there a way to differentiate these events? eg: Event1: No Trap Parser defined for received trap: Enterprise: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2620.1.1

WMI with NATed addresses
Hello, We manage a number of sites some are internal addressing via a VPN and others are over the Internet and those servers are using one to one NATs. The servers we are monitoring using internal IP addresses are perfect both SNMP and WMI The servers that use one t- one NATs are fine with SNMP but not WMI When trying to connect to these servers' WMI the errors are either Access denied or The object exporter specified was not found.
